Lovely little rolled ice cream place in Ankeny. The ice cream is prepared in front of you. I was very curious about the process. I created my own mixture and got coffee ice cream as the base. I learned that instead of using coffee flavored ice cream, they use their own vanilla base and add a scoop of finely ground coffee beans and then mix that up. The flavor was impeccable. Authentic coffee ice cream. I got fruity pebbles and cinnamon toast crunch with marshmallow topping. The person who made my ice cream also held great convo while making my mix. Everything was awesome

I stopped by before dropping my daughter off at preschool to see what time they opened (I didn't have my phone on me to google it) door hours say Mon-Thru Noon -10pm I thought perfect it's a nice day out today well stop and get some ice-cream after preschool. After preschool we stop by, and it was closed I had 2 very disappointed preschoolers in the car. We opted for Dairy Queen

My kids and I LOVE Sweet Swirls. They are locally owned and a great place to visit. The options are endless, if you're new, you can try one of their mixes or you can create your own. My son loves the "Fluffy Unicorn" which is fruity pebbles and marshmallow sauce. My favorite is a make your own and I do Coffee flavored ice cream with Almonds and Graham Crackers then add chocolate sauce. *insert drool*The staff is amazing and very friendly!

Rolled ice cream is the real deal! It's actually made in front of you and it really is a kind of art. They get the toppings evenly spread and mixed in to add flavor and texture to every bite. Pictured is the "cookie monster," which is full of cookie dough and Oreos. Totally delicious. There's inside and outside seating and the vibes are just right.

This was my first trip to sweet swirls. My wife had been wanting to try and give this place a try due to all the you tube videos on rolled ice creme. I had never even heard of this process before. They had a large selection of ice cream and topping choices. I decided to try the Vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cups and cheese cake. My wife got the chocolate ice cream with oreos, chocolate sauce and caramel sauce. The whole process was kind of amazing. They took the peanut butter cups and cheese cake and put that on the cold plate. Then they added the cream and it all just began to freeze. They chopped up the peanut butter cups and cheese cake while they were spreading out the cream. The more they spread the more it froze. When it got hard they cut it up and started to roll it down. They were then able to put it in the cup with just a pair of tongs. I then opted to get the cherry on top. The ice cream was not like normal ice cream it was soft and velvety but a little harder then a soft serve. This was a great experience that I am sure I will enjoy again. I was glad to hear from the owner that they are adding one in Johnston so I won't have to go as far to get some fun ice cream.

Love, love, love sweet swirls. The staff are always super friendly and respectful. And no matter how busy they are, they move efficiently. The price is also really good for the amount of Ice cream you get.

I came to the shop like always I meet these two new young girl making ice-cream. I went to check the freezer for my Pints flavor I didn’t find it. I gently asked to make a new pint(chocolate monster) for me and they said no. We were arguing that the only make pints just in the morning so they couldn’t make it I was still trying to explain to them until one of other staff came and explain to them that they will that pints can be made at anytime of the day.I then now went to took the cookies and cream in the freezer this is what I got when I opened my pint at home… nothing like the cookies and cream I always get…I encourage them to double checked the lids and labels before putting in the freezer

Picture speaks for itself, I finished it all before I remembered to take a picture. I was that entranced by the ice cream. Coffee icecream is my absolute favorite and this is made with real coffee. I was in icecream heaven.My daughter had fun watching them make it too!Definitely going to be making more trips to Ankeny just for this icecream! 😋

This is always our go to dessert when we are around Ankeny. You have to try it at least once, and you'll be coming back for more. I love the fruity flavors they have, I always go for the very berry signature creation. The staff is always friendly and it is fun to watch them roll the ice cream right in front of you.

This is the best ice cream place in town hands down! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff too. It is awesome how the ice cream is made, (see pictures) it's dinner and a show. I highly recommend going to this place if you are looking for a sweet ice cream treat!

Great ice cream! Rolled ice cream isn't your normal ice cream, they make it right in front of you & mix in your favorite ingredients. I've had this style of ice cream from a few different places & Sweet Swirls is my favorite. The ice cream is very light & refreshing compared to soft serve.

Loved this concept of rolling the icecream! Thanks Thailand! Very unique for this area. Nice to have a place in the area to offer some culture! Staff was friendly. Hope they can grow & expand & continue to rock & roll! Expect a little bit of a wait during the peak hours! It's worth it!

I work in food service so I'm not one to complain, but I went here last night with my boyfriend to get some ice cream and I was very upset with what we received.There was a younger girl making our ice cream and she did not clean any utensils or the metal pan they roll the ice cream on in between customers. The utensils she used were visibly dirty and so my Oreo ice cream ended up being half fruity pebbles because that's what the person ahead of me ordered. I thought she could have at least rinsed them off before making our order.Their ice cream tastes great but I would definitely be worried about cross contamination, especially if you have any allergies.She even told my boyfriend, who got vanilla ice cream, that his would taste like chocolate because that's what I got. Very disappointing because the location in Bondurant was so good! Maybe it was just that one experience, but it set me off from this place in the future.

What a fun experience! The ice cream is super yummy and fun! The staff the several times I have visited have been very friendly, helpful and professional at the same time. Great customer service and a great product too. Great for a girls night out or just a fun outing with the kids. The "Girl Scout" has become my all time favorite. This place was also well kept. Clean and inviting. Only con would be the parking lot entrance on the west side could use some work and parking lot isn't the best layout.

The wait is 100% worth it for the delicious, creamy rolls of ice cream that are the result! The employee was very kind and friendly and talked with us while we watched her make the ice cream rolls.

Delicious ice cream. The line was long, but definitely worth the wait. Very much enjoyed the way that the ice cream is essentially made up order right in front of your eyes. It reminds me of a hibachi grill, expect with ice cream. Despite what was obviously a long line, the young staff were quick, competent, and pleasant. I was with someone who was from out of town and they were very impressed with the entire experience. Will definitely be coming back and would 100% recommend this place to others.

Love the idea, flavors and customization. Staff are always really friendly. I wish they had umbrellas or an awning for the outdoor seating as it can get really hot and bright. Also, because of the process there can be a line sometimes, so I recommend non-peak days or hours.

Great ice cream. The woman made our orders very quickly and helped us understand what the menu was. It was a great little show to watch as the dish came together. When my wife's cherry fell, the employee offered her a new one. Great dessert and can't wait to go back.

This is a rolled ice cream shop. They make the ice cream right there on the spot and offer diary free ice cream. They have a few specials you can choose from but they really shine in letting you the customer make your own concoction. You want a peanut butter strawberry ice cream with a marshmallow and caramel drizzle, go for it. Its a really fun experience and its not super expensive. They also do ice cream cakes, ice cream cookies, and milk shakes.
