Pricey. Poor location. Inadequate parking. The employees are wonderful and the goods are undeniable high-quality, so that's nice. UPDATE: Since first posting my review this store has moved into a new location on So. Duff - with LOTS of parking and much better access.

I went in and the gentleman helped me find the finch feed I needed, walked me through renewing my membership and offered to help me take my bags to my vehicle. Great store with a lot of options. It may be higher price than some places but the higher quality of items and seed makes up for it.

We stopped in here while in the area yesterday and had the loveliest experience! We are from the Madison WI area and have been WBU members for over 8 years, but this was our first visit to the Ames IA location! Everyone was super friendly and helpful, and if we are ever in the area again will definitely stop by! Highly suggest this location to anyone needing bird food or supplies in Ames!

This is a hidden gem in Ames! Quality of products and customer service could not be better. I live in Des Moines and will gladly make the trip to Ames to get all my supplies here. They go out of their way to help you with what you need. Highly recommend! A+

Something for everyone. My birds appreciate the treats we bring home, and we get to play with the shop mascot, Butterscotch the doodle. In addition to seeds and feeders, they have some gifts and yard accessories, especially around the holidays.
