Organics! Incredible selection of organics. Lots of organic selections that I appreciate like orange juice, fruit, and meat. The quality of the foods here is pretty hard to beat I think. If you'd like to vote with your wallet this is a great place to support in my opinion.

Best discount grocery store in Ames. The quality of their food is excellent. No one can beat their prices. Bring a quarter for your grocery cart. Bring your own reusable bags for your groceries. They don't have a huge variety, hence four stars. They do have everything you need; all of the staples.

Great prices but i do not like these new self checkouts. The staff there seems like they are overworked and stressed because of them. One cashier has to check long lines and help everyone struggling with the obnoxious self checkouts. Poor cashier is working her butt off. This was a bad move aldi.

Tons of options and unlike Walmart they don't make you feel like you're a criminal when you're walking out by going through all the stuff you just bagged and rang up yourself. And the prices are so low compared to anywhere else. You get your bang for your buck for sure. And they still have an awesome aisle of shame😂Thank you Aldi's 🤗

I do all of my grocery shopping at Aldi. The prices are comparable to Walmart's, but I can be in and out in half of the time. My only suggestion would be to build a second store in Ames. This location frequently runs out of things because they're so busy.

This aldi is phenomenal. Always well stocked and super clean. I love the variety ever changing products that Aldi has with their aldi finds program. They are always super friendly and fast service! As well as having a ton of products that are such a great price. Can’t go wrong with shopping at aldi!

I accidentally scanned all my stuff on a self checkout and tried to use a gift card without reading the sign that gift cards weren't usable on self checkouts, but Jhonny helped me transfer it ALL over to a register so I could pay without rescanning everything:) thanks Jhonny!

Brand new location with tons of space. Aldi offers great prices and a wide selection of products. The staff will always help you find what you need

We needed a few things on the road. We were in and out in a few minutes and we quickly found the Aldi products we know and love!

Good prices, but inventory is very inconsistent - you never know if they'll have an item you bought there before, and they may not have many common items you need. I needed teriyaki sauce - hardly an uncommon item - but they had none. They weren't just out of it, they don't CARRY it. The employees are indifferent. You'll pay to use a cart, (and get a refund when you return it - but it's still a pain) and you pay for any bags you use. The Ames Aldi is not in the best of locations (shares a parking lot with an auto parts store and Texas Roadhouse) and the entrance from 5th street is so steep that you'll scrape the front of your car going into it if you're doing more than 2 mph.

We tried this place because all the produce at Walmart recently has all been rotting, and the produce at Aldi looks soooo much better. I don't have to dig for 5 minutes just to get a bell pepper that looks somewhat edible!

I was shocked with the variety of fruit, vegetable and bread options. Prices seemed very reasonable. The store was clean and fairly organized. The staff was mostly blank and didn't engage in conversation.

I love this place. I love the prices, variety and quality of the food and misc items. I love love love how fast the checkers check out. They are friendly but fast and efficient.

Store is always clean and stocked. Staff is always very nice and helpful. They have fresh veggies and fruits with a very large selection of other products at very affordable prices. The only thing I would change is when I find something new to try and we really like it they don't seem to have these new items 2 months in a row. My recommendation has nothing to do with my home town store rather a general all around suggestion. Maybe try having product surveys on new stuff would help.

An affordable place to shop for your groceries. I appreciate their no use of plastic bags. You could purchase a market bag…one time cost that would last a long time. The only tricky part will be the trolleys. You need 25¢ to get one and there’s a slight difficulty it getting them out - patience helps

Went to my local Aldi the other day and walked back out without buying anything. Place was a mess. Young people wandering around aimlessly like zombies. Discarded products are placed everywhere as folks are just trying to afford their groceries and find they can't due to inflation! Everything was very expensive, especially for Aldis! I know most of them probably voted for this, but goodness, you had to feel sorry for them 😐 they looked so hopeless it was depressing! I finally got tired of trying to find anything in decent quality and at a reasonable price, so I just left!

I drive an hour 2x a month to get groceries here because it's much better quality food than what the stores here offer and the prices at Aldi are SOO much better! I can get 2 weeks worth of groceries at Aldi for less than 1 weeks worth here.

At first I considered Aldi the place to go where you are basically dirt broke, like poverty level-style, searching for change in your car ya know. With the prices of groceries continuing to raise, I decided to do some online research with Aldi because I am looking for ways to save $$. What I discovered was the ways they (Aldi) keep their prices down. Not a lot of staff, not a lot of advertisements and TV and loud speakers throughout, they buy more local. That being said, I was wrong. The type of people I've seen inside appear rather respectable, im comparing these Aldi people to the crowds you see at Walmart. Small families, newer vehicles (to me, a newer vehicles or even an undamaged vehicle says something about the people you are about to see). Aldi does not have as much selection as Walmart or HyVee, another way they keep prices lower. I do not, yet, have any complaints about Aldi. Give it a try.

Probably one of the best grocery stores out there in general.Great variety (usually), always fresh, has a little bit of everything. If you're really into brand names, this isn't the place for you but for the most part, I've had excellent luck with the off-brands this company offers. Like any place, some of it is great and some are just not for you. I tend to find *most* things I need but they do not have everything so I do have to supplement at other stores but not a big deal to get the bulk of what I need from here. The price is slightly lower than Wal-Mart and about the same as Dollar General so it's very cost-effective. I'm always amazed at the amount I get--including fresh produce--and how little I paid vs buying at Fareway/Hy-Vee/Target. There are no baskets, just carts so you have to put in a quarter to get a cart outside but you get it back when you leave. This store in particular is usually clean, stocked, and well maintained with polite and efficient staff. It's located in a very busy part of town and it's always busy! No matter what time of day and I've tried to find the 'best' time when it's not so busy but no such luck. There's usually only 1 cashier but they are very good and moving the line and I rarely have to wait even when it's super busy.My only complaint is that I wish it was a much BIGGER store or we had another one in tow. :)

I am pleasantly surprised and will definitely shop there again. The fruit is nice and fresh and the selection of cheeses, wines and they sell many other quality products for great prices. I think they have the freshest produce in this town. Highly recommended. Bring your own bags or grab an empty box while you shop as you have to bag your own groceries, but for the prices, I think I can handle that!

Aldi has always been an inexpensive go-to grocery store for me, but their prices lately haven't been as great as they usually are. With Wal-Mart right across the street, I find myself skipping Aldi altogether to save time. If their prices drop again in comparison to Wal-Mart, I'll start shopping here once more.

This store is clean, and the value is incredible. It’s always surprising to see how low your total is compared to how full your cart is. Lines can be long, but for the savings it is completely worth it.Also of note: They have a wide selection of organic and gluten free items in addition to other things.TLDR: Aldi rocks and you should go.

Their employees always work so hard that any competition between them is silly. They're so fast when they checkout my cart, I don't know if I'd complain even if one of my eggs cracked while being placed in the cart.Keep up the great work guys!

The prices at Aldi's, are all the same as regular stores. The products that they sell are not the same as what you get in the store. All these used to be the budget store that helped out income families. It does not now

Our favorite place for groceries. Prices are great, selections are outstanding, produce is always top notch, and I can get out of there in 30 minutes. I also eat gluten free food and they have a nice selection of available options.

Aldi is my go to store for all the best prices on produce, breads, snacks and meat. Everything is fresh and the smaller store size makes shopping a pleasure. There are always new items in the frozen foods sections and the cheese selection is amazingly diverse. Be sure to check out Aldi Finds aisle, my past purchases include a single cup coffee maker, several small pans for cooking, bamboo storage containers and reusable silicone food storage bags.
