Algona HyVee has become a full on joke. I have spent a lot of money in this store over the years, but this will come to an end after today. Produce is mediocre at best, isles blocked constantly by rude stockers, empty shelves, (most not all) cashiers whom obviously hate their job and are rough with groceries when tossing down for bagging. Today I bought buy 2 get 2 items free as was printed in the Algona Reminder AND on the shelves under the product. I noticed on the receipt that I wasn't given the 2nd product free. I was argued with at the service desk that that was NOT the deal... when infact that is what WAS printed both places. I was told sorry.... it's a mistake, we can't honor it. Alrighty then. Will figure a different grocery afternoon. Fareway here I come. Life's too short for meiocre service, product and professionalism.

At 5pm they had boxes and boxes on pallets in every single aisle. Some of the shelves were blocked because of it. Shoppers had to dodge around boxes and other shoppers. This is a regular practice for them. This is a community of elderly people and this is a nightmare for them.

Poor experience cashier was rude tossing are food harder then she needed to when she was asked to stop tossing are stuff she just glared at my wife a few things got squished in are bags was not a good experience

Hy-Vee may be a Iowa chain trying to grow bigger, but this store is wonderfully hometown local. Familiar faces and smiles. I’m always greeted and asked if they can help me find something. The store is always clean, and the employees take pride in what they do.I’d like to also give particular praise to the Hy-Vee pharmacy. They always go over and above to make sure my medications are here when I need them. Their team is part of my medical team, and they do their job very well.

It was a little expensive, it looks nice though and fresh food, and i saw someone picking bad strawberries out of the good ones, so it's fresh their watermelon looks great! Their bakery items look yummy, but u did not like how I needed help with the self checkout area and couldn't find anyone to help me, but other than that pretty decent store

Feels & costs like a slick urban store, but the selection is very slim for some items once you get outside of Mason City. Our store lost its deli and nothing has taken its place. New items come in and disappear quickly. Basic items, like cheese, have brands that go in & out of inventory so fast that you don't have a chance to see if you even like the stuff. Comments via the website are routed to the local store manager who, sadly, has no authority over some of these issues (such as getting the bag credit at the self-checkout lanes). The employees and staff are mostly very nice people, so it's a shame to dislike the stores so much.

Nice, clean store. They stock almost everything you could want. Super friendly/helpful people, they rescued me from a self check out. My only observation is groceries and goods are about 25% higher than back home in Ohio.more on things like pop and meats

It's a Hyvee so, it's a nice grocery store. But, compared to newer stores (especially compared to the WI locations), it's quite small with a smaller selection. Clean, friendly staff. Deli used to have great food- but seems they now always have the same few items rotated. Wish there was more selection. Their online ordering and pick up service is a nice feature. Fuel saver is great, saved over $2 a gallon my last fill.

Went for catfood and am satisfied with their variety offered. Little disappointed had to exit the grocery store to enter the spirits side but is well worth it for the variety offered there as well.

Jessica started out nice but seemed annoyed by a second transaction for lottery tickets after spending 1200 dollars in money orders because a regular customer from town needed help she started getting nasty to us. Couldn't understand why she was concerned about the fees of the transaction as well. If I am spending that kind of money I would have them and not my first time buying one she kept saying she didn't know how much they were when I or hubby didn't asked and wanted to make sure we understand that there were fees and didn't know until she rang them. Being 6ft and 52 I didn't think I was 2 yrs old and had to have an adult to explain it to me

They are a well stocked store and I always can get what I need/want. Some of the negative reviews make me laugh because I know those people and they're "Karens". They're upset about high school kids or them not getting their way. I laugh most about when they lie about their experience to be a drama queen. So to sum up it's a good store.

I was buying some wings for grilling and noticed the price/lb on the package was $1 more than the sale price. I asked the meat clerk what price would I be paying - the one on the package or the sale price. She apologized and asked which packages I was interested in. There were only 4 left in the case and I handed her one of them. She then put a new ticket on my package but made no attempt to correct the other packages. My question is this, how many customers got screwed by HyVee because they "conveniently" had the wrong price on the package. I have seen this before so it's not an accident. Be careful when shopping at this store.

The bakery department here is a joke. I ordered 2 cakes from them (after standing at the counter for 15 minutes being ignored). When I picked up the cakes, I realized they messed it up. They didn't use whipped frosting, didn't put a "1" on the smash cake like directed, and the color scheme was completely off. I definitely won't be back. Terrible service and quality yet jacked up prices.

Very nice HyVee store. This store has everything. The treats are fantastic! This store is somewhat hard to navigate (hard to find things) if not your usual grocery store. The only other downside to this HyVee is that the prices are higher than other grocery stores around the area. The sushi is also great for a quick dinner!

Management and staff are wonderful, and the store is always tidy! They always have great deals going on and almost everything you could need! Deffinantly a gem of a store!

Awful experience! The lady bagging my groceries got mad at me because I put the heavy bag of apples which had ripped to the top of the cart and she started to throw my cans of food into the bags because she told me it was fine how she had it. Scared me when she started throwing the cans instead of putting them into the bag nicely. So rude!

This a typical HyVee in a smaller Iowa town. They carry some nice specialty items and you can get a good hot meal already prepared. Some of the shelf and freezer items seem to be limited at times. The staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are comparable to other grocery stores in this town. The aisles and facilities are clean.
