Perfectly normal visit to any Walmart, lots of people looking for cheap products. Was disappointed they did not have any laundry detergent sheets, only pods and liquid. But I was pleasantly surprised they did have wool dryer balls.

Good selection. Not overly friendly though. Just your standard Wal-mart. They do have quite a few self checkouts, so getting in and out is pretty easy which is nice.

Originally went to Target for a kids bike and they were sold out. This Walmart had exactly what we didn't know we needed: a second bike and a rack! Very happy with the selection and polite service! (Kid and dog not included!)

Went here to pickup a graduation party cake on behalf of my mother. I stated my name for pickup. Apparently my mother was unable to reach them by phone to authorize me to pick up the cake on her behalf and I wasn't aware of this. I waited for the three employees to finish their discussion before I was spoken to for service. Two of them heard me and one went in back to check for the cake. The pink-haired individual walked back to the counter and told me I gave her the wrong name. Before I could say anything (such as give her my mother's name), she turned back around and walked away. Why a person would put effort into being that way, I don't know. Fortunately, I'm here from our of state and won't be back to this location. The second employee was actually helpful by asking what the cake looked like. The correct cake was found and picked up. Not surprised about the service though. This is Walmart after all. Low prices. Even lower expectations. It doesn't seem to matter which part of the country I'm in. This is my general experience no matter which state in within.

Bought a $100 gift card back in electronics. No one told me that gift cards weren't activating at registers. Get home try to use it and it's not active. Called electronics and a supervisor said to come to the service desk and they'll take care of it. It's an hour round trip for me. I get here and walk in and am told the service desk is closed. Spoke to Irit and was told nothing could be done. No solution offered what-so-ever. Had to call a corporate number to get a solution.

Great to overnight with your RV when you're traveling through this area. Have overnighted here several times. Well lighted parking area. Reasonably quiet. Walking distance, less than 2 blocks, to approximately 8 to 10 eating establishments. Had good dinner tonight at HuHot Mongolian Grill just across the street. Plus Walmart is 24/7 and they have anything that your heart desires to eat in your own RV.

Lady at customer service with the long black hair and I think glasses on today’s date around 5:45ish was very snotty. I needed a money order to get cash off my debit card that wasn’t working at ATM’s. She argued that that’s “not what they are intended for” and had to argue against her personal opinion to have one sold to me. She wasn’t even a part of the transaction and decided to give her input into a situation she had nothing to do with. She then tried to say my Walmart debit card won’t work without even knowing what kind of card it is. Long story short it worked just fine.The lady at the register was very nice and helped me get my money order. The other lady said I can’t cash it at Walmart because it won’t work right away in a very unpleasant tone. I don’t know what she thinks customer service is, but that was not it. Very rude from her, very nice from the lady at the register.

The college students always eat this place completely dry once they come back into town. The only thing you can find here anymore is healthy food, which the college students don't touch. Additionally, they absolutely wreck the place, the employees try to keep it clean but it's impossible when you've got 20,000 tiktok prank videos being filmed in the store each day where the students just knock things off the shelves and run away giggling

Experience was ok if u like not finding a employee to help you also be sure to use the Walmart app and price scanner feature while here as you will find hidden deals and clearance highly recommend also if you didn't know their frozen food section for Asian food is impressive but maybe pizza is your thing they now have Greta vaule brand stuffed crust pizza pepperoni cheese etc for about $7.67

I have been going to this Walmart location for a year, but recently, my shopping experiences have been consistently negative. The self-checkout personnel persistently harass me for a five-star review, making each visit uncomfortable. It doesn't matter if I go early or late at night to avoid crowds – the pressure remains.I prefer self-checkout to minimize interactions, but they stand next to me, urging for positive feedback. It's not the workers' fault; I blame their supervisors and the flawed approach to measuring customer service. This pursuit of five-star reviews creates an unwelcoming atmosphere and takes away from an otherwise peaceful shopping experience.I hope Walmart reevaluates their practices and focuses on genuine customer satisfaction rather than chasing arbitrary ratings. Until then, I will seek alternative shopping options to avoid such unnecessary discomfort during my visits.

I never wrote a Walmart review before but I had a really good experience recently at this location and I had to share it. I'm NOT all about only writing BAD REVIEWS about people. If something is good I like to let the sun 🌞 shine through. Don't need to rain everyday. Anyway, I went to money services/ customer service at this Walmart.I had to send money to family and I was having some problems to send it. ALEX was GREAT 👍. Young guy, 20s, but mature like 60s. Very patient, professional, polite and courteous. Walmart is super lucky to have this guy because he should be, and could be, and I hope he will be working at some great corporate job one day as a operations manager or supervisor. Also, the Walmart store was a good shopping experience. Seems like some good decent people working at this location. Very NICE 👍 people. They even helped me find the beans and spinach. I try to eat healthy. I do my best. It's difficult sometimes. Too much good food and chocolate everywhere. Hahaha 😀. But I try. Anyway, I had no problems with shopping and everything was organized very well with great prices. I spent a little over $100 dollars and got enough food for 2 weeks. Because I'm CHEAP, I only eat ONE MEAL a DAY, and I'm SINGLE with NO CHILDREN.So I only need to feed ONE PERSON...... ME.MORE money, LESS stress. I'm good 😊I wish Alex Good luck in the future and GOD BLESS 🙏. Great job Brother, and Thank You.

it’s a walmart in ames, if you’re expecting sincerely nice and courteous workers you’re in the wrong state. regardless, the shopping experiences are always painless, the only time you absolutely need to interact with the workers is when you’re either checking out (say bye to that btw, they’re gonna remove all the cashiers and replace them with self checks) or getting something that’s locked. and god help you if you run into the electronics manager who’s convinced that thermal paste is a scam and that you should simply ‘ put the computer on a pillow to cool it down ‘. gee, thanks, lemme just plop my $2k rig ontop of this pillow, cheers. despite all this, they always seem to have just the reich prices, the white and powerful price signs always catch my eye, and sometimes the deals are so surprising that i could generally not-see them coming. thanks, herr walton.

They have food that expired 3 weeks ago on the shelves. Check the expiration dates because the employees can't be bothered. Enjoy the future lawsuit from food poisoning. The Store Manager is probably overweight, just a guess

They had awesome stock On memorial day weekend which I thought was awesome! Would recommend this store. The staff was very friendly and helpful and had plenty of the produce that we wanted for our get together.
