The hotel is nice, but they're charging astronomical rates because they're directly across the street from a 3 star hotel. And they don't warrant that. I was there for a tradeshow, and they had a couple dozen kids running amuck at the pool until well after 11pm. Not until I called the front desk did anyone do anything about it. This was 2 nights in a row. Honestly the best part about it was that the breakfast was good.

This place is not a pleasant hotel. It has a terrible smell, it is dingy and dark. The pool was not open during posted hours. We asked to use the pool Friday night, and the front desk lady unlocked the gate at 940pm. The pool was freezing, but my kids were able to deal with the cold. The front desk lady came back at 958pm and told us she needed to close the pool and we had to vacate the pool area. Would not recommend this hotel.

We were very happy with our current stay. Customer Service was excellent. Once I got into my room they even called our room to see if we were happy with the room and if we needed anything. Never had anyone do that before. I noticed at breakfast they kept up with making sure the food items were full and wiping and cleaning up. They even told us the times of breakfast but if we couldn’t make it thru that time they would accommodate us. The Pool and hot tub area was very well kept up and clean. We would stay at this hotel again.Rooms: Our room was very clean

The receptionist seems friendly at first but did not listen to my request to be put in a clean and quiet room. There were several obvious issues with the room. It smelled old and smokey and when I took a shower the water for the shower was cold! Not even close to being warm or as hot as it should be! What a terrible way to be treated after driving for 20 hours. I also noticed the fan in the room was not functioning properly and on top of those other obvious issues, I was placed in a room directly next to a loud and rambunctious group of contractors after specifically asking the lady at the front desk to put me in a quiet room and to not be next to them as I watched them carry in 24 pack cases of beer to their room. I only take the time to write a review and leave feedback when there are legitimate issues and I genuinely as a business owner myself feel that a refund would have been appropriate. There is little to no attention to detail at this hotel. I checked out after only 30 minutes in my room and was not offered a refund. I would advise anyone reading this to spend a little bit more and go somewhere else besides this 1 star hotel.

I am very displease. We stayed here last Friday and what a mess. We asked for a jacuzzi room. We needed it due to our lengthy travel. When I turned on the jets, of what I was told, of a newly remodeled tub...... the jet shot water out over the top of the filled tub. It soaked everything from the tub clear to the other side of the room. We asked to be moved. The next room was horrible! We weren't discounted for the down grade as we were told. I asked to have a Manger call me and still no call. Rotten service!Update (1/27) I have called & left to more message for the manager. No call back still!

I booked a reservation through a 3rd party site over 2 weeks before my trip at a great rate. I received email confirmation that my reservation was confirmed the next day. Then, today, 3 days before my trip, I received an email from the 3rd party site that my reservation was canceled. I tried to call the hotel multiple times with no answer. I called Choice hotels customer service, who could see no reason documented for the cancelation. After 45 minutes, the Choice hotels representative finally got ahold of someone at the hotel, and they said that my reservation was canceled because they didn't want to honor that rate anymore. I was told that the reservation was canceled on the day it was made, but after talking to the 3rd party site, it turns out that was a LIE. The 3rd party site received notification TODAY that my reservation had been canceled. Had it truly been cancelled or rejected when I initially made it I would be way more understanding, but now I am scrambling to find somewhere to stay last minute and looking at spending $300+ more for the weekend. I would never recommend this hotel or any Choice hotel to anyone after this experience.

Rooms were okay but the overall facilities looked like they hadn't been properly cleaned in months. My room didn't have have bedbugs but did have stink bugs. I saw some small blood stains on the bed sheets which was concerning. There are probably bedbugs in some of the rooms and my sheets came from one of those rooms. The breakfast was your standard hotel breakfast. No rollaway beds. The owner was very nice, she talked to me about my trip. I would stay at the much nicer hotel across the street.

We stayed here for almost a week due to my significant others job. This hotel is not as pictured online as far as room we had. Was dirty, smelled horribly of pot and cigarette smoke in halls. Outside doors did not lock. Bath tub looked dirty. Air conditioner was loud and rattled badly. Beds were not at all comfortable.Breakfast lack anything to desire. Looked like microwave foods if even that. The last night we stayed there were bus loads of teenagers staying for a special event that next day, they were running up and down the halls, yelling and being rowdy.Front desk was more concerned with a paper she had to write for her class than our concerns. Thankfully the kids did quiet down about 10pm which was nice. Before you all think im some Karen just complaining let me explain that I have stayed in several hotels over the last year and this was one of the worst. If the room had not been paid for in advance we would have went somewhere else. This place needs a lot of work.Rooms: Dingy, not very clean, need major updating.Safety: Outside doors to halls did not lock, trash and broken glass around property. Didnt feel safe.

The floor was sticky, the shower looked unclean, and there was a stain on our bed. Other than those things, our room was nice and we slept well. The breakfast options were okay, they didn't have anything special but it was alright. The pool looks a lot bigger in the pictures as well. Lastly, many places smelled of smoke. It wasn't the best, but it could have been worse.

We stayed here for a few nights in between moving houses. One front desk attendant was very short and rude to me when we arrived, the other two were very pleasant. We were placed in a room with a broken and extremely loud banging AC and asked to switch. The attendant said they were completely booked (but there were empty parking lots and I hadn't seen but 5 people in total in the hotel) and couldn't make a switch happen. After they talked to their supervisor, we were able to switch rooms with a much quieter AC. Rooms were okay, but maybe could be a bit cleaner or nicer looking with paint/caulking. Pool was shallow and had floating stuff in it. Breakfast was standard. Exterior door next to our room wasn't locked, which was unsettling. We also had dogs with us, and there was glass shattered in the parking lot. Be careful if you bring little ones or pets here!We were in a bind looking for a place to stay on short notice, but I likely won't stay here again because of the factors above.

The apartment complex put us up here when we had heating issues in our building.The staff was great to work with and the room was supremely comfortable. Breakfast was also good! There's a fitness center you can access with your room key as well. Even laundry machines.One thing that'd be nice to see is a bike rack for those of us who use Ebikes.

We got stuck traveling for Christmas due to the snow storm. The staff was extremely courteous and kind. The owner is also super nice. The hotel was quiet and clean. The breakfast was pretty good. Also they accept dogs.Rooms: The room was clean and looked like it was updated recently.Noteworthy details: The hotel has an indoor pool area.

Excellent sleep and hotel, but the staff quality was poor.Examples:1). Breakfast was completely out at 9:00am even though it was scheduled until 9:30. Only thing available was waffles.2). ZERO clean towels in the pool area.3). There was no coffee maker in the room even though you were supplied with coffee.4). They did come around at 11:20 to tell us to check out. So, very quick to call us out there but not on the ball to restock the amenities. It was 11:20 and we were almost out of the room; we had to wait longer for breakfast so that was the reason we were delayed.5). With that said, the mattress was firm and comfortable and the shower water hot.The room cost was $86.49 for the night from Saturday night until Sunday morning.Quality of the stay was a 5/10; taste if breakfast was a 4/10; value of what you received versus the cost was an 8/10. That’s 17/30 = 56.667 =56% = F.I would not stay again.

Was given a significant extra charge at check in for paying with a debit card which I was not at all made aware of beforehand. (What else am I supposed to pay with???) My stay was fine, room was clean, and they had a very nice breakfast. However I really DIDN’T like the fact that all doors leading into the building were unlocked (pretty unnecessary security risk if you ask me). If you’re okay with paying extra at check in (unless you pay cash or credit) and risking unknown assailants entering the building, it’s a perfectly fine place to stay in.

We have stayed several times. The front desk area is nice and updated. The rooms were clean, but the bathrooms could use some attention. It is convenient having the restaurant and bar so close as well.The pool area is fantastic and convenient. HOWEVER, we were very disappointed with how cold the water was. We had young children and were staying in a hotel mainly to swim. The adults were not able to swim let alone the kids because of how freezing cold the water was. There were several other groups that tried to swim and could not. It was mentioned to the front desk and the only solution was they shut down the pool. No attempt made to warm the water.

Worst hotel stay, ever. Many of the rooms, like ours, surround a lovely poolside courtyard. The noisy, screaming kids echoing right outside our window ended at 10. But the 30 or so people who were left without a place to party when the bar closed at 11, made themselves right at home poolside. They would have been there until sunrise had I not complained to them directly. The front desk was apologetic, but made no effort to rectify. No sleep whatsoever. Bathroom had mold in the shower caulk, rusty fixtures, the bath towels had frayed edges. Went to the attached steakhouse for dinner, which was completely empty on a Saturday at 6 pm. When we were presented with hand-written menus and told they were out of many items because their food shipment hadn’t arrived, we understood why. Couldn’t tell you how the food was, we didn’t risk it. I’ve stayed across the street at the Holiday Inn. Pay the few extra dollars to go there instead.

I'd put negative stars if I could. Rooms smell like urine. (I say rooms because we asked for a different one.) Second was better smelling, but the towels are dirty with what looks like feces. Sheets are gross and we can't stop itching. Then we found a pair of dirty underwear by our microwave!!!! 🤢 The pool looks like it's growing stuff in it. All of our clothes went into a garbage bag right away in fear of bringing any little bugs/creatures from this hotel back into our home. Very disappointed and grossed out. This hotel needs new management and a whole new cleaning crew, if there is even one at all.

The bed, lounge, lobby and pool areas are 4.5 but the bathroom is like 2.5 it's rather strange. Overall great experience and a good value. I would say the bathrooms need updating and the sinks should have more counter space. But the layout of the room was nice so I under stand architectural restrictions.

Checked in 5pm. Room across from pool. Noisy, but ok. Small pool. Pictures make it look bigger. A/C unit in room was broken. The window was left open as this was likely an ongoing problem. Front desk said it was working great before, no complaint from previous guest. They said they’re full and can’t move us and they will get a part to repair it. Right, 530 on a Saturday night and they are going to find the necessary part. They were gonna string us along til we didn’t feel like leaving, hoping we’d stay. Bottom floor with a window open. I don’t think so. Needless to say, we did get a refund and moved to a different hotel. Thankfully, it wasn’t a football weekend or we would’ve been screwed. Never again

The stay was awful. I stayed for 3 days. Room was not cleaned all weekend they never came and to make bed or replace towels. Asked for housekeeping several times but room was not cleaned. They ran out of toilet paper and tried to provide tissues instead since they had not got their shipment in two weeks and that they would be out till Monday when the new shipment. To top it off the breakfast buffet had mold on there biscuits. :(. I do not remmond staying at the hotel. When paying over $100 a night you would expect a better experience.......I refuse to pay full price....

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was clean with a large single bed. The problem I encountered is that there is a swimming pool on the first floor and all the rooms look out on it. On both Friday and Saturday night, there were children as well as teenagers, squealing, laughing, yelling and even playing catch from the mezzanine with friends on the first floor around the pool.Very noisy and the noise continued until about 11 pm each night. This layout made for a noisy environment and a lack of privacy.

Mostly good. Room and hotel was very clean. Staff was friendly. I had to check in very late and they held the room. Room was very hot. I visited in January and ran the AC the whole time I was there. I tried to open a window but it opened to the atrium and all I could smell was the pool. Breakfast room was in a weird place but variety of food was great. Overall it was a good place. I would stay again but maybe in the summer so the room is cooler.

This used to be a nice hotel but has definitely gone downhill! The lack of water pressure was unbelievable, not even enough to rinse the shampoo out of your hair nor flush the toilet. Very noisy as well. Breakfast selection is okay at best but the number of employee's children/family (and it appeared to be a few friends) far outnumbered the paying guests. We stay 1 if not 2 nights for every home football game plus numerous nights throughout the year and definitely will not be returning to this hotel!

Stayed for 2 nights while visiting family. We got upgraded to the King suite because they had overbooked. The room was really clean and spacious. The pull out couch was not very comfortable but the King bed was very relaxing.Breakfast was the usual continental plus waffles, sausage, biscuits, gravy, and fried eggs. I thought the breads and bagels were mostly white. I have become used to seeing wheat breads, english muffins and bagels.The only thing that I didn't like was that the hallways were musty and chlorine smelling. We stayed on the second floor that is open to the pool area (it has sections with balconies that look over the pool). The rooms were fine, not musty or humid.

Room reeked of air freshener - it was an interior room facing the pool courtyard, so there was no window to open and let fresh air in. I left with a headache and an irritated throat.Bathroom and sheets were clean, but the floors were not vacuumed and lamps and fixtures were gross.

Room was nice, but the shower left much to be desired as the showerhead was too low (I'm under 6 foot) and the controls were unnecessarily complex. The breakfast was okay but the pancake and waffle machines were a hassle with 5 to 6 people waiting at a time and just not working.

A women at the front desk was rude, and wouldn’t refund money, give me a credit, or let me change my reservation date when I made an honest mistake of booking the wrong location. There are plenty of other hotels to stay at in Ames that are more accommodating.
