In a time where great customer service is hard to find, today my husband and I were extremely impressed by the interaction we had at Petco with Trent. It was refreshing to have someone truly demonstrate their passion and knowledge for what they do with their customers. Thank you, Trent for be such a genuine human. Keep spreading that positivity!

I only have good things to say for the Ames store. My person is amazing with my big girl. Remy gets so excited to see her every time.Everyone there who has helped in grooming my big girl is wonderful and so patient. I love the added touches like putting in bows are so cute. Thanks so much. I would recommend them to my friends and family over and over.Having great patience with my big standard size poodle girl is a must, and Ames Petco groomer "J" does an amazing job every time. She is so good with my poodle that I never have a worry about anything. She smells so amazing and looks adorable every time. "J" 😉😊you know who you are... thank you so much. Corporate needs to know how much you shine.

Got a semi-rude response when I asked for help by the fish and after 20 minutes of waiting, decided to just leave.Other visits have been ok but wish there was a button to push so I don't have to keep going up to the register to ask for assistance

I absolutely love to bring my Shih Tzu to Presley at Petco! She’s been grooming her for a couple years now and my dog is 3 . Presley always takes the time to ask me before she takes her back to make sure what I want done because I change her length of her coat and ears depending on the time of year . I love her attention to Gertie and Gertie loves her . I just say we’re going to see Presley she comes running a climbs in her backpack all excited, she is always happy to see her at the salon to Happy Tails!!! See Presley at Petco for your dog too you won’t regret it .

Great pet supply store. There are tons of products and options here. Also seems quite pet-friendly and all the dogs I have come across in this store are very well behaved. Only downside is the staff are very insistent about signing up for the rewards program. I get asked about 3 times to join each time I check out.

We always took our dog to get groomed and have his nails done here. He never had a bad report until our last visit when a new (to us) girl was assigned to him. When we picked him up we were told he was aggressive with her and we weren't allowed to come back for that service. This seemed off, as we were always given good reports for our dog. We later found out our friends brought their dog in the same time period, had the same girl, and their dog was also deemed aggressive after his nails were done. They were also told not to come back for that service. We feel like the employee was causing some discomfort, as the previous employees we had told us of no issues (Kaleb is awesome, and I unfortunately forgot the other girl we used to have).

Presley is LuLu's groomer and I love and appreciate how caring she is with our almost 9 year old Golden. She does a great job and is very patient with Lu wanting to wriggle around or sit down. She's the BEST!

I love this store, but recently service has gotten so bad. Even just running in to get crickets for my animals has become a ridiculously long ordeal. Dead fish are piling up in the tanks. Find someone passionate to work for you! : )

I frequently purchase crickets, and there is never anyone around. At PetSmart there is a button you press so they know you need help with crickets. At Petco you have to wander around and hope you find someone, and it's usually this girl who seems really annoyed that you need help with crickets.

Caleb has done a great job of grooming my shorkie (who is not the best client). He is super friendly and patient. He always exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately we moved so can no longer visit.

We brought our puppy here for training. The trainer is super knowledgeable and has helped a lot already (we've only had one session). The rest of the staff is friendly and was great with our puppy too.Addendum: Since my original review I have continued to shop here. The staff continues to be helpful and great with my dogs. This is one of my dog's favorite places to go because they love meeting people and the staff and customers never disappoint. While not specific to the Ames location I do appreciate that Petco has updated their stock selection so that it contains healthier options (it makes me more confident in the food and treats I select).

Very kind and patient staff considering how difficult it is for any retailer to keep cat food and litter in stock these days. They probably get berated at least once a day by someone who thinks Petco is at fault. Kudos to them for working so well under such stress!

I live out of town so I not a frequent shopper. In the past I have not been impressed with the associates. This time the gal was so friendly, polite, and helpful. Makes such a difference in overall experience. I am not impressed with the checkout area. Sorta like a mouse in a maze experience
