Was buying 3 squishmallows for my kids brand new they are priced anywhere from 10$ to 16$ for the size. The cashier made a huge deal about there not being tags and then told me they’re supposed to be 5$ a piece!!!!! They had stains on them I thought I could clean. “Goodwill” people come to your store to find cheap used stuff it’s part of the excitement. I was under the impression your store was about helping people not take advantage of the current economy and jack up your prices. Or at least do some research so you don’t look like scumbags. Like the multiple items from dollar tree you have priced anywhere from 3$ to 4$! “People” if you have a thing for used overpriced junk this goodwill is for you but if you want the same items but brand new just go to Walmart or dollar tree.

Only GW in area where manager prices certain brands higher than Plato’s Closet. True Religion outdated jeans marked at $19.99. A consignment store wouldn’t even be charging $15 for these. Terrible selling practices by inflating prices have been an issue with this store and manager for years. Does anyone at the HQ even care? It’s disgusting when a GW is charging more than Plato’s Closet which is a consignment store. Store employees have always been great. The manager needs to go or be brought back to reality with inflating prices to try to bolster their store sales numbers.

I have purchased many quality clothes from this goodwill. That’s why I’ve always liked this location so much. I tried purchasing a pair of pants that the store manager claimed had a special price tag that had been “ripped off”. If you’re really that concerned put all those special items behind a locked case because as a customer it looks like to me you are discouraging people from buying so you can buy it at the end of your shift.

Shoppers beware. Do not use the dressing rooms at this Goodwill, the security cameras can see you in the mirrors of the dressing rooms. I don't know if anyone is monitoring those cameras but it's very uncomfortable either way. If I can see the camera in the mirror in the dressing room, it can see me.

You would think for a thrift store the prices would be less. Going to get an item that you can buy brand new for cheaper than what you're selling it for is ridiculous.

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews but I stopped in this store about 10 minutes ago no body said hello when I entered , there was always a worker following behind as I looked through the sections which was almost uncomfortable I kept skipping isles just to be able to browse at my pace and it’s like they followed right behind on top of that I was speaking to my sister who was shopping with me and I mentioned the colored tags and I asked her do they have sales on like a certain color during a week or like season or did they have a color for that day, a worker not only laughed at my question which made me feel embarrassed she also responded with no we don’t do that but I believe they do. Then on top of that when I asked to use one of what I thought was 4 dressing rooms there because I’m a bigger girl and didn’t wanna be stuck in something tight or unflattering they told me all four dressing rooms were out of order but that there was a 7 day return policy i know for a fact that the closest goodwill is over 30 mins drive from my home and I wouldn’t return just a shirt and I didnt want to buy several shirts I just need a shirt for today but I guess Salvation Army is down the street and open soon I refused to spend money in there after that

I don’t generally shop at this locations Goodwill as I live closer to West Des Moines. However I went in here tonight and was really disappointed. They had a very poor selection and it smelled absolutely awful. Not to mention it was extremely dirty. I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this location.

I’ve only shopped this location twice in the last two years and have found the store to be overcrowded and disorganized, but that is not the drive behind this review. It’s on the donations side of the store where this location could use some small, but impactful improvement. I’ve made 5 individual drop offs over the last 6 months and on the last two visits (45 days +/-) the person behind the door made zero acknowledgement of my existence other than grabbing a bag from my hands. There was no hello, would you like a receipt, or even just a simple “thank you”. I drove away feeling as though I was a major inconvenience.

I love this store! My mom and I live in Ames but stop in here once in awhile. This store far surpasses the Ames store. It seems cheaper, prices meaning. Better clothes. Great book CD and DVD selection. I found a whole stack of a childhood book series I want to collect again 99 cents apiece! I found concert shirt when I'd been wanting one . I found two seasons of a show Iike and a workout tape by an instructor I love. My one complaint would be look in the cases as both the seasons had missing disc's and I was a bit upset she didn't mark them down. She was nice but the one girl is rude even to my mom who everyone loves. Great place though.

Friendly staff. Very organized inside and a great place to donate! The rear of the building has a drive up drop off that is fast and easy. Don't forget to ask for your charity donation receipt for Iowa tax deductions!

I can usually find at least one thing to buy here. I like to shop for skirts for my daughter here since it’s cheap. I also bought a couple of nice pictures frames for.99 each

Used to be great until new employees, you find an awesome name brand coat only to see it’s not the same price as the rest, it’s got a special sticker for $17 instead of $5.Also with Knick knacks, used to be under $5 for almost anything, now it’s over priced because “well online it would sell for more”I’m not online, I’m at goodwill!

I went to donate items in a torrential downpour. I decided to take my chances going in instead if ring the back door and waiting a bout a minute. The clerk up front didn't want to take it back and instructed me it's preferred if I drive clear to the back and to walk back to the store and ask "them." They told me I have to drive to the back when they could've taken the bag and walked it back.It's frustrating. Im donating items you probably don't want soaked and your staff don't seem to have an ounce of customer service in their bone. I'll go to Salvation Army or a local church next time.

Always find nice items. Clothes are clean and genlty used. They have dressing rooms and big mirrors. They sell everything from furniture, electronics, Knick knacks, vacuums, to boxing gloves and everything in between. Items change frequently. Check them out 😊

The donation area is in the back of the building. I drove by thinking it wasn't back there. The signage isn't great. But if you pull up to the loading dock and ring the door bell someone will come out.

The donation section is the worst I have experienced, normally Good Will has people taking items, you donate. This particular goodwill has you carry everything up the stairs to donate and they direct you on where to put your items.

When it comes to donating it’s a hassle, they won’t help you carry up stuff of the stairs or unload ever.. You are betting driving two more blocks to the Salvation Army and they will help you and are very friendly..
