I had a return today along with some questions about Kohl’s Cash. Jessica in Customer Service at the Ames store was very knowledgable and helpful in resolving my transactions. While she helped me, she also patiently explained the process to a new hire who was also working at the counter. Her skills, leadership, and courteous personality are what every customer service department needs.

Took back my returns nice as can be. Lost some of my Kohl's books because of my return.But then they were able to give me the kohl's bucks back on a purchase and let me use a that day.

Two associates at Kohls today in Ames went above and beyond to deliver exemplary customer service!!! I could see they were understaffed today, because all normal checkout lanes were closed. People were being helped at 2 separate customer service counters, and I had 1 item to purchase, so I got in line there.As soon as she completed the customer she was helping, Em literally RAN from the customer service counter to the checkout lane, with a smile on her face, waving me over to be rang up.There was some confusion about my request to redeem a $10 merchandise discount that I had received as an email. The system wouldn't accept it, in spite of many attempts made by Em. She was very compassionate and caring, explaining that she would have to contact her supervisor about the matter. She did just that, and Jessica came right away to assist. Together they successfully processed the discount, and they couldn't have been any nicer or more efficient with the matter. THANK YOU for these two wonderful associates who created such a positive shopping experience for me at Kohls. Take care of them! In this crazy world, we all need more caring, helpful individuals like these two!!!!!!!!

Typical (which is good) of a Kohl's store. Well stocked and organized. There are clean restrooms and a good customer service area. The isles are accessible, not cluttered. The variety in clothing is great and clearly marked. Changing rooms are well maintained.

I can not say enough about the store associate that helped me at the Ames, Ia Kohl’s yesterday! She was super busy but took the time to help me order a sweater on the app. Her name was Jessica and she was amazing! Thank you Jessica!

Absolutely hate how hard it is when you have pick up orders because it’s always busy & then they keep moving where you pick up the orders so it’s just extremely confusing and I won’t be using them again for pick up orders because it irritates me lol

Limited amount of every and anything. Out of stock...was common. One would think that they would be more prepared for back to school. More than one clerk explained they only get 1 pair of most sizes. Not recommended for school shopping. Limited inventory.

I'm going to give it this rating just for the shoes alone because I went there just to take a look to see what they had and they had quite a bit of shoes and it surprised me because everywhere else I've gone has a real short small selection. One downfall is I was looking for mens cologne and I could not find any.. but I also did not ask anybody where it was either because I was just trying to get in and out and get back to Des Moines.

Nothing quite like browsing some products when two employees insist on getting close to you to move some things around while you're looking at the items. And while doing so, decide to talk vulgarly and offensively to one another, not hiding the language from you at all. I understand it feels like it's not needed because it's not normal to do so, but maybe management should teach their staff to watch their language around customers.

I've been here many times to shop and typically the only downfall is that the store is amuck when they are discounting merchandiseI went to the store yesterday with items in mond that I needed to purchase for an upcoming event that I am participating in.I went to the women's clothing section and started to look for what I needed and I was super happy that I found the leggings that would work for me. What made it even better is that they were hanging on a hook that had the sale price of $11.97 on them.I thought ok I will grab 2 instead of just one. I found some other purchases and headed to the register. I was watching everything being scanned and the first few things came up ok, however, the items that were drastically discounted started coming up at regular price so I said something to the cashier and she went ahead and fixed them.When it came to the item I was purchasing they also rang up at full price so I said those were on a hook back there for $11.97 and I said I can show you. I walked back there and an employee came with me, this was an employee the cashier had called over. I pointed out to her the hook, the price and the fact that all of the same item were hanging there except a few out of place items.She proceeded to snarkily say that what I grabbed was not part of that price as it was a different material. I asked why it was all hanging on the same rack and she said it's where we put them shrugged her shoulders and started walking away.I said they should be on a different hook if they are not the price on the hook. She said nothing. No apology, no I will check into that, nothing

I love Kohl's and have always suggested my friends shop there but I will no longer be using the local store.This morning I went it to exchange an item I gave someone for Christmas (I was sent the incorrect size when I ordered online and didn't think to check before I gifted it). I was treated poorly by the customer service associate - she was rude and argumentative. At first, I gave her grace considering the recent times we've all been through, but when it became clear I should return the item and not exchange (correct size unavailable), she questioned my decision and continued to argue with me asking why the receiver couldn't just stretch the item to fit, which is entirely inppropriate. This treatment continued and I became frustrated. I asked to work with someone else and she brushed me off saying she would return the item (the arguing continued). This was in full-view of the manager and several other employees. I was one of two customers in the store at the time (it had recently opened). No one else came over or spoke to me or her though I was visibly upset by the end of my transaction. I walked past the manager on my way out while she stared at me. This is not the first time I've had a poor experience at this local store, and I can no longer shop here.

I know their convoluted savings "discounts" are manipulating me, but I still feel like I'm getting a deal when I shop clearance. Good merchandise, well displayed, with an efficient check-out system that seems to handle heavy volume when necessary.

Former employee. Kohl's is one of the worst companys to work for! The job is easy work. I did a little bit of EVERYTHING in the store. Its the people that work there that are the main problem. You are FORCED to work beyond what you are scheduled and that is most of the time. There were alot of times I never got a break of any kind, that incudes lunch breaks! The store manager is so rude and mean. She does not care about her employees (those are her own words btw). The turn over rate is so high but they do care due to the high amount of money the store brings in. Screw the Ames Kohls!
