I really enjoyed working with Brandon for our carpet installation. I was especially impressed by Tom and Donja who installed the carpet. They had fun, and let me know the pile of carpet we presently had was much higher than the new one we picked out and it was noticeable where the stain/varnish wasn’t applied. They gave me time to remedy the situation, and came back the next day to finish up. We have open faced stairs, (Like the Brady Bunch) and there has to be a seam somewhere, I can barely see it.

The flooring looks great and he completed the project promptly.Our flooring professional, Terra Rooney, helped us though a difficult time after damage to our family room caused a complete remake of the room. I initially chose Carpet One Floor and Home because it was recommended to me by a friend who had had work done by themI have had two projects done which was carpet removed and laminate flooring installed. My initial contact was with Abby and I again used her for the second job. I highly recommend her for your needs. From the initial contact forward she was very professional and highly responsive to any concerns questions etc I had. She was very accommodating and made extra accommodations such as coming to my home to pick up payment saving me a trip to Ames. I would highly recommend her for your flooring needsMy installer was Greg on both my jobs. Again I would highly recommend him for installation. My first job he was so accommodating and on time. He cleaned up everything when he was done and also moved my furniture. Explained everything before he started the job and when finished the floors were beautiful.I was so pleased when Abby said that he would be my installer on the second job. I got a bid from Carpet One to do hardwood floors. I explained at the time of the bid and again when I agreed to have them do the work that it needed to be done by a certain date. This means they had 8 weeks notice of a time frame. The week of the proposed install I was called to ask if they could deliver the wood to acclimate to the house. I said this was fine. While here, the delivery man told me he would relay to them that I hadn't been given a time of arrival to do the job on that Friday. On the day of the install I got up at 6 am to move everything out of the room and I got a call at 8:01 that they weren't going to do it because the floor guy called in sick. When I explained I was frustrated because I literally couldn't be here again to let someone in, the reply was basically 'too bad, it's Friday, that's how it goes". I then left an email for Abby who initially set it up. NO return email or call to apologize or explain after 3 business days. I finally called and she offered to send someone out 2 weeks later, again with no apology. I reminded her how fast they were to demand the 50% down to order the wood to do the job, but they were pretty slow to keep a customer informed or apologize. She told me she would have to 'talk to her boss' about what I paid as a down payment and I have never received a phone call from the owner back. I would have at least given 2 stars but a few years ago I also asked for a bid and the guy never showed up. When I called, he replied that he had 'fallen asleep' at his desk. Never, ever will I attempt to use them again.

The installation was done perfectly. Very precise workmanship. The bid for the project didn't take into account the problems with removing the old flooring. So we had to do it ourselves and that delayed installation by two weeks. We were not pleased that the salesperson never had a conversation with us in advance. Also, we had to initiate and push to get the installer to return. Basically, they over-promised and under-delivered. They also didn't help us figure out how to solve the problem they had with removing the old flooring.

With Carpet One Floor & Home, we found quality carpet, were able to get it ordered and installed within 3 weeks, and we had excellent installers. I would use them again for my flooring needs.

We visited here for our vinyl plank flooring purchase. Originally was going to be more just to see what was available because we assumed we would get a better price at a big box store. The salesman that greeted us (Jerry, I believe) was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He guided us to exactly what we wanted in our price range and high quality to boot. Although we did visit the big box stores after, we ended up comparing our experiences there to Carpet One and they just didn't compare, so we returned and purchased from them. Product was ordered and delivered quickly. Then we purchased some transitions from Abby, who was very helpful. Overall a great experience. Don't skimp, buy from experts.

I highly recommend going here over a more general home improvement retailer. You get better quality carpet, service, and availability at Carpet One. Tim and David were great to work with. They helped us find exactly what we needed. The installers were professional, right on time, did excellent work, and finished the job quickly. Very happy with the result.

We really like the carpet we chose and the ultra pad makes you want to just take a nap on it. Our wood flooring is equally nice. The best part of this experience really was the continued customer service from the Ames office and the three great installers we ended up with. They were polite, respectful of the current Covid climate, knowledgeable, and quick. We would definitely go back if we decide to do any more flooring changes in the future.

As always, the quality of the carpet is excellent and the help in the store was great. The installers, however, were another story. Neither one of them wore masks at all (in the heart of the pandemic! ), and they ripped up three of the four new walls that we then had to repair.
