This Dollar general was one of the nicest that we have ever been to! It was super clean and all of the shelves were full. It also had a self-checkout which was super cool since the lady was in the back doing something we were able to just check ourselves out and get going. I wanted to let her know how nice the store was but was lazy and didn't walk to the back lol. The people that work there do an awesome job!!!!

It is getting better. Not one of the cleanest ones i have been in. Need to get better management the workers are not very friendly. Just feel unwelcome st this store.

This was one of the cleanest stores that I have ever been in. The place wasn't cluttered. You could walk down the ailes without tripping on anything or knocking anything down. Love it!!

Always check the dates on food here... First time figured it was a honest mistake but after a few times I feel like they definitely know they are keeping expired food on the shelves..

I spend a lot of time in the Algona area for work and every trip I spend a little shopping time at Dollar General. It is great for items that you need quickly and don't want to go to the bigger stores to get and wait in line. I am usually in and out of here in a few minutes. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. If your looking for ambiance or a long casual shopping experience go somewhere else. If you want a name brand quality product at a reasonable price and want to get in and out quickly this is the place to go.

Went there at 8:30pm when the sign on door and website says they close at 9pm and door was locked and lights were off. Really needed some food for my third shift job. Just have to start goin to hyvee

Waited 3-5mins for 3 employees to stop talking. When they did stop,though I was standing near by visibly waiting,they all w as liked away. When I got ones attention,my daughter saw her get angry when I asked where products on my list were. Store was cluttered. Same lady was nice to another person who seemed to be a regular. At register,same woman gave no greeting to me,manager or lead woman was nice&answered my little girls question. Ok experience.

Its accessible right off hwy 18 and since Kmart closed its a nice alternative to driving out of town to mason city or Fort dodge all the time. On the down side there is limited parking available and it appears to me that they must be short handed because there never seems to be enough help on hand to assist you.

The staff at the Dollar General in Algona, Iowa are very friendly. They know my best friend and myself by our first names. The store is very clean & organized, and I frequent the store many times in a week.

We pulled in at 759 to grab a pop, there was a customer in inside and one of the employees rushed to the door and locked it right as my husband was getting out of the truck. If they are open 8am to 8pm then they should not have locked him out at 759.

Very affordable items. Some lack quilty but Huge savings makes up fornit in the most part. Does lack varieties of brands but over all grwt place to shop for smaller items

You can find most of the Dollar tree stuff and more but for little higher cost. It's little costly compared to Dollar tree but you don't have better options.
