I took my two kittens here for a respiratory infection appointment and also for a separate spaying appointment. The vets/techs at this place are wonderful. They also care a lot about the animals and I can tell that they put a lot of their own resources into the care they provide. It’s also a small place, but I could tell they put the animals first. Probably the best vet I’ve been to.Juno and Ophelia say thank you 👍

If I could give no stars I would… the lady who works at the front desk is wonderful. However, the vet is awful. She criticizes people and has a very rude way of talking to people. She’s very pushy with procedures we have told her multiple times we are not comfortable with. They only take cash… which is weird and the place is not kept clean (which is why I was uncomfortable getting surgeries done there) Vaccines are one thing surgery on the other hand needs to be done in a VERY CLEAN space to avoid infection. I can see if maybe you needed life saving surgery and to save a couple bucks but it’s almost the same price as any other vet and they don’t judge you (out loud) when you tell them you don’t want your old dog to be neutered. After talking to my friends about this, they also had the same experience.

Every time I visit with my dog (who is a pretty nervous dog) I just can't believe how nice and how genuinely caring the staff here is. They do such a great job and provide services and meds for totally affordable prices. The dog is taken care of, I'm greeted and treated with kindness. Honestly, I look forward to visits and couldn't recommend more highly.

They have always taken amazing care of my dogs! Last night we had an emergency with our Australian shepherd and Dr Houlding helped us out even though it was late and after hours. I love knowing that they will always be there for our pets and love them like we love them. The best clinic in town!

I don’t go to this vet. I had asked a question if they offer a surgical procedure service because my current vet doesn’t offer that service. The vet had called me back and I gave her my question. I didn’t realize the question I had given her would lead to her criticizing me on why I wanted it. It was about giving my dog a vasectomy. My dog doesn’t have behavioral issues. He’s super calm/well behaved and it was an alternative to neutering. She told me “I can…” in a tone that was not reassuring. If you could why didn’t you answer it to begin with instead of making a choice that I want to do with my dog a big deal. So I said in the end, “All I asked was if you offered that service. If you don’t I’ll ask around somewhere else.” She said “ok” and hung up. No, have a good day just hangs up. Next call I made to a different vet they offered it in desmoines with no questions asked and has good reviews. Talk about rude service from a vet who is claiming they can do something when they probably haven’t. I forgot the doctors name but she was an older female. All I have to say is you don’t have to agree with other peoples decisions but you also shouldn’t be rude. Maybe be open minded to the idea because there is a lot of money in that procedure. Also, if I did want to neuter him later on I could. That would still be an option. Don’t treat other people the way you treated me. I didn’t do anything but asked a simple yes or no question.

They are wonderful! I am so thankful for the kind, and caring staff there. My new puppy had some health issues as soon as we got her. I was quite stressed about it and they took the time to answer my many questions over the phone on several occasions to put my mind at ease, and got her in right away on a Saturday! They are very honest and fair with their pricing and just plain lovely to deal with.

We used to get our animals taken care of here. Unfortunately a few years back I was not at all impressed with how cluttered, smelly and dirty the clinic was.We switched to a different vet and have loved it so much more

Nevada veterinary clinic is out and Story County Veterinary is in. Always has been for me but I've convinced my boyfriend to use her also and to drop Nevada Veterinary Clinic. And just in time. Puppy is being saved as I write this and only because Story County Veterinary cares and isn't so quick to write them off. Thankyou06/26/2023 UPDATE:Both Skittles( 11months, 26 days old kittys)had appointments just for shots and I still would NOT take them anywhere else. Love the Vet (Lil crabby and out of sorts today) and love Vet Tech Ashley and still think her title should be known as the Vet. Wonderful

Absolutely love this vet. Very reasonable prices, works hard to make sure my pets are comfortable. Asked about how my cats were when I made an appointment for my new dog to make sure they weren't stressed. I truly appreciate them going the extra mile for care. They really work hard to get me in immediately for all of my fur babies. Only vet my pets aren't afraid of. They must be doing something right.

I haven't been here for a few years, but my experience wasn't the greatest then. I felt they were a little condescending. However, when I called recently to get records for my dad's dog, they were very polite and accommodating. Maybe things have gotten better!😃

Great vet, very good prices for procedures, cheapest place for flea medication. They are always busy, so be prompt for appointments, and be patient, they could double the staff and still be constantly busy. Also cash or check only, no cards

Always reliable _ I have had them for years! LeAnn is top-notch office manager and she will make sure your pet is taken care of. The vets are great here too. All my dogs were eager to come to see this vet. Cats not so much!

I have taken my dog here for the past 5yrs and have always felt comfortable with the staff. I like hearing the birds talking in the back and occasional bark or meow. The prices for any procedures and medications are always fair. The tips and advice I have recieved from these two ladies tho is priceless!

Above and beyond care. My kitten needed an amputation and Leanne took her home with her to nurse her and updated me regularly with photos and messages. I also was a foster and have nothing but good things to say about their relationship with rescues. Then there's the tremendous job they do with their TNR program and it's obvious they're there for the animals. Couldn't ask for a more caring & compassionate team.

we took our 2 yr old 150lb pet potbelly pig into this vet. found the care to be superior!!. our boy was sore and grumpy after and to be expected. the receptionist was a sweetheart and explained what we needed to do per Dr's orders and even followed up the next day. theses ladies are great people! give amazing care and know what they are doing.

We live on an acreage and have some farm kitties. The staff at story County vet clinic do an amazing job helping to take care of our farm cats. The prices are very reasonable and they really care about the animal’s welfare.

We absolutely love going here. We've been bringing our pets here forever. Dr. Houlding and Ms. Leanne are so sweet and they always take care of our animals. They remember their names every time and our pets seem to love being held by them but loves fighting us 😊Just to show how amazing this Vet Clinic is. My Guinea Pig was sick last week so they squeezed him in on Friday. Not only did Dr. Houlding call me back on Sunday to give me advice, she also planned on having me bring both of my Guinea Pigs in on Monday even though they were already booked. Unfortunately, my Guinea Pig passed away Sunday afternoon. I texted Dr. Houlding that same evening to let her know that he didn't make it. She called me at 10:35pm just to give her condolences and offered to take care of the cremation for us. Anyone who knows me knows I am a die hard animal lover so for them to go out of their way to help was nothing short of amazing 😊

Dr. Holding is a very experienced country vet of over 30 years. She has clipped my MaCaw's nails, stopped bowling to treat our Manx at 10pm at night and taken great care of all 3 of our cats. She is very thorough with your pets. I grew up on the farm and prefer an expierenced Farm Vet to a Boutique Vet. Her prices are amazingly affordable. Even her after hours charges on our Manx Peniel were reasonable. She loves what she does and it shows. She explains everything in lay mans terms. I have encouraged many friends and family to go to her. I don't care if there is hair on the seats in the clinic. I grew up with the Vet coming right to the farm and doing procedures in our barn.
