Wanted to support local so drove past Starbucks and popped in here. Jonathan greeted me right when I walked through the door, quickly made my two drinks and when I forgot and added a 3rd drink, he was great and did that one too with no complaining. Kept great conversation the whole time.Super cute little hidden place but we'll worth it. All the drinks were amazing too ❤️

Innamoratissimo! The city’s definitive hole in the wall cafe downtown, under what was the old Bike World / Two Wheel Travel on Kellogg and Main. Great aesthetic, not too big nor too small. NOT wheelchair accessible due to the almost microscopic stairway into the place. Menu features all of the staples of a drinks-only cafe, including unique lattes and dozens of flavors for Italian sodas. The place can be packed one minute and empty the next, so plan accordingly. The staff are great and knowledgeable about their products.

The Vinyl Cafe is a must visit in Ames. It has a ton of interesting records to flip through and look at. The owner/barista is awesome, friendly and attentive - wish I caught his name. There is some of the most uniquely crafted coffees you'll find here - I had a banana and hazelnut latte that tasted just like a banana. The menu is extensive, so take your pick. They have free wifi and power outlets for those wishing to study or get work done. Great hangout spot. Fantastic background music.Highly recommend!

The best part about this place is the atmosphere and the coffee. The record selection isn't expansive but throws a few surprises at you now and again. Try the Barry White!

LOVE this place!! I brought my friend here this past weekend since I've been dying to check it out, and I'm so glad we went. They're just starting to make coffee again but the owner, Blake, let us come in and look at all of the vinyl they have. We ended up staying for about two hours just talking about music! Definitely will start going on a regular basis!

Best coffee and coffee blended drinks in Story County. Why spend more for bad coffee elsewhere when you can get excellence for less here? They will happily make you something off-menu too. A great selection of LPs and good, used stereo equipment. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. It's a small place and popular, so there can sometimes be a bit of a wait but the quality of the coffee makes it worthwhile. Quirky, fun, eclectic, locally owned little shop. One of Ames' hidden gems.

Great little privately-owned coffee shop. Prices are fantastic. If street parking is unavailable, you can park in the lot behind the building. The place sells vinyl records and coffee, it's that simple. The walls are frequently decorated with local artists. The owner, Blake, and all of the people he hires are always super friendly, love music, and love coffee. I highly recommend it. As far as I know, the current hours are 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. Mon.-Sat. & I'm not sure about Sunday's hours.. But I know they're open.

The *best* cold brew in town and Blake makes a tremendous latte! Love flipping through the vinyl and hearing about what's going on around town!Dietary restrictions: Oat Milk is the dairy alternative option.

Best coffee shop I've ever been to! The owner and staff are always friendly and helpful, and the coffee can't be beaten. You can't go wrong with anything you order. It's a great place to hang out, work, write, or add to your music collection. Vinyl is also incredibly supportive of local artists and musicians, and hosts weekly all-ages open mics that are always fun to attend.

The best barista in town! Delicious drinks and the ability to create your own flavor combinations. A great place to catch up with friends on a Sunday afternoon. If you haven't been here, you need to check it out!

Great coffee and vibes. The owner is really kind and is a great barista. It is loud and sometimes busy, but is a great place to hang out and socialize or study if you don't need the quiet.

A very fun and friendly place. We received pretty quick service too. The quality of coffee is very low. The drip coffee was old and very weak. My mother ordered a latte with an extra shot, and she also felt that her coffee was weak. I wouldn’t recommend it to you if you’re looking for good coffee.

Just moved to Ames and was looking for a nice, local coffee shop not overrun by corporate advertising. Vinyl Cafe is an awesome spot downtown to grab a tasty cup and look through vintage records. Reminds me of my favorite coffee spots when I lived in NOLA and Athens, GA. Owner was super friendly.

Menu covers the basics needed for a coffee shop. No real "frilly" specialty drinks. Limited seating so can be difficult to get a table if they're busy. I had an Americano and it was excellent. I'll definitely be back.
