This place, as well as all Fareways, are soo clean with friendly staff. I won't but meat anywhere else. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that not all of the stores have the same floorplan. If you're used to 1 store and then go into another, there is no guarantee the items you're looking for are in the same location.

Every visit to the Fareway on Stange Road is great. Every employee is fabulous 👍. The greetings, the assistance, the knowledge…it’s wonderful. It’s a “big” deal is why I buy there. Hoping this message gets to the store employees and they get a Pat on their shoulder, OK 👍. Thanks!

The FIRST place Iowans go to buy The Best quality meat in the state!Very friendly staff, always willing to help with finding any item you might need.Cashier's are always friendly, helpful and efficient. Baggers are always careful to pack your items so they make it home without dents, damage or breakage. Then, they help you by loading the groceries into your car, regardless of weather. They also ask how you are doing, how's your day going.A pleasant encounter in every department.

This is my absolute favorite for groceries. For one person it's super that they offer smaller amounts of produce, bread and pastries. Great staff too. Always friendly and helpful.

great service and friendly staff.But not a place to find great bargain.3 avocado for 1 dollar only but cannot last long.Usually the bread is on sale for quick sale, however staff just forget to apply the price reduction

Always clean and well-stocked. Friendly, helpful workers. Excellent meat selection and service! Car carts for little kids to ride in. They'll help you carry your groceries to your car. You can redeem cans and glass bottles here. They also have their own version of a Redbox by the exit with a good selection of current and favorite movies.

You walk in and cashiers say hi if they are not helping other customers. If you can't find something you just ask one of the many employees stockings the shelves. The meat department is second to none. Butchers are knowledgeable and friendly even if you ask them a question. The meat has great flavor and they wrap it up in the quantities you want in each package. Then a very nice lady checks out your groceries while another person bags up your groceries and follows you out to load them into your vehicle just to finish up with a thank you and have a great day all with a smile. Just the same as when I would go with mom to Fareway some 50 yrs ago. Not everything needs to change! Just saying, from my perspective.

Every week, all summer, HyVee has messed up my order. They've lost my produce twice, overcharged me, not given me specials that I qualified for, and charged me for items I didn't receive. The final straw was last week when they put the wrong order in my truck and then argued with me when I pointed it out. I reached out to management and never heard back from them. My first order ever with Fareway today was accurate and the produce looks amazing! I will be back! Thank you!

They were very friendly and helpful. I'd never shopped here before and they showed me the ropes very nicely. They help you put everything in your car and load and unload your cart for you. Great experience

One of the best Fareways I've been to and I shop here more than anywhere else. The store is small enough that you don't have to go on an expedition to get a few groceries on your way home from work. Everyone knows they have the best meat and affordable prices! The trade-off is limited selection, but this particular Fareway has improved a lot in recent years. They even have a small health food section. However, I have to knock a half star off because 50% of the time I go in for fresh herbs, they're completely out of what I'm looking for. I understand that herbs don't stay fresh long, but it is a bummer when you have to drive across town for something so seemingly simple. Still my favorite grocery store in town, though!

Excellent staff. I asked a young gentleman in produce by the name of Nick where I could find fresh dill. He apologized when he informed me it was out. With out my asking he looked and found some in the back. Then found me at the register before I left. Great customer service.

Fareway north Ames moved all their products around. It is harder to find wjat you want for the moment. With time it will get better. Store is more open and easier to walk arond. Staff was very helpful and cheery. Refreshing!

I am an a one-grocery store type of shopper. If it isn't at Fareway, I don't drive all over town to find it. Fareway is well-stocked, clean, service-orientated, cost comparable to all the grocery stores in the area. And if a person can find it cheaper someplace else, Fareway will match the price. The clerks and grocery staff have become my friends over the years. We are privileged to have a Fareway in our area.

A medium-sized grocery store with great customer service, wide selection, reasonable prices. The prices are between Hyvee (slightly higher) and Kroger (slightly lower) but the service is the best you will find at a grocery store.

Closest to me. Fair price most of the time. Like their fresh cutting meat section especially. Only wish they also contain a small restaurant or coffee stop like some other groceries have, so when I don't like to cook, I can just grab a dish and go home eating. 😋
