We had 2 pups that were seen by the animal hospital of Adel. We have called multiple time to schedule appoints, on Stevie’s visit I called 6 times and left messages to schedule appointments and 6 months later have still not gotten a return phone call. We called to schedule an appointment for our oldest and still haven’t gotten a phone call back. This is a vet clinic that doesn’t care. Most of our appointments were rescheduled cause the vets kids had things going on and “btw” they don’t work Wednesday’s. I honestly feel they damaged my pups more than they cared for them. It’s a very scary situation when I can’t get ahold of my best friends doctor and it takes more than 6 calls

We have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Jen but we have been trying to get a hold of the office since November. We have called and left multiple messages and haven’t received a call back. We have called 3 or 4 times in a row and no one answers. We have gone into the clinic during their posted business hours to find the door locked and the parking lot empty. We have sent messages on Facebook and no response. We are changing vets as we can’t get any response.

We started going to The Animal Hospital of Adel a couple years ago. We had never been there before, but we called them in hopes to get one of our boys in as he was having trouble urinating. They were able to get us in that very same day. They were so kind and very reasonably priced. We are now permanent patients here. Dr. Jennifer and her team are amazing. They take great care of our kitties. Not only are they friendly and professional, but they are very thorough and explain things clearly to ensure you know what is going on with your fur baby. If you are looking for a vet, look no further. I cannot recommend them enough.

Very nice doctors and reception! They care so much about you and your pet! I put a dog down here and they made it as easy as possible, and were so caring. I later brought my new puppy to them and the vet made me feel as though she had nowhere else to be and nothing else to do. She gave me and my pup all the time in the world to answer questions, give advice, and love on the puppy!

Our standard poodle has been a patient of Dr Jennifer since we added her to our family 5 years ago. We asked friends for recommendations for a vet and overwhelmingly, Dr Jennifer was suggested. We have all the confidence in the world in her and her well trained, friendly staff. I'm a retired vet technician, so I appreciate the cleanliness of the hospital and the knowledge of the staff. They make sure to explain everything in a easy, understandable way. Her prices are extremely fair. Her love for her patients is very apparent. My dog trots in happily and leaves happily, even after shots! They did an exceptional job on the dental that my girl needed. I highly recommend you choose Dr.Jennifer and her hospital for all your fur babies needs.

I recently started going here for my geriatric cat who has kidney, heart, thyroid, and blood pressure issues. Dr. Jennifer has given him excellent care and her prices are very fair! She takes time to explain and discuss the plans for his care, she consults other vets to help learn more, and she really turns over every stone. He has improved in the 4 months he's been going to her and it's a relief.Dr. Jennifer, is compassionate, thorough, and I feel at ease with my kitty in her care. She's wonderful! I can't praise her enough. Her staff has always been kind and gentle with my old kitty as well.

We have been going to see Dr. Jen and her team since we moved to the area. She sees all of our fur-kids and I would recommend her to anyone nearby every day of the week! The compassion Dr. Jen shows goes above and beyond any vet I’ve ever seen, and we are so grateful to have found her. She always takes the time to listen, does an amazing job explaining everything in detail and does it in a way that is easy to understand. We have been going to the Animal Hospital for 6-7 years now. The vet techs (usually Brittney or Caitlin) there are very friendly and compassionate. It is really nice when you walk in the door and they know who you are and your pets by name. One of the things I like about Dr. Jennifer is she is very practical. She is not one of those vets that orders every test imaginable. She uses her experience to provide you options and doesn't pressure you one way or another. She hasn't steered us in the wrong direction yet. I am actually surprised we haven't reviewed them sooner. But one reason I felt compelled to write a review is when they sent us a hand signed card when our 15 year old dog passed away recently. We were surprised to get the card and it was very kind of them to do so.

We have been clients of Dr. Hoffelmeyer for more than ten years. During that time we’ve had appointments for routine wellness visits, dental cleanings, minor surgical procedures, and other illnesses. Dr. Jen takes time to really listen to our concerns. She is compassionate and understanding. We have been extremely pleased with the entire clinic staff. They always go the extra mile in providing excellent service and treating our dogs the way they would their own. There isn’t enough good things to say about the staff here. Dr. Jennifer is one of the best vets I have ever seen. Long ago my parents took their dogs here and when I adopted my own I knew there was no other vet I’d go to! Even though I live 40 minutes away now, I’m happy to drive all the way to the Animal Hospital because I know my dog is going to get the best care.My dog is pretty prone to allergies and hurting herself, and the staff here is always so helpful. I email them that occasionally with questions or recommendations when something new pops up and they always respond so thoughtfully and quickly. My dog and I both love the animal hospital in adel!

Dr. Jen is wonderful and all of her staff is as well. Clinic is always very clean. We had a canine cancer patient who was very much a part of our family. Dr. Jen took the time to answer every single question we had and help us find the meds ISU prescribed at a lower cost. When his time came to an end she was right there with us, tearing up as we said our good byes. Horrible thing to go thru but they were all so kind and comforting to my family. We trust Dr. Jen for our dogs complete care.

***** Post from 2019 I've been very pleased with the Animal Hospital of Adel. I have found the staff to be very knowledgeable, kind and respectful. I have 3 senior dogs and I believe my dogs would give them 5 stars too! ***** 12-28-2021 I wanted to add to the above post from 3 years ago. I now have just one senior dog :( and I need to say that I could not have possibly had a better experience. I've had dogs all my life and Dr Jen is probably the 4th Vet, I have connected with. She is by far the best. She is not only very knowledgeable she listens to you and does not dismiss your concerns. Her focus is preventive care, but she is respectful of the cost. Her staff members are also wonderful. This past year we lost our 16.5 year old Rosebud and I never felt pressured to give up on her or guilty when it was time. They cried with me when we said good bye. We are getting ready to start a new chapter with a new Baby soon and I know where we will be going for care.

Our 5 year old hunting dog was impaled in the chest when he leapt into some brush. We called our current "ahem, former" vet for an emergency visit. They asked for pictures, then said take him to the emergency vet clinic in Des Moines.We called The Animal Hospital of Adel and they said bring him in. We had never been a customer, but they were willing to scarf down their lunch quick to sew up our dog.We have a new vet to go to, The Animal Hospital of Adel. We deeply appreciate the quick, competent and caring service we all received there.Since our first emergency visit we have also been back for routine annual visit, and monthly while on a walk, just come by to use the scale. When we come in to use the scale we are welcomed as family, our dog gets spoiled and everyone is smiling. It is almost like travel back to a more innocent time just to get my dog weighed.

We were recommend to Dr. Jennifer by our friends when we got our two Golden Retrievers puppies. Dr. Jennifer and her staff are personable and caring about every animal they see. Our kids have been sick with diarrhea for what seems since we got them. We’ve tried multiple dog foods and medications that were recommended by her. Dr. Jennifer is amazing and always willing to help us out with any issues we have with the girls. Prior to coming to her I had a Westie that had CHF and multiple other heart problems. No vet believed me until she was diagnosed a year before I had to put her to sleep. I honestly can’t say enough great things about this team! We will definitely be bringing all of our animals to her🙂

Dr. Jennifer Hoffelmeyer is truly one of the best veterinarians I have ever encountered. Her passion for animals and their care exceeds all expectations. She excels at providing top-notch and up-to-date medical care. Her facility is always extremely clean and pleasant to visit. Her staff members are always friendly and eager to help. When visiting The Animal Hospital of Adel you are treated like a good friend, not just a client. Dr. Jennifer and her staff treat your pet as their very own, which is extremely comforting. Dr. Jennifer listens to your concerns and answers all of your questions at each visit. Even though I have moved out of state, I still take all of my pets to The Animal Hospital of Adel to see Dr. Jennifer, because I know it would be impossible to find better care.

We were originally taking our puppy to another vet nearby, until we realized their prices were outlandish! So after reading all the reviews about Dr. Jennifer we went to The Animal Hospital of Adel to have our pet spayed. These folks know what they are doing and they are ALL very kind and professional to boot! Cannot say enough good things.....HIGHLY recommend!

...We have been seeing Dr. Jen for many years until recently. I had a horrible experience with my little Lab. Granted, when he got stung they got him in immediately but, then we ran into an issue with him call after call with no one calling us back! I decided to go into the office and I was told they don't do call backs for anyone cause there there are too many calls! The conversation continued and I was treated horribly by the two girls, I couldn't believe how unemotional they were!,,they cared less about any animal! For that reason we had to switch Vets . Even now, there are no cars in the lot. Are they even open? The phone is constantly on answering machine .I know Dr. Jen, I have to wonder if she knows what these two girls are doing . If I knew her personal number , I would definitely call her.

I called The Animal Hospital of Adel during an emergency situation with my cat. Our cat was at Blue Pearl and needed a surgery urgently with a daytime clinic. I called our regular provider who told me they couldn’t get us in for 2 weeks. We began calling other providers and AHA was the only one who accommodated our last minute need for surgery at a much lower cost than at the emergency clinic.We dropped him off with Leslie, and Jennifer called me throughout the day to update me and talk me through everything they did. A handful of hours later, our sweet George was out of surgery and came home with us.I can’t say how impressed I am with The Animal Hospital of Adel and how grateful our family is that they saved our precious boy’s life!! We will be switching our regular care here and will be recommending them to everyone we know!!

My dog was very ill and needed him seen. My vet couldn't get him in so I called the animal hospital. Very surprised because it wasn't bad in price. They watched him for several hours and I was able to pick him back up the same day with medication in hand. He's doing great!

My first experience with Dr. Jennifer and her staff was to let go of a pet. They understood that she was not just a pet, but also a child to me. They were caring as if they new the cat for years. Since then I have brought my other cats there too. I love the service I get and feel the staff cares about my pets as if they are theirs. Great place to go!

Our 13 week old shih tzu had been not feeling well and our primary vet didn't have any availability to get him checked out. Dr. Jennifer Hoffelmeyer and all of her staff worked with me to get our pup in and fixed up. They were all kind, professional, and took so much time to help us get to the bottom of what was going on and went above and beyond to get Romeo feeling more like himself. The Dr. spent nearly 30 minutes on the phone talking with me to gain more information, diagnosed and prescribed medications in an efficient manner. I felt she truly cared about my pet without knowing him or me before this encounter. I received an email from her checking in the next morning as well as a phone call from the receptionist in the afternoon. I'm thoroughly impressed by The Animal Hospital of Adel!
