I come here almost every night to eat. But for months issue getting hot food like chicken been an issue. Response i get is no one in kitchen, short staffed, on lunch, and my favorite one "cook don't like to cook chicken".

If I could leave zero stars I would, I have never been treated so badly at a Kwik Star store until coming to this store! The cashier named Terri was absolutely horrible. She was rude when I asked her if I could pay with two separate cards. Had a horrible attitude. I will not be back to this location.

Top tier gas very competitive pricing, clean pump handles/hoses, clean windshield washer fluid with squeezes & paper towels for windows & checking fluids.

Friendly staff. Nice selection. Lower prices on milk and eggs than most places. Store is clean but restroom could have used some attention. I am not holding that against them as usually they are clean. They weren't awful, just not up to their normal standards. They have a kitchen opened All the time. You can buy one of the pizzas they make and ask for them to cook it right then for you and they will happily do this, day or night. Love this place!

Selection is good, staff is friendly but online ordering needs work. Twice now I’ve ordered food on the app and was given 25 minute pick up times. Showed up both times right at the pickup time and had to wait an extra 20-25 minutes once I got in the store. I get short staffing and all but 45 minutes to an hour for 8 pieces of chicken is ridiculous

I love kwikstar. It's really the only gas station I use anymore, but there's a blonde older lady who is always disrespectful to me when I come in! (I haven't caught her name, but I will next time!) She was really nice to the older lady in front of me, but when I walked up with a bottle of water and smiled at her, she looked me up and down, said nothing, and turned towards the computer behind her. No one else in line. Just me at this point. I waited for atleast 2 minutes before she turned back to me. No greeting. No questions. Just "1.29" is all I got. Nothing as I was leaving either. Shameful, really.

My favorite place to go. Great quality gasoline, price is usually cheaper than other places. Amazing drink selection from bottled, coffee and fountains. They have the best chicken in town!!! Rewards programs is awesome as well. If you haven't been. Stop in there some time and check it out.

This is much more than a gas station. The store is great, mainly because you feel like people working there truly care. They are friendly and professional, and the variety of foods is incredible. We trace gas prices closely, and this location is by far the lowest on average over time. Customer service at Kwik Star is better than at Casey's or Quick Trip, where prices are often disproportionate and personnel a bit crabby at times. The space at this location is a bit tight and could be expanded to better compete with new Kum 'n Go locations nearby, but we still rate this Kwik Star location as BEST IN CUSTOMER SERVICE.

My favorite gas spot. I have a reward card and use it faithfully. The chicken is the bomb. I mean real freshness delicious deep fried chicken. Love it love it. Great gas prices too. I get the same cashier when I stop in and she's always friendly and patient. #Buttaflibest1Award 🦋🏆

I have used their app to preorder food at this place twice. The 1st time they didn't have everything we ordered and we had to wait for it. Today, I placed my order over a 1/2 an hour ago for a pick up at a certain time. I arrived a few minutes before asked where my food was, and found out it would be another 20 minutes. What's the point of setting up a pick up time if it's not gonna be met? I suppose I could have taken what I ordered out of the hot case, but I ordered ahead specifically to get fresh. I don't know what time the other stuff was made.

Love the service. Always a friend face. Love all the options for drinks. I have a two year old who loves to watch the smoothies and shake machines. My toddler split a smoothie in line, the cashier saw the mishap and ran to make another one, before I could even say anything. Thank you so much for treating customers well!

It’s only my second time here but I had to leave a review. Kwik Star is by far the best gas station/convenience store I’ve been to! Kwik Star has a huge variety of food, very affordable prices, amazing tasting food, and excellent customer service. I highly recommend coming here! 10/10!

Large selection of items. Great place to get something in the middle of the night. Gas is typically priced very competitively. Staff have always been helpful and nice.

I like this place, and I want to like it more. However, I get so tired of being asked if I have a reward card here....or if I want one (-1 star). No, not today, not ever. I've had friends complain about the exact same problem here, so I know it's not just me. Reward cards have gotten out of hand with too many retailers, clubs, restaurants, etc. That said, it's good that they sometimes have a good variety of ready to eat food. Inconsistently they'll have a large selection to choose from, but usually it's hit or miss. They will, however, make you something if it's not available - so that's cool. The employees seem nice, but distracted. It's probably the chirping in their ears from the headsets they wear, perhaps. I'd put the customer service at the QT here in Ankeny around a 10 most of the time (Terry is always awesome and extremely personable and is really the main draw for this store); for Kwik Star I'd give them about a 4 or 5. Some of them are really cool, but too many just rate zero on the personality scale (-1 star because of them). The best thing about this place is that they sell Faygo soda! Every I.C.P. fan in America knows about this soda company located in Detroit Michigan, and finally it's available in our area. You'll get a super-bad variety of flavors from your basics, to cotton candy, pineapple and more. Plus their price beats anything Coke or Pepsi puts out. There is a good size variety of items in their store, as well. I've bought their gas, too, without any problems in quality or mileage. I use the pay at pump so I don't need to go in and get bothered about being asked once more if I have or want a rewards card.If you want selection, variety and sale items, this is the place to go. These guys easily beat Casey's and Kum & Go in every aspect. The only exception would be for Casey's pizza, which had become overpriced over the years (not just my opinion, but many). Is it worth a trip here? Yes, most definitely. For a convenience store their food beats any other around here.My wish now is that maybe the Kwik Star corporate shills will read this and have their employees ease off with the reward card pimping!

The sample lady is simply amazing; she is incredibly friendly, always helpful, and wanting to walk around the entire store with me and my autistic son. I don’t know her name but I can’t stop smiling when we arrive til we leave. Thank you ankeny store off of 36th street. Besides her the entire store is incredibly helpful, friendly, and CLEAN! We will be back over and over again after school. THANK YOU! ❤️💙

Very new station. Normal gas prices, great selection of snacks, food, baked good, drinks, the whole nine yards.I was excited for the first Kwik Star in Ankeny because they always have tons of stuff and this does not disappoint.They have tons of hot sandwiches, snacks, huge drink selection, fresh baked goods, and even things like fried chicken. They have some basic groceries and home stuff too (like most gas stations do).Worth stopping in just to see what they all have, it's a regular in my rotation of preferred gas stations in Ankeny!

Limited access with only one driveway, tables inside take up too much floor space, no local food or dairy products. The layout just feels weird, like a truckstop pretending to be a grocery store. Better off going to casey’s for food. Okay if your just getting gas, beer or cigarettes.

Stopped here to see what the place was like since they just opened it and I must say I was really impressed with the staff and how they greeted people, and asked if they could help with anything picked up some chicken for lunch and it was really good, the specials they run on food are really cheap overall was really impressed with the customer service experience.

This place is really going to give Casey’s and Quiktrip in Kum and go a run for their money. The total package right here. The food is phenomenal, the service is outstanding! If you haven’t been to a quixtar yet you should really consider it.

Their gas is much cheaper--over fifty cents a gallon in Ankeny than Des Moines. What a difference!! Well worth the short drive. Lots of baked goods and food choices too.

LOWEST PRICES ON GAS IN THE METRO AREA!Automatic car wash does a real good job too! $11 for the top of line wash, $10 if you buy it when you fill up with that CHEAP GAS HELLLO! 😀
