Excellent historic meat shop. The products and atmosphere are awesome. You need to check out the old smoke room. It's not in use any longer but it's really interesting. The smells are fantastic.

Absolutely the best! The women working there are the nicest most helpful and kind. I will drive 35 miles to get meat there because the help and kindness we recieved. The selection is great and the quality was obviously better then a grocery store. We got steaks and roasts whice where incredible with flavor. This is a butcher location that should be a destination stop for everyone that appreciates good food. The pricing was as good or better then grocery stores. I will include a picture of the steak I cooked from there

I bought the Breaded Pork Tenderloins, Excellent. Really good. Easy to prepare, they go from freezer to pan. Fry up golden brown.

Love this place. So many fine cuts of meat are available. The beef jerky is crazy good. Many German items. Love the sausage and wurst selection. Jellies, jams, horseradish, and mustards. Slabs of pork belly, ribeyes and sirloin and more. I always spend way more than I planned when I come to town. A must if you are in the Amanas

This is a fantastic shop lots of great snacks. Also if the other restaurants are packed you can get sandwiches and other goodies here. They have picnic tables and seating outside. It is a decently must visit in Amana.

I came in there for the first time just to see what they had. What I got was a lesson in how meat was smoked during the 1800s. I got to see inside their three-story smoker from that time period. I also selected from the various cheeses that they had available and some of the meats that I needed. They weren't as expensive as I thought they would be especially with the discount for locals, and the really good sale prices

This place is definitely a must-visit if you are in the area. Very high quality sausages and bacon. They have an interesting collection of preserved items in jars as well.The only reason I knocked off a star was because the cashier was super rude to me for no real reason. I had a coupon from the Amana visitor center for a free jar of German mustard. I must have taken the wrong one from the shelf, though, because she literally snatched it out of my hands while I was holding it. Very unprofessional on her part, but otherwise I had a good visit.

Great meat shop with a good selection of meats (bacon, sausages, etc), cheeses, sauces, sauerkraut, etc. Happily picked up several different types of sausage, bacon, cheese, and cheese curds. Thoroughly enjoyed them when cooking in our travel trailer over the next couple weeks while on our summer RV road trip.

Lots if selection. Can buy little meat and cheese plates, apple butter, beef jerky, smoked hams, cured meats, pickled vegetables, jams, jelly, meat sticks. Oh and cheese.

This place was amazing, they have a wide variety of fresh meats and cheeses as well as a lovely staff who greeted me as soon as I entered. They even have a cute/silly section of bacon flavored items! The beef jerky I got was to die for and the prices are incredibly low for what you're getting. Overall I will definitely be coming back and getting more!

This place is amazing! It’s a block or two away from the main street but well worth the detour. They have an impressive selection of high quality meat and other food items. The staff is very nice and helpful. They had samples of beef jerky and beef sticks. Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a pack of spicy beef sticks. I originally just bought two individual sticks but ended up going back to buy a pack before leaving town. SO GOOOOOOD!!!

This is a must stop on your trip to the Amana Colonies. You can even check out the old smoke stack that was used for the majority of the shop's history. Smells amazing! Lots of fun local delicacies to try and friendly staff!

I have purchased jerky multiple times from the meat shop . It was dry and in larger “sheets “. Loved it. Just got 2 lbs that I ordered. Nothing like what I have purchased previously. At 80.00 I would have expected more. This is nothing special.

12/15/2021. Just received a box of Amana products as a holiday gift and just tried you guys for the first time. The beef jerky was the best Jerky I have ever had and the smoked cheese is outstanding. So grateful to get this massive box as a gift and can not wait to try everything. Hats off to this company for an outstanding craftsmanship. Very very very happy. Highly recommended

This place is amazing! They have superb customer service, they are always super friendly and make an effort to provide great service. I have never had a bad experience with them in my long history of being a customer here. They have wonderful meat selections. My favorites are their beef sticks and beef jerky. They have really good ham and bratwursts as well. Please give these guys a shot if you haven't already. I have been a customer and will continue to be one in the future. A great place with good product and good people working there. 5 stars!
