I absolutely adore Aldi's prices! And of course I love their aisle of shame! 😉 I've found so many cool treasures! Only downside is that a lot of their inventory is short lived, so if you find something you like it might not be there the next time you go. Prices are far lower than Hy-Vee.

Most items in the store are great and reasonably priced. However, the produce is a problem. More often than not, the produce items are moldy. Moldy grapes, oranges, lemons, tomatoes, etc. They even leave moldy boxes laying around (see picture). Avoid the produce here!

I was so excited when ALDI came to Ankeny. With fresh produce, meats and quality shelf items surpassing other chain stores, ALDI can’t be beat. I usually leave the store surprised at the savings and the number of deals I found. The only caution I can give is be careful of name brand items as they often aren’t the best deals. Here, house brands are king!

Aldis Ankeny is the jam. Not only will you find great prices on food, but all the weird, or unique things you never knew you needed.I feel very safe visiting during this global pandemic. Masks are required by staff and patrons.

It’s very off putting to be putting your change away after check out and feeling the cart being shoved against you so you get out of the way. NOT okay. The checkout clerks don’t need to go above and beyond but they SHOULD at the very least NOT be shoving the cart into my body.

Saved a lot of money here. They have the best selection of cheese in Ankeny Iowa. They now have " Egglife Wraps"!!!! But they sell a terrible sugar substitute ( see pictures) that makes some people very sick. Like sick for two days- sick. It ruined my muffin recipe, tastes bitter, it wasted $$ ingredents. This really bad ingredient is:MALTODEXTRIN ☠️☠️☠️☠️Aldie please stock Swerve!

Best thing to happen to the N. Ankeny Blvd Aldi store is the installation of self check-out lanes for those of us who have just a few things to pick up. Clean store, wide aisles, and the best damn produce section in the city.

Cleaned the meat produce shelves, and fruit produce. Manager was friendly and made sure shelves were cleared and ready to clean and kept an eye on here Temps for fruit produce section. Very on top of things.Overall the store was kept very cleaned. Friendly staff.

Love how much this store has, it’s always well stocked and kept cleaned. The aisles are kept clear from clutter. They offer some mainstay products and a great rotation of seasonal selection. Prices are kept low as you bag your own purchase. Bring your own bags as they cost a few cents but are high quality. The carts take a quarter to use but you get it back if you return it to the corral.

Their web site and shopping on Line is the worst. If they did have gluten free bread I would not shop there. It is out of all the stores where I live. SHAM ON YOU ALDI!!!

Each and every time I come to this store, they're out of something! This time around, for the last two plus weeks, I've been trying to get their uncured beef franks, as my kids love 'em. But, yep, not in stock. And I'm not sure where other reviewers are getting friendly employees. Every time we go in we get non-engaging zombies. When this location opened there were some personable cashiers, but none recently. Maybe we're coming in on the wrong shift, I suppose.Target is still the best store to get groceries at in Ankeny. It's very clean, they always have what I need and also have friendly service. I don't mind paying a bit extra for that!

They’ve recently changed their curbside hours so i’m no longer able to pick my order up at 9. Yet at Walmart, Hy-vee ,and Fareway you can pick up as early as 7. You go to pickup your order and the parking section is full and only one person is bringing out orders running back and forth. Very sad to see. Especially in the heat. I’ve had times where i ordered a second order in the evening because i’ve forgotten something and the same person is still working. Do better Aldi!

I am always one to be skeptical of ALDI, but I was not disappointed with this location. It’s clean, fresh, and always has a lot of choices. There are plenty of good items to choose from and their frozen section has some of the best quick meals I have found. The people are friendly. I will return often because my cupboards and fridge are now quite full.

Love the prices and most of the food items are awesome! We always do our regular shopping here, especially since they have several food items my mom can have. She has multiple food allergies which can make grocery shopping difficult but Aldi's definitely makes it a lot easier!

Nice clean store, helpful staff, great prices and you can find some unusual items that are great quality. We love the differend kinds of cheese they carry. The white cheddar cranberry during the holidays was fantastic!

Absolutely one of my favorite places to shop. This company are able to sell their products cheap because the business is run very smart. I do not consider their brand generic as the quality is as good if not better than most of your top name brands. If you are looking to save money on household essentials, this place is right for you. Also shopping their on a wed. Or Thur. Is ideal for the maximum discounts you can find. This is when they bring new product in and try to get older product out. Look for the red stickers for these deals. Highly recommend giving them a try! You will be amazed at the quality for the prices they offer their products!

This particular Aldi's did not carry the brand of pizza I eat due to dietary needs. I thought this Aldi's would carry the brand since another Aldi's does. A staff member was not very helpful. I was disappointed I made the trip for nothing.

Very good prices, if you don't mind name-brand products, for the most part. Really no-frills, bare bones place, but the low prices are worth it. Biggest criticism is that product availability is not consistent, sometimes you find something really good, only to not find it again. But the common items are generally available, so it's not a huge problem. Overall, well worth it to get most items.

This is a new Aldis and it's a very nice store. I get all of my paper plates, napkins, garbage bags, plastic wrap etc. here. Way cheaper and the quality is as good as brand names. Been buying quite a bit of chicken here as well when it's on special. The produce is also good.

I actually used to enjoy shopping here. But since the install of the self checkout lines, the flow and convenience of the store is chaotic and miserable. I shopped at Aldi believing it was different then other stores, but it's more of the same. Very disappointed.

You can't beat the prices. Produce and meat are often extremely underpriced compared to hyvee. Produce is mostly very good, but I haven't found their avocados to be that great.Marinated salmon is delicious and a good price point.Limited variety and a small, sometimes crowded store. Go during nonpeak hours.

Good sized store. Eclectic selection of items. The ALDI Finds section always has something of interest. I rarely experience out of stocks here.
