Yesterday I had to make the most difficult decision to euthanize our cat Raven. Doctor Jeff and the entire staff were so respectful of the situation and our decision. We were allowed to go back with Raven and hold her while she passed. We were given extra time with her while they prepared her burial box. They were so careful with her the entire time. I cannot say enough about the level of professionalism and compassion I witnessed. Raven passed with pain free with dignity and a calmness I have never seen. I will forever be grateful for the level of care she received in her final moments. Thank you Dr. Jeff and the entire staff at Holmes Animal Clinic.

This place is the best around for vet care. They saved my dog by finding out early that he had blastomycosis. If not found early, this can end a dog's life. My dog, Lucky, is almost cured. I'll include some pictures of his ear flopped up lookin funny. Holmes is kinda spendy, but as I said, they are the best!

Call for an appointment for AI, which needs to be done on a timely basis, they took six days to get her in for insemination !!? guess what , no puppies imagine that.Then they try to blame the lack of progesterone testing. Get real , when a dog is flagging g and standing. What was the point, due to their lack of caring and scheduling they missed the time, of course! Six days! Waiting 6 days!!!Then they brag that they have 2 week old puppies, ain’t that nice!

We brought our dog to Dr. Jeff Holmes for a leg wound. Dr. Holmes, Abbie, Carly, and any other team member I have interacted with have been great. Most of all I am happy with the care our dog is receiving. We weren’t sure her leg would be saved, but so far her treatment and recovery are going very well. Even though we live a couple of hours away we will be using Holmes Animal Clinic going forward. Thank you for the great care and service!

My family and I have taken our cats here for vaccinations, emergencies, and so on for many years now, even when they were located in their old building. Every visit with Dr. Holmes and his staff has left me well informed on treatment plans and assurance that they will do everything they can for my cats. Recently one of my cats had to be put to rest. It has been very tough but I received a very sweet card in the mail from them, and when I picked up his urn they also gave me some of his fur, clay paw prints, and a certificate. The way it was all placed together was very lovely and I really appreciated it. I would strongly recommend Holmes Animal Clinic if you need knowledgeable, caring, and friendly people for your pet care.

I only have great things to say about this place. I have loved everything from the cleanliness to the pet care! The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to answer questions (and I had a gazillion). I am beyond grateful for their willingness to help my baby Keia and keeping me up-to-date. Although it is quite the drive for me, I am willing to make the trip because I know my dog can't be in better hands. Everyone here truly cares about pets and not just in it for the money. Again, thank you for the care you provided my puppy!

Worst vet I’ve come across. Had an emergency at 8pm. Did not even call back the next day. And not the first bad experience, had a horse colic a few years ago. They advised horse was fine and he died 36 hours later.

Wonderful staff, and Dr. Holmes is a really good vet. I am not from this area, I'm about 3 hours from home my dog was sick and I took her there, the staff made us feel like family and Dr. Holmes did a fantastic job. I will definitely take my dog(s) here again when needed. Thanks for the wonderful care you provide for animals and making people feel very comfortable like family.

Dr. Jeff saved our Husky, Athena. She has a long road, but with his quick diagnosis, we were able to start her on aggressive treatment and she's on the road to recovery. He's very thorough and thoughtful and the staff is amazing! Athena still loves going there even after all the pokes and stays she's had!

This is not my regular vet. clinic but I was faced with an emergencie and my clinic was closed. I called and got an appt.to see Dr. Jeff without any problems. Safety precautions were in place and I was allowed to accompany my dog inside. I felt more comfortable this way, as well as my dog. A big "Thank You" to you and your staff for a job well done! You took the time to see a client that wasn't even yours on a holiday weekend and made her and her animal very comfortable doing so.

Rare to meet and work with a person let alone a DVM who has heart for animals but enough compassion and knowledge to know when we have to be human and make the quality of life choice.All the staff are wonderful to work with! They helped us when are beloved fur baby died! The nurses helped us in everyday they could to make it hurt less! They have a Goodbye room that makes saying goodbye private.The doctor is absolutely amazing and will answer any questions you have! We have brought all our animals here and will continue to do so!

Was a bit of confusion at 1st. I made the appointment for our new dog and when I arrive was told there was no appointment. A 2nd receptionist came out and informed her it's for our new dog,not our older dog who has lymphoma. Once that was figured out,we were seen quickly&our dog seemed to respond well to the vet. Once home,our dog did well on the meds&seemed to feel better in about 2-4days. As I had never been to this facility but my boyfriend uses them regularly for our other dog,he was disappointed being charged for an emergency on part of the bill&the cost of the special dog food our dog needed. I didnt notice this myself as I do not normally take the dogs in and would not know the normal prices like him. Both our dogs are doing well,partly due to the great care at this facility.

Dr. Holmes is simply the best! I have worked with dozens of veterinarians over the years and Dr. Holmes and staff never fail! Dr. Holmes is the best of both worlds, compassion and love for animals, but the knowledge for quality of life! I have worked with them for close to five years now.They helped my dog several times from a pelvis fracture, to punctures, stitches, and now a FHO, femoral head ostectomy. Dr. Holmes and staff allow us the comfort of a small clinic with the peace of mind that their expertise and heart exceed or match those of larger animal hospitals.

Am very satisfied with my experience today with Dr. Holmes. Needed an emergency visit for my very ill dog. He explained everything on the blood test and went in detail about my dogs diagnosis. Not only was he very informative with me he treated my dog with love and respect. I personally would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a vet.

Both vets at Holmes Animal Clinic are great- very professional and personable! We had a sick guinea pig and they each worked with us to identify the sickness he had and explain the medicine he would be on. Other office staff were also very helpful when we were in the office in person or called. Very glad to have this clinic and it's staff in Algona.
