This is by far the finest hyvee i have frequented. The store was very well maintained. The produce section was immaculate and beautiful kept. The produce were aligned and look amazing. The isles were not cluttered. Unlike other grocers, this hyvee did not over stock the isles.The staff were super friendly and courteous.The Nori sushi was amazing and affordable. They fresh hychi was delicious and good healthy serving. I highly recommend this location.

I absolutely love when I'm using the self checkout the employee overseeing it just stares a whole through my soul because they have nothing else to do. No greeting, no customer service, just staring. I really don't like using the old fashioned checkout because the employees there couldn't care less and bag my groceries poorly.Please stop making me feel like I'm a criminal and start appreciating my spending money with you. Rule #1: I am the reason you are employed.

Basically, it's just another hyvee... they are all mostly the same. I've never had a problem with anyone at the store. We order our groceries, and I just pick them up on my way home for work.

Pretty average store. The meat counter service quality is lacking pretty bad. Used to be able to get roasts slice very thinly. Lately I’d be better off cutting it myself with a pair of scissors.

I'll never shop with you again. Hy-Vee cannot guarantee that my order will be filled completely. EVERY online order I place, there is always multiple things that they are out of on my order.Yesterday, I placed a small online order that included Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi. I called up to the Altoona store and spoke to customer service and asked if they could send someone to check and see if they had the soda. They did and they told me that yes, they had it. I placed my order and waited until 5:30 to pick it up. A little before 5:30 I received a text telling me they were behind 45 minutes and that I would received a text message when it was ready. 15 minutes later, I received a text that you were out of the soda I wanted. I immediately cancelled the entire order and I'm fed up with not being able to get the groceries I need from this Hy-Vee. There is always some issue, incomplete orders, didn't get the fuel saver, terrible bagging of groceries. So, to eliminate the problems I have, I will no longer shop at the Altoona Hy-Vee and will stick with Aldi and Fareway.

This Hy-Vee is merely adequate. It has enough of the basics, but compared to newer stores. it is lacking. The bakery is awful, it is straight out of 1999, as is the produce and meat dept. Hy-Vee needs to put some attention into this store and bring it up to par with what they are doing elsewhere. The Des Moines Metro is Hy-Vee's backyard, and I feel like they are coasting. Their name keeps competitors from coming in, and we are stuck with what they choose to grace us with.

Lifelong Hyvee customer with a family of 6 who has been at this location weekly for years without incident. The customer service on staff today was terrible. I will take my business elsewhere and become a Fareway customer based on this experience.

Ordered Biscuits and Gravy 10/27/22. It's gone downhill since I was here last. Food came lukewarm and bland. I asked for Louisiana Hot Sauce. Was brought Cholula instead. Asked again for Louisiana. Was snottily told they didn't have any. Your a freaking grocery store you cant go get one off the shelf?? You sell it here because I went and looked on the shelf before I left. Very dissapointing. Been this way the last couple of times I've been here.Hey Hy-Vee, I got your response. I don't want to call or talk to you. It should never get this far. You are like Casey's and forget where you come from. Your food wasn't good today and I told you and your staff had a negative attitude.Be proactive instead of reactive.

I love Hy-Vee and our family does buy the Perks Plus membership which is amazing at giving discounts and for getting cheap gas.I only took away a star because the dairy dept ALWAYS has old dates on their milk. It is very rare to find a date that is more than a week out for the AE milk gallons and half gallons. I took this photo today and the milk expires today. I have even found EXPIRED milk on the shelves multiple times. As a past hyvee employee, this is very disappointing. Get it together hyvee dairy dept!

Hyvee is the place I go to for my groceries. This particular one in Altoona has a food that we like nowhere else sells anymore. They also have a better variety. I do go to other hyvees also.

Went to the Market Express for the Sunday breakfast buffet. Highly disappointed. . .we were sat by our waitress, brought our drinks and were not seen again. Eggs were very obviously powdered, waffles were frozen waffles off the shelf. Never had any issues like this at any of the other area Hyvee locations. We will not come here again.

Ordered a cake from here three days prior to pick up. Went to pick it up and got it back to the birthday party served guest and the cake was old.. I mean it taste like it was made on the day that I called and put in the refrigerator. The manger said they make cakes day of I don't think that was possible the cake was very hard and disgusting. I'm not happy at all because I get Hy-Vee order cakes every year maybe because I'm in a different state for the party but clearly they should all follow same rules. If you order here my advice don't be nice calling three days in advance give them one if you want a fresh cake.

Brooke in the floral department is AMAZING! So easy to work with, knows her stuff, can take a vision and blow it out of the water!! We had so many people asking who did our floral for our wedding. The entire team did a great job the day off with setting up and executing perfectly! 100% recommend Brooke for all your flower needs!

The store is awesome. Lots of prepared stuff, very helpful people. All of the Hy-Vee stores I have been in are great. Not huge, but a good selection. Bananas were on sale for 29 cents a lb.

Just a heads up for anyone wanting to order grocery pickup from hyvee. We were supposed to pick up our groceries between 4:30-5:00, got there at 4:30, have been waiting since then with a screaming 6 month old crying because she wants dinner. Finally asked how long it would be and we were told they didn’t know. Went inside and they’re working on getting it together. Finally got our groceries at 5:45. Just a warning for anyone who isn’t able to waste an hour waiting for groceries. Super disappointed because this hasn’t been the only pick up issue for us at this store. I do grocery pick up from hyvee because 1. it’s easy and I have a baby who I don’t want to take into the store and 2. Because It’s only a few blocks from my home, but if it’s this much hassle trying to pick them up I’ll just go to Walmart and save money. Got this text at 5:42, thanks hyvee 🙄
