Looking for a new Veterinary office? Do yourself a favor and make an appointment with these guys! Hands down, the best I have ever experienced with a Veterinary office! Dr. Willharm is amazing-knowledgeable, compassionate and caring. The office staff and techs are kind, considerate and offer the best customer service (which in this day and age is so hard to find!) The office is always so clean and decorated tastefully too! They take wonderful care of my fur babes and I'm so grateful for all that they do! 5++++++++ stars!

Very unfortunate experience for me. Charged additional exam fee for booster shots 11 days after a previous exam on a healthy dog.. don’t get vaccines here unless you’re prepared to pay for 2 exams in less than 2 weeks. So many indirect, rude comments from the doctor that made me feel so uncomfortable.. couldn’t get out of the room fast enough. Attempted to make it right before writing bad review but manager never called. My pets will be seen elsewhere :(

I brought both of my dogs to the great team here.Dr. Seth Wilharm won me over on the 2nd visit. At first, I was worried about my older dog being put under for his dental extractions. I was scared about the whole procedure. I took my female in for her yearly and we talked about her and my Lukey's surgery. I left confident and completely assured that my pups were in the best hands. I feel our dogs receive good care but the prices have increased at a fast rate and it seems tests are recommended very quickly. I also don’t like that there so many days when the office is closed or there is no veterinarian there.

Spent nearly $1000 at the Clinic in less than 3 weeks. Not an issue with that. The care was needed. The job was good and the dogs are well. My issue is we were sold a over the counter bag of joint chews for $115. We were told they were needed. Of course, my girlfriend bought. Finding out today, this same bag and Qty is only $40 on Chewey. My guess is this bag wholesale is $20-$25. I understand needing to make a profit but holy hell!We will continue to use Alburnette but all scripts and add-ons will be checked with internet pricing before purchase. (Yes I know the internet is cheaper. If I only had to pay a few $$ more, no worries but there is a limit.

Everyone was so kind and professional. They made sure we were informed and understood every step, purpose, and cost of the tests that were needed for our Louie's upcoming spaying. Dr.Wilharm is wonderful and has the best "Bedside" manner. Pricing was very reasonable considering the current financial climate. We love AVS!

Dr. Lange and Dominique aided us through one of the worst days of our lives. They both have a passion for helping animals, it feels like they are genuinely there to help the animals, not just punching the clock. I’ve never been rushed out for the next patient. Dr. Lange was very compassionate and I knew he could feel our pain as we struggled to decide how to help our old girl. Dominique is always good energy and even helped entertain my daughter so we could say goodbye to our dog peacefully. While they’ve probably seen their fair share of distraught owners, we never felt like a number. They never minimized our sadness and they gave us privacy and time to grieve. Having staff like this during a traumatic time really makes a world of difference.

Every time we've been seen at Alburnett Vet Service, there is virtually no waiting time. They are very professional and informative. My dog always gets lots of attention and comfort. I mixed up my dates on the most recent appointment and I was going to go back on the correct day. They said it's okay and they would be able to see us. How great is that! The entire staff that I have interacted with have been amazing and it looks like a fun place to work. Check them out. Your pets will thank you.

Never going back. Took my 11 year old dog in for a 3 year rabies shot and a wellness exam. I was charged $55 for an "exam" that consisted of the vet flipping her ears over and using his stethoscope for 10 seconds. Didn't look at her teeth, didn't check out her eyes, nothing. We were in the exam room for less than 10 minutes all told and I feel super ripped off. The vet tech couldn't even tell me what a usual exam consists of when I asked and told me that since I didn't have any specific concerns, a more in depth exam wasn't necessary. I guess you're supposed to tell the vet how to perform an exam???I also scheduled my appointment two weeks in advance and expressed over the phone that it would be for a 3 year rabies shot. It wasn't until the tech was ringing me up for the shot and the bogus exam fee and I asked to confirm that she was given the three year shot (they wouldn't have told me otherwise) that she told me my dog's previous vaccine expired the week before so they had to give her the one year shot. If I had been told that's how the shots worked, I would have scheduled her a week earlier! They easily could have told me she'd have to be in sooner to be able to get the three year shot when I was scheduling her appointment.It seems like they only care about getting your money and I left feeling like neither me nor my dog mattered to them at all.

A family member recommended this place and they were spot on. They treated our new furry family member as their own. You can tell they truly care about your pets need. Also they have the cutest little Cat that roams the halls. She was so curious and not to mention beautiful. Our kitten will be seen here for all her health needs!

I cant thank the team enough for squeezing in my cat on the same day today, she had been vomiting all night and I was incredibly worried about her! All of the Cedar Rapids vet offices were booked for the week, and seeing that this was less than 10 miles outside of town it was well worth it. On top of that, the veterinarian and staff were caring, listened to my explanations, and in return gave me excellent information about what may or may not be happening with my Razzle. He prescribed her some anti-vomiting medication instead of simply sending her home to be sick the rest of the day, and she's already feeling a bit better. They also said they will be following up with me tomorrow to make sure that she is responding well to the medications. Thank you thank you for caring about our animals!

I was unable to pay the full balance a month ago when I brought both of my fur babies in. They let me pay it the following month when I brought my youngest baby in for her last vaccine. They have always had my fur babies needs a top priority.

They have been our vet the last 10 years. They have always taken care of our pets with the utmost respect and care. Their prices are super competitive but with the small town care, I feel they are heads above anyone else in they area. None of my 3 dogs mind going to the vet at all which is nice because other places my dogs have been terrified. They did just get a new vet and im unsure of her name. But she does an AMAZING job and somehow has made the clinic even better!

This was our first visit. The people were very nice and very friendly. My cost was half of what it was at the other place that I was taking my pets to. I recommend this place to anybody that wants a caring vet place for their pets.

I was not happy with the service this time. My hurt dog and I had to wait for a very long time in a little room with nothing to do but stare at the wall and listen to your dog cry. Plus prices have went up a lot. I have been going there for over 10 years and recommend them to a lot of people but knew vet still learning her stuff and I am not patient any more. Not a fan of changes. Especially expensive ones. And my puppy my family

Today I took my dog in for a couple shots. My dog is a bigger one and gets a little scard around new people. It was pretty clear that she was nervous and was growling a little. Everyone was trying to make her comfortable except on female nurse who was a little bit older. She came into the room when we were getting her weight and slammed the door and gave us a leach and said "put this on her so she doesn't get loss" she continues to pull her the table. After that she told us to put a muzzle on her I understand it's better to be safe than sorry. However if she would have gave her hand and introduced herself she would have been nicer. All of the other stuff my dog was fine with but when a random person starts pulling you around, putting things on you and doesn't even induce yourself you would feak out too. Over all that one person had an attitude, doesn't know how to treat a dog, and doesn't have any respect to the owner. She also had the audacity to say is she always this aggressive. No she not only to people who don't make an effort to meet her and in my opinion she wasn't that aggressive she was cowering behind a chair and growling because she was scared.
