I take my golden retriever, Moses to doggy daycare every week. He gets so excited and loves it at APR! The staff are always so friendly and take the time to get to know your pet. They are great about sending pictures and updates throughout the day. Highly recommend APR!

I take all 4 of my dogs here to get bathed. I have been here multie times and it has been a positive experience each time. Everyone who i have worked with has been kind, energetic and all around great! My dogs always come home looking amazing and so soft and fluffy! I highly recommend Ames Pet Resort for all your grooming, daycare & training needs. Brady our Shih-Poo was 6ish months when we started taking her to Ames Pet Resort. Brady was a bit timid when she started daycare and they recommended she start in the slow introduction program. This program was so good for Brady's confidence!! She learned how to play & became much braver. She really enjoys the enrichment activities they offer & I love the photos that get:) Now, she can not wait to get in the car when I say "daycare." We also use the grooming services for Miss Brady, everyone in the grooming department has been fantastic. She always looks beautiful when we pick her up. I can not say enough about the staff & how clean it is!! We tell everyone about Ames Pet Resort!!

She may shy away from the extra activities since this is her first year doing these events, but the group does an excellent job with making memories for your pet. My pup loves APR! He’s been going ever since he was a puppy. The staff is great with him and he gets groomed there as well. They do report cards for the dogs as well and it’s always fun to see how he is doing.

Maggie has had a weekly play day in daycare since she was a pup. She gets very excited when it’s time to go, and very tired after a day of play. Also very happy with our boarding and grooming experiences. Highly recommend APR!

The gals that work here are fantastic. I had called several months ago and asked to be put on the wait list for Christmas boarding. They called me back a week before Christmas, letting me know there was an opening. The pricing is very reasonable and the staff is very friendly.

Jalyn is amazing! I had three sessions with her and my new puppy. Not only were the training sessions one on one, I could choose to do them in my home or somewhere else. We did two at home and another at the park. She was very flexible with the amount of time in between and with what times worked best with our schedule. She answered all my questions, provided homework/tips to use in between lesson and was available via text for questions. We plan to schedule more trainings with her soon. We HIGHLY recommend Jalyn for training and Ames Pet Resort! Mia says thanks!

They do great work! Our favorite place in Ames to have our dogs groomed. One was having a small issue and they were happy to keep an eye on him. It is greatly appreciated!

Under new management they have a set of daycare rules. Which is appreciated to protect dogs. My one year old dog did not pass their evaluation. (He did not recall to his name with several other dogs in the room). My issue is dropping off my dog at 9:30am and picking him up at 4:45pm and at that time being told he did not pass and he sat in a kennel all day. I was told by the front desk gal he was put in a kennel at 12pm and now talking with management he was put in the kennel right away that morning. Absolutely no communication from this place.

My dog has a great time here for doggy daycare! I love all the vaccination requirements and that they have to be spayed or neutered before daycare. They also have a lot add-on services which you can take advantage of while your pet is there. I also love how attentive the employees are to the pets.

My Dad always takes his dog Baby here, and they really do treat her like a queen. And to be clear, she is a (bit of a) drama queen. She's an older dog with separation anxiety and can sometimes be highly vocal, so the extra love she gets at APR means the world. One of their groomers even went above and beyond to help her feel comforted during a recent health crisis with my dad.It's very clear that they care about pets at APR, and I wouldn't bring Baby anywhere else in Ames.

I can't say enough good things about these guys. We bring our dog Murphy there for everything-grooming, daycare and boarding. They have been so incredible with her (she is sooooo excited to go there every time, which says a lot!!), and so wonderful to us as well. The staff is amazing, I've never had a bad experience-they go above and beyond! And Nikki does a fantastic job of grooming her every month! I rarely write out my thoughts on a business review (usually just give stars) but I had to for these guys. I highly recommend them to all my friends with dogs. We are committed customers to these guys and will use them for years to come!

I came to Ames from Denver for my grandfather’s funeral and brought my dog Toby. It was already a stressful time and we had some last minute changes to our plans and I needed to board him somewhere for a night while we traveled to northern Iowa. Ames Pet Resort was incredibly accommodating and were able to get him in last minute. Toby got to stay a night in one of their suites, got to play with the other dogs, and got a much needed bath and nail trim. I picked him up and he was happy and oh so tired! The facility was very nice and clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful and answered all of my questions, and you could tell they really care about the animals there. I thought the prices were reasonable for the services they offered. I would definitely recommend and will absolutely bring Toby back the next time we’re in town!

We started taking our dog for day care once in a while, but he gets such a great workout that we now do it 2-3 times per week! The staff is absolutely professional and amazingly enthusiastic. Thought we'd be worried about leaving him overnight, but he's in such good hands, we only felt a *little* bit guilty!

The staff seem to genuinely care about the animals. We appreciate their communication and how they ensure that any concerns are addressed immediately (to be frank, we had some issues when we first started, but six months later we're still taking our puppy. They addressed our concerns and we haven't had issues since). We highly recommend the staff for these reasons, but we also recommend daycare in general for your fur babies! It's really helped our puppy socialize and learn appropriate behavior.

We left our beloved pet here for one week of boarding, daycare (every other day) and a full grooming on the last day. The experience was excellent, our dog was extremely tired when we picked him up and he looked and smelled remarkable from the grooming. The best part-- the entire week (daycare, grooming and boarding) was extremely affordable and much cheaper than previous pet boarding experiences.The staff here is incredible, remembering your pets names and personalities. The facility is very clean and you cannot beat the price. They have gained a long-term customer for sure.

Brought my one year old Golden Retriever to Ames pet resort over the weekend. I guess he didn’t pass his evaluation. Instead of calling or texting me to let me know they just put him in a kennel for 7 hours. Feel like that’s something they could have just texted me and I would have went and got him. Would not recommend.

My pup and I just completed six weeks of individual/personalized training with Jalyn. The results are phenomenal!!! She is amazing to work with for both my doggie and I!! Very organized and prepared for each session. Follows up often and is available to answer questions and give input all the time!! So impressed we just signed up for more sessions!! Can not recommend Highly enough- worth every cent!!!
