Great customer service and always have what we are looking for. We love the dog bath availability. Staff are friendly and always offer to carry out the large bag of food! Oh - and Lily is a fan of the toy section for her favorite ball!

The staff at this store are always friendly and helpful. I am also impressed with the selection of products, especially dog food that they carry here. I was very pleased to buy a self-wash punch card because it was such a good price. However, I can only give the store 4 stars because the water at the self-wash never gets warm, and it makes the bath unpleasant for both myself and my dog. If they ever resolve this issue, the store would easily be a 5-star store.

I normally am not one to write reviews but I felt like golden doodle owners need to hear what can happen. I took my pup in and asked for a summer cut as it’s getting warmer. I told the women that I have never taken him to a groomer (always done it myself) because I am scared of him getting shaved and looking naked. She assured me over and over she would not do that and we agreed on taking off about half his length off (his hair was around 3-4 inches long) He rarely gets mats and only a few on his legs when he does.They shaved every ounce of hair off my dog claiming he had a few mats they had to go shorter for and felt like the “dematting process would have been an extra fee and too brutal for a dogs first groom”.Hoping his outer coat grows back normal and we get our dog back. Would never recommend this experience to anyone I love. Hope others have a better experience here!Update: they were very understanding and ended up refunding the grooming. I appreciate their customer service and hope this helps the specific groomer learn and grow 🙏

Love having a pet store on the north side! And it's so nice to go wash our dog for a low price. They always have sales on dog treats so our pup always leaves happy after her bath 🐶

I brought my CKC in for a full groom just the other day and left with a sparkling new pup! My girl is nearly 9 years old and has some pretty bad back hips - they were so kind and patient with her. She never leaves the building feeling sore, only spunky!I appreciate all the hard work these employees put in to make my pet feel comfortable. One time, they even trimmed my chihuahua’s nails (for free) when I brought her in to pick up the other!A HUGE thank you to these employees for taking some of the pet stress out of the owners hands.

Took our Dog in to get groomed by Libby. Libby did such a nice job of making our dog feel safe and comfortable. She typically does not like getting groomed, and especially does not like getting her nails clipped, but she sure was happy with Libby! Not to mention the haircut looked great! Got our dog ready for the warm Summer months. Appointment was easy to make, easy to check in / check out, and they got everything done in an efficient manner. We'll be back. Thank you Libby!!

Staff was extremely friendly I adopted a ferret with some fish, he's doing great, but I am very displeased with their live fish return policy. I immediately flushed the 2-hour old dead fish in my tank after I just received them that day and they were quite expensive for the few i got, but I couldn't get a refund because I couldn't bring in their dead bodies in to prove they were dead.. I live out of town and was not planning to return for about a week, I can understand to an extent but why would I lie about it? I have 2 decent size tanks and explained the other fish that I got with those fish were just fine.. Again very friendly staff, and love the products they have. I will be purchasing in future, just not the fish.(UPDATE) Called and they said they will be able to give me a full refund, im glad i was able to get my money back for the fish that died.

Two Stars for being clean and organized.The owners/employees should check out some of the other pet-friendly stores in town; none of the employees that I came in contact with even acknowledged my two well-behaved dogs that I had with me. Also, I spent ~ $114, and didn't even get a thank-you. I wanted to shop at a locally owned pet supply store, but I will think twice before going back.

My 6 month old pup just got his first cut. As a new pet parent I was very anxious about his first cut because I wanted it to be a good experience. I am happy to say Abbey was AMAZING. She listened to what I requested. Our pup looks amazing. We will be coming back to Abbey in the near future!

I move from Arizona to Ames less then a year ago and the special food my dog loves wasn’t sold in any store around here so I have to ordered online so when Pet supplies opened I was so happy they sell it there and they have it a great price and amazing specials love the way they alway have it at hand and they are very nice to the customers great place to get all your pets needs

This is the perfect pet store. It is on the smaller size of ones I've been too, but has SO many unique items. They also sell live animals (reptiles, cats, birds, chinchillas, etc). And the staff are all amazing! Super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Do NOT bring your dog here for grooming. I made an appointment for a particular groomer I like- our appointment was at 3:00 for our English Bulldog. We were greeted and told it would be about an hour. No other dogs were there. 90 minutes later and no word of her being done. I walked in and 2 other dogs were being worked on, my dog was not on the floor. I was told it would be another 30 minutes. I asked where my dog was and found out she has been in a cage the entire time! Nothing had been done, and she was panting heavily and was all worked up. They told me I should have booked an express if I didn’t want her in a cage. Ridiculous to put this breed on dog in a kennel when they are worked up. Never returning

I don’t normally leave reviews, but the groomers here are awesome and deserve some praise. I took in a family member’s senior dog who is not particularly friendly to strangers and was in pretty nasty condition and they were very good with him and got him all cleaned up for a very reasonable price. I’ll be taking my dogs in there as well from now on, great job.

This place is excellent! We checked with both the other suppliers in town and neither of them had Fortiflora in stock. Not only did they have it but it was on sale! They also had a very wide selection of canned cat food with some great buy 4 get 2 sales on several brands. This store was very clean, well-stocked and the staff was very accommodating. I will definitely be going here from now on for any of our cat's needs. Such a great place!

I love the convenience of having a pet supply location as well as self serve bath for my dog.The bath process is easy and even allows good body mechanics to avoid bending downward. The dogs have steps to go up to the tile shower stall where there is a tether leash that connects in two locations of the shower stall. There is also a hair dryer and plenty of clean towels. The hose has a switch to turn off when desired.

I've brought my dogs twice to the grooming station, and both times one of them has gotten knicked and bled. One dog was cut with scissors on her paw and bled, the other bled from a knick from a nail trim and by getting a chunk of hair ripped out with a dremel. One of my dogs also had some kind of clipper burn or irritation from being shaved in his groin area, which has lasted for days.The cut was an accident and I do appreciate the staff being honest about what happened. They also offered to pay for the vet bill for my dog who got cut by scissors. We did discuss in advance and on the intake form that this dog doesn't like getting her paws touched. The grooming bill wasn't reduced or comped.

Very knowledgeable, caring and friendly team here. Found a top notch xl pet bed that my big dog love's. The fish tanks and small critters area looks clean and taken care of. Next time need to stop in to use the pet bathing area. They also have a big selection of gourmet dog treats, my big boy love's them.
