Friendly staff, clean, all flavors and mix-ins readily available. Not much more one could ask for when you want some dessert after a good meal. They have plenty of waffle cone selections and even had the special Barbie cup and flavor available for those wanting to go all pink. Will definitely return the next time we are in town and want ice cream.

Coldstone is perfect for having a good time with friends. The staff was very friendly. We went in the afternoon and it wasn't very busy. They have great ice cream and chocolate treats. I highly recommend!

Oh my goodness, I don't even know where to begin! I have been getting cold stone my entire life, with it being a treat every time because I live an hour away from the closest one. When I walked into this cold stone, my husband and I were greeted by Caleb with the happiest hello! We were then given the most hospitality I have ever received at any business I have been to! He offered to let us try flavors and never made us feel like we were asking too much. He then made our order with the happiest pep in his step.The entire experience was perfect thanks to Caleb. This is now my preferred Cold Stone location!

We pretty much love Cold Stone. First thing we always notice when we walk in, is that the place is pretty clean and tidy. Now, for the good stuff. My wife usually gets the Chocolate Devotion, and I get either a chocolate malt, or like on this most recent occasion, a Granny Smith Caramel Apple with Peanuts. Yep, they'll even slice it for you if you want. There are places to sit outside when weather permits. And ... the restrooms are usually pretty tidy! If you follow me, you know we travel extensively, and I make point of restroom condition in many of my reviews. Just as important as the food the serve.Good job, Cold Stone in Prairie Trail area! We enjoyed this visit so much, we came back the following day!

The ice cream quality is satisfactory. The staff is nice, though they sang to me when I tipped them—kind of paradoxical, you’d think if they wanted more tips, they wouldn’t sing, but I digress. The price might be on the expensive end, but it’s what you’d expect.

Had a craving for ice cream, stopped by and bought a couple of pints. The ice cream is excellent and it's fun to watch them mix your order on the cold stone in front of you. The staff is great.

We love this place. Nice selection of ice cream with mix-ins, shakes, smoothies and other confections. There is seating inside and outside. The staff is always nice and give generous proportions. Sometimes it gets crazy at night. But that is expected when you have delicious ice cream with mix-ins.

Ever want to feel like your holding up the line and being hurried when you just get to the counter? This is the place. The kids have no customer service skills. They just come up and and say " what would you like" and eye roll if you don't say the size you want. I came in here with a family of 5 ( 3kids) And felt as if we were being a problem for trying to figure out what everyone wanted when we just got up to the counter. Then they can't even make what we asked for. Then I pay 35-40 for ice cream. The only reason they get two stars is that the brownie was good.

Went in on my birthday and the guy with the red curly hair and the cross around his neck was really rude. He did not give us time to order and plopped my second order on the counter hard enough to have half of the toppings fall off. Was not worth the cost of the ice cream I would expect better customer service.

Stopped for a bite of some high quality ice cream, and decided on the strawberry ice cream, topped with some real strawberries. And it was just as I had wanted ... delicious! However, the "real" treat here today was a young lady behind the counter named Reagan. She had a smile that simply lit up the place, and an attitude that was delightful. Makes a fella want to go back here, not just for the tasty ice cream - but for the genuinely warm service from behind the counter!!

the ice cream was super good and it was a cute little spot, but the staff was not great. it was the first time my friends and i had been there. we obviously didn’t know what we were doing or how to order. no one offered us any help, and they wouldn’t explain anything to us when we did have questions. just looked at us haha. they were also throwing ice everywhere? just make sure you’ve been to cold stone before you go, otherwise it’s chaos.

Stopped by last night with my daughter following a school event. We asked for a sample, but were told they were not available due to Covid-19. My daughter ordered a chocolate truffle ice cream with raspberries, I ordered a shake and we spent $12.80. Mine was as expected, but hers tasted like coffee, which neither of us appreciated. The employees were pleasant and efficient, but didn't inquire as to whether we liked them or not. It's been a year since we've dealt with Covid. I don't understand why you can't provide samples to customers when there is no difference between an employee providing a product to a customer and an employee providing a sample. I'm less inclined to frequent Cold Stone after my experience, and I certainly won't be back until we can sample...

Here's the thing the ice cream is amazing. But I bought a groupon that they just don't take anymore and said that none in my area do anymore so ya know paying $34 basically for 2 adults and 1 toddler wasn't ideal because the $14 I spent on groupon is just basically gone unless theyr either give me the money back or I go to another area in the country that takes my Coldstone groupons. I guess that would've been nice to know first considering groupon says different.

Always come to this place and everything is fine until yesterday, an employee started yelling !Hey you forgot to pay!, when we were leaving, We told her we paid cash to an employee with the red hair, and she said well it didn't go through in the middle of everybody else, then she asked another employee if we were the one we didn't pay...At that time I got upset we showed the receipt and the girl who charged us said to them yes they already paid...all we got it was a sorry it was a confusion!!!! Really you simply don't do that!!! We felt very discriminated just because we were speaking Spanish!!! Never again

Clean place and friendly staff. Covid friendly for the times as well. How can you find something negative about an ice cream store? Enjoy. This location in Ankeny is centrally located on the up and coming area and has a great spot on the Avenue.

I enjoy visiting Coldstone. This location is decent. If you can't find parking in the front, there's an entrance in the back where there's much more parking. My only complaint - they sing when someone leaves a tip. It's just akward for everyone involved.

I went to Cold Stone for the first time and I ordered an Oreo ice cream with Oreos crushed on the top with a large bowl and I couldn’t finish my ice cream because it tasted like pure whip cream/cool whip it was super thick and hard to eat I was really disappointed with how it turned out and to top it all off I had orange stuff in my ice cream not sure what it was but after I left my stomach started to hurt very badly and it made my stomach very upset I hate to say this but I’m probably not going to be coming back

Terrible flavor of Cotten candy ice cream, as it tasted like vanilla w blue food coloring. Carmel apple was thin w Carmel, I could see the green apple under it. Over charged us for extra toppings but did not let us know upfront. If you want ice cream in a cone plan on spending Extra. Very over priced with little flavor!Not going back. If you want a better ice cream and candy go to the valley west mall in DSM Chocolaterie Stam ! There you will leave with a smile and more $ in your pocket!

Love coldstone and quality is always consistent. Why the 1 star? We went for an online order and not one employee had a face mask. I realize the Iowa Govenor thinks the epidemic is over but people serving food should be wearing a mask (so should customers). Why would anyone be serving food in an epidemic without even minimum safety standards.

Pretty good just a little pricey but they did just open two weeks ago. Ice cream was the right consistency and the toppings were fresh. Pretty good.
