We came here for the black sales. The store was put together nicely. We saved on a new Carhartt coat. Some of the savings were not as great as advertised and a big sad thing was some dated coffee on the shelf.

When I go to a Theisens, it almost has an old-time feel. A lot of "hello sir" / "pardon me, gentlemen" / "did you find everything all right?". I like that people are polite here. I had a negative experience about six months ago, but since then I have been to this establishment multiple times. The staff is so friendly, patient and helpful. I buy most of my firearms here and I really appreciate the staff at the gun counter.

Curiosity brought me through the doors and I was not disappointed! My first impression was a battery of garden tillers all in a row and ready for spring. Everything you need plus Baby Chicks and all the stuff to care for them.

Customer service--what customer service? After driving across town multiple times to find rawhide dog treats out of stock, I looked up the item number and called the store to ask if they could look up the item on the computer to see if it was back in stock. If in stock, I would have jumped in the car for another trip across town to their store. But no, they can't look it up--but they transfer me to the pet department worker--who never comes to the phone. Enough. I should not have to work this hard to give you money. I will find another source.

My husband, who is a Veteran, and I saw a good deal in the Theisen's ad for a battery operated drill with 2 batteries, a charger & 1/2 drill for $99. The ad also said 11% off for Veterans. We went and picked out the drill and a few other items. At the checkout they would not honor the 11% because it was on- sale. No where in the ad was a disclaimer about 'excludes sale items'. Needless to say, he did not get 11% off. We were very disappointed and felt disrespected.

This place is super fun place to go shopping for your business needs and also has plenty of stuff for your kids and outdoor projects as well. I would definitely suggest coming here for any farm equipment or work clothing that you might need.

I found a squirrel call! I figured that would be a catalog-only kind of thing, but Theisen’s had it right there on the pegs!Also found some dental chews for my dog so maybe my squirrel will make it through cleaning so the people can try it. 🙂The cashier and all of the employees were friendly and attentive, as always. The popcorn was fresh, too!

I want to like this store but the prices seem high when compared to the local competition. The free popcorn is great and the staff is usually friendly. Nice selection of guns.

I often shop here when I am in the Ames area. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Today I needed to obtain a copy of a receipt from a purchase made over a week ago. Hannah was more than accommodating. She was prompt in contacting me once I made the request, expeditiously located a copy of the receipt and took the extra time to follow up after sending to make sure it had been received via e-mail. Thanks for the great customer service Hannah!

This place has what you need and has what you don't need right now. A few times, I have not found what I needed. If you need it, it's probably there. Please give us a better way to cut the chain.

I called to inquire if they carry a certain brand of dog food and the worker on the phone was very rude and just told me “I don’t know”. I thought it was pretty rude to not even check for me, but I said thank you anyways, to which her response was “yup” and proceeded to hang up the phone on me immediately after. Extremely poor customer service.

One of the most unsafe and cracked up parking lots i have ever seen. You cannot safely push a shopping cartto your car without it getting stuck or practically throwing all your items out. I would hate to be someone with a disability and cannot walk easily. Im surprised older people are not constantly falling and injuring themselves on it.

Best place for me to get black oil sunflower seeds. Everything eats these seeds. Not only are they excellent feed for a large variety of birds, but a lot of other critters eat them too.I get my propane there. They sell Carhart. Check out lanes are slow and service is horrible.

Shopping was good. But, I require the use of mobility scooters. They had 2 that I saw, and both didn't have factory plug-ins on them. One even had a wire sticking out of it. I can't think that is safe.

I wanted to give them a 2.5-2.75 rating, but due to the staff in the hardware & sporting goods departments I am giving it a 3.Pro's - location, parking, hours, clothing selection good, hunting/sporting goods department & staff are friendly and knowledgeable.Con's - store is always dirty, never find staff in other departments when you need to or if you are in a hurry to get in and out over the lunch hour the cashiers are super slow and unmotivated to move quickly.Overall, only reason I go to this store is cause it is the only one in my area and am visiting it less and less also noticing like every other store their prices have been gradually going up for years. I will keep my expectations low when I shop their again less frequently in the future.

Outstanding service Dave the farm area manager is getting us 9ea 100' rolls of 12.5 gage 2" x 4" 5ft or 60" tall wire fencing. Works very well to keep us informed on availability, status, and expected delivery date. Could not ask for more. Thank you very much.
