The Johnson location is neat and staff is friendly. I highly recommend you go to that location then this one. ANKENY location is a disaster! Stock carts everywhere and staff has no knowledge of anything. Staff stressed and it shows. Might as well close this location.

I don't normally go to Ankeny Dollar general but it was the closest to my sons hous. This store was clean and the isles were not clutered could get thru to see everything I needed. The staff was nice and helpful as well my make this my go to store.

This location is a joke. Management obviously doesn't know how to do their job as, there is never enough employees in store, The store is dirty and unorganized, product is constantly left in the walkways in the way of customers, I highly doubt this store would pass a safety inspection by the ankeny fire Marshall. Should just close it down at this point.

People be really careful there a lady on the register the will charge you more always check your receipt she almost charge 30 dollars more to my wife

Needed 4 things...only had 1 item.... so many empty shelf spaces. This store is a complete mess. Carts,merchandise in every aisle. Actually had a corp person call me regarding these same issues...he claimed the store was going to be remodeled within a week...that was atleast 2 months ago. I can not believe that this store is still open! Guess it's Amazon for me.

I absolutely love this Dollar general they treat me like family and I'm not just saying that. Couple times I went in there looking for a last minute mask to pick up my kids from daycare in and they were nice enough just to hand me one from behind the counter. They are always so nice when I come in and super nice when I leave. The environment is probably the main reason that I keep going in there. Love this place.

There's always the stock carts in the way an the manager barks at the employees where the customers can hear it. Wis6 I had corporate phone number I'd call her in. Love the store but wish it could be cleaner.

Nice place not many staff on the register but with the current situation you'd be surprised at what food they carry at a price that beats Walmart.A good place to stock up on tins if your into JUST IN CASE.

Over crowded, not well keep up, kind of creepy even. Struggled to even ptice match the prices posted on their shelves. Just ended up paying extra and not fighting just so I could leave and never bring my business back there. Did I mention the staff wasn't friendly?

This store has everything... great prices.Prices were not accurate and I had to wait awhile for them to fix that. Helpful employees.

Lots of good prices. Grossly under staffed. 15 min apx waiting on check out. Slow service. Only saw 1 employee not even wearing identification indicating that she was an employee. Not a good look for such a great company. Been to many. The one here in ankeny dont go there if you have no patience.

The lighting is poor. It's gloomy in the store. There were many air fresheners but 0 DG brand cartridges to put them. The clerk couldn't tell me when they would be getting more. There's usually only one person running the entire store including cashiering.

Not the friendliest employees. They dash to the back of the store the instant they're done helping customers and fuss at people who have to call out to them to be rung up when they're done shopping. I wonder how many people have just walked out with their stuff?

Usually on OK experience. Was the only customer there and had to wait at the register for someone to ring me out. Wouldn't have been so bad if she was stocking right in front of me pretending I wasn't there.

This dollar store is in need of remodeling. Dark and dingy! Staff will stand out front by doors smoking while customers are inside.

The line was long and only one person taking care of customers. With the virus, you try to get in and get out but, its impossible to do that without having adequate staff.

Very rude manager. Cash register was not ringing up clearance prices correctly and acted as it was our fault. She should not be working there.

Low on product.I had to go look for a cashier to check me out. This man was not at all customer service related. Other times I have been to this store when he was on, same non caring attitude.Not my favorite place but it's the only one in the town I live.

Has to be the dirtiest filthiest unorganized dollar General I have ever been in. I try to avoid it as much as possible. Not to mention there prices are expensive
