Very clean, spacious, friendly staff, and great food! The pancake is as big as your plate! Turkey on the grilled bread made of cranberry and wild rice was delicious! ( this is not JCPenney. This is Farmer's daughters Restaurant just off I-90 near Blue Earth)

This is the only store in Ames where I can buy NEW dresses. The selection is wonderful! There were several styles in several different colors!! Reasonable prices too!!

I got credit card from JCPenney. My first day we had lost prevention following us. We came to buy outfits for wedding. Make this make sense why give me a credit card but treat us like thieves. But I came back to purchase tennis shoes. Have to come back again to purchase clothes for grandkids. If u don't want my busy why give me a card. I love shopping sorry I'm black . I have no reason to steal but I'll be back please be nice . I like your store Iove your brand treat me as I treat your staff with respect.

I wanted to buy a 'super cute' Xersion woman's top. The sign posted in Xersion area & on this wall with these shirts said 50% off Xersion Apparel for Her. See my pictures. This was an Xersion woman's shirt. Original cost $27 & should have been $12.99 as the sign said. When checking out I was told this shirt was a "New Arrival" and new arrivals were not included in the sale. No Where was it posted that there were exclusions or that "new arrivals" were not included in the sale.I asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with a manager from HR. Sorry, I don't know her name. She confirmed that this shirt was not on sale because it was a New Arrival. I tried hard to explain that I understand exclusions, but since there was no indication to exclusions, this shirt (which by the way was just a different color than the one on sale) should be sale priced. Sadly, I did not win. And, I did not buy the shirt. Which was a bummer ~ it was super cute.This was just one bad experience with JC Penneys. I shop alot in this Ames store & many other JC Penneys. That won't change. I like their product quality & selection. This one experience was disappointing.

This store has really run downhill since the covid shut down. They don't have anyone in the shoes department anymore. They only have 3 cash register areas. So... you have to walk across the whole store to find one.1 by the east door. 1 in the home/bra department and 1 in the northwest corner. (It used to be the catalog pick-up area. Maybe it still is.) I almost just left my car full of things and walked out, as I was in the middle of the store, next to the mall entrance, and had to walk to each corner to pay.Back to the shore department.The boxes are mixed up not only in the sizes but also in the shoe models. And there are boxes all over the floor. I asked my cashier by the east door if there was anyone working in the shoe department? I have been a cashier for many, many years. I have lots of patience for polite cashiers and understand customers.She, however, got really snotty and said that they do. I then said, Just as snotty, "She isn't doing a very good job, with boxes all over. I was then toldShe had been extremely busy that day, and she was helping other employees."That's funny. I was in here 2 weeks ago looking for shoes for my daughter, it's the same boxes. " I wish I had taken a photo! There were exactly 10 people in the store... when you have to walk from one end to the other to find a register, there's plenty of time to count.

Nice & clean, easy to find section I was looking for, but very limited on clothing items in plus sizes. I actually didn't find any dresses, except on-line purchases returned. Even those were less than 5. Some slacks were reduced, they looked like something I would wear. When I found smaller sizes on same rack on clearance for $10 less, I quit looking. I thought they should all be priced the same.

I had an order that was ready for pick up right around Christmas. With everything going on, I forgot about it. After Christmas I was sick. I tried several times to call the store to ask them to hold my order. I only got someone to answer when I picked a department. Someone answered with “please hold”. I had no chance to speak. After 15 minutes on hold I finally hung up. To add insult to injury, I called JC Penney’s help line. I was told they couldn’t help me because the order had been checked in at local store. With stores closing because of lack of customers you would think they would go above and beyond to assist a customer. Would not be surprised if this store is one of the first to close. Will not be shopping at JC Penney’s.

We had to buy some big & tall men's clothes for last minute event. We were extremely pleased with the quality, selection, and especially the price. Would hope to come back again for that. Customer service wasn't the best. Plus it was rather irritating that every 5 minutes for the last 20 minutes they'd announce they were closing. Then when we wanted to check out we had to wait for clerk to finally amble up to the counter.

Super helpful staff during pre-Black Friday shopping on Thanksgiving afternoon. I was given a coupon as I walked in the door (10%off) and directed to the door busters I was looking to purchase. Super quick visit without any hassle. Made my shopping easy.

It was so hard to find someone to take my money for my purchase. Finally, a young woman working at Sephora noticed me standing around looking confused and frustrated, and she said she could ring me up. She was the main bright spot in my visit to the store.

Its was good price get. Bought new purse originally $69.00 for $17.00. Was 70% off everyone at check out counter was asking for coupon, so I did also so I received additional 10% off my purchase which made me real happy.Why do they have the dresses for adults women in the Junior area?

Summer has arrived and the store has NOT FIXED their air conditioning. I had to quit shopping in your store last year because it was so HOT in the store. Yesterday I was with my 86 year old mother shopping, and it was too stuffy for her.You are very fortunate to have loyal employees to work in those conditions last year. When I asked yesterday about the air, I was told the part is to arrive this week. Please let the public know when it is once again comfortable to be in the store.

I was surprised at how clean and nice JCPenney's and Ames was. Since they've been closing stores all over, I've lowered my expectations. I got a Liz Claiborne suit for less than $20 off the clearance rack. The only downside is that there were only three dressing rooms open, and more people that needed to use them.

For someone who recently moved into Ames, I was amazed at the discount on home items and I loved it. The attendants were also quite interactive and willing to help me shop for items that fitted my budget. I recommend it.

A Lady named Shirley helped and did a great job. Lined me up with a great suit. She had to leave to a different area and then Julie took over for her and helped me even more. Even if the cost wasn't lower (it was) the service was tremendous. Thank you ladies.

I had good experience with them before. This time idk whats wrong. I paid more than what was posted near my item. I would buy online if I know the real price. And even some items not included in JCPenny card and no one told us. I am not sure if this is the quality of service provided here in the US 😶

I’ve never went to any other salon before and it’s because this place is the best! I had my hair cut and colored by Brooke and it was the best experience. She held great conversation, kept me laughing and did nothing less than what I had hoped for even though I showed up late! Thanks Brooke!!!!

I don't mind the in-store experience. In fact, I will continue to shop on site. However, I will NEVER ORDER ONLINE again. About 50% of the time they send the wrong item or the wrong size. I've ordered a bra before and gotten a long-sleeve mens shirt instead. Most recently I ordered an XL coat and received a Small. There are many other orders they have messed up on, and I am fed up! Good deal or not, I'm done shopping online with JC Penney.
