I get local gaming stores need to charge MSRP prices. I also get they are often struggling due to online shopping. But, a no refund policy when a customer accidentally bought the wrong game seems excessive. I purchased a board game at 5.30 pm, got home and my wife told me it was the wrong game, went back to the store and was forced to get store credit instead of a full refund. There were no signs in the store indicating no refunds were provided (I did notice the receipt said this after I went back to the store). Unfortunately, if you just want to buy a game, Amazon is a safer bet than this store. Disappointing.

Cool place. This is one of my favorite comic book stores in the area, their comics are very well taken care of. This store is smaller than the one in Des Moines but has lots of the same things ( it also has more pop funko figures). They also have games and game events. I recommend!!

I thought it was great when I visited on Black Friday. Now prices are a little high for me involving the games and some of the comics that I'm into but the variety is awesome and the sale was cool. There's a lot to this place, a downstairs as well! Can't wait to visit again in the future when I come through the area.

I come here like every few days with my buddies haha. Such a great vibe and their down stairs section is something you gotta see. Tons n tons of collectibles for every niche with some gems too. Usual restocks are Wednesdays

Hmm how to review. Been married 25 years & hubby HAS to stop at Mayhem when ever we pass thru or near Ames & he's inside fir at least 30 min. Sometimes carries a bag out, sometimes not, but he's smiling every time.

One of the best stores in Ames. This place has been around for a long time and it's easy to see why. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely helpful. They can easily speak pro gamer, they are also perfectly comfortable helping very young kids just starting out and are willing to give them a lot of time and undivided attention. It's an Ames classic!

Visited this lovely shop a few weeks ago. I was in town for a wedding. Saw a Warhammer piece on my wishlist. I didn't make the purchase. Not wanting to travel with it. When I got home a decided to buy this piece from games workshop. To my horror sold out. Everywhere on line it's sold out. So I call this lovely shop and they ship it to me. Thank you so much.

The guys were very helpful and knowledgeable. I walked with no knowledge of Warhammer 40k and now I can make useful intelligent purchases for my son. The staff (several helped) treated my wife and I with respect and told all the basics of what we needed to know. We were not overloaded and boy we could have been by the lore alone. We did not feel belittled or talked down to and enjoyed the enthusiasm of the staff and a customer or two. I understand more about why people enjoy these types of activities. Great store.

Wasn't impressed... Only a handful of Pokemon cards... Wasn't good customer service either... Basically one step down from robots... Didn't welcome me to store or ask how I was doing... Only got a 2 star cause they had a card I needed otherwise a 1 is what they would get. If you like magic then sure it's a 5 cause that's all it really is

Very large store, well organized, but still a little difficult to find things, due to so much merchandise. Would recommend as this is a great store. They have a huge selection of comics, cards, and a lot more. Parking is a bit of an issue as there are meters out front, and I don't carry change. Not used to parking meters at all where I am from they are rare.

My go to comic shop for years, a large spacious store that is friendly to newcomers. An amazing selection from board games, magic cards, funko pops, and to me most importantly comics. They have an outstanding collection of trades and the newest comics. They also have one of the biggest collections of back issues I've ever had the pleasure to look through, losing countless hours of my life searching through them. If your ever in a bind Rob is always willing to point you in the right direction on great stories.

Mayhem is a fantastic store. Rob is friendly and knowledgeable, and he does not jack up prices because something is popular. He goes out of his way to help you if he can, and if he can't he will try to help you figure out what to do next. Rob will never steer you wrong. He has good quality staff that are friendly and knowledgeable as well. It is always a good and enjoyable experience.

Great deals on board games and other merchandise. Also they have multiple game rooms that they allow board gamers, collectible card players, and minerature players to use throughout the year which is very nice. Their Sunday night board games is always a good time and the people that show up are very friendly to newcomers. Would recommend to seasoned gamers or first timers.
