While I enjoy coming it, it's an hour drive for me, and I sure wish they would advertise more like they used to do on Facebook when Jerry Raber owned it. We all enjoyed watching his weekly videos showing what was new and on sale. Driving an hour not knowing what I'll find has me coming back less and less. The store has a mix of in date and out of date foods, with frozen food and a small refridgerated section for dairy products. The sale products they have are generally excellent deals, but some of the smaller products in the middle aisles are priced the same or higher than Walmart.

Great store with amazing deals. It’s definitely worth the hour drive if you are wanting to stock up on meats or sauces and such. They have a very big variety of all different things.

Not very happy. Their website says it closes at 5 on Saturdays and that is not the case. They close at 4. Very irritated when we drove all the way up there for them to be closing at 4.

We drove 2 hours to check it out. Some prices were great many other's were way overpriced. Examples are AZ teas marked 99 cents were 1.09 a can. Cereal aisle was much better though. Things in the freezers were good but the refrigerators were really high. Examples are milk gallons for 3.79? I believe when it's considered high priced at 2.99. The cereal s were damaged boxes but that's to be expected in a salvaged goods store. If you've heard of Bailey's in North Judson, it's no Bailey's but we did buy a cart full of items. Would we travel back from Demotte Indiana, probably not but was something to do on a Saturday.

This is my second review for Raber's. We shop here at least 3 times per month. My wife and I are old hands at seeking out food related bargains. Wherever we have lived, we have visited many so called dent and bent stores, some nice, and some not so nice! Raber's beats all other same-type stores, hands down. We are amazed at the selection, quality and price. Inflation has evidently not affected Raber's, as the prices on the familiar things are very steady, or nearly steady. I applaud the owner(s) for working to keep prices down. The store is spotless, bright, and well stocked. The girls on the floor work so very hard at stocking and cleaning. We love the new barcode price scan system, and I'm sure they do, too! Every item is on your receipt, just as in regular retail markets. Please check out all their departments, including the frozen section. The bargains are unheard of, and new surprises await every week!To sum it up, we are grateful for Raber's, and hope the ownership continues to be successful. Please check them out.

I have shopped at Raber's for years. I go in a lot more now that the new owner has taken over. Now the shelves are full and there is a huge variety of items. I love to try new things and there is always something different to try. Most of the prices are a bargain. Some of the items are outdated but usually the items are still fine. Just depends on the item. I'm glad there is a store like Raber's in our community.

This is a nice little store. I came across it by accident and was pleased to see how much cheaper the prices of many items were, even brand name items. So much more affordable!

Prices are compatible with Walmart anymore!Pop at $13 at case, tomato juice $2.00, meats are by the pound equally the same as fresher at the larger food chains.

It's better now that the new owners have taken over. It's more organized... still alot of way out dated goods but watch what you buy and you can score a decent item or two.. staff could use some improvements... rude. Was the store around 430 and they were doing the nightly closing routines. However when 5 pm hit the employees became super rude.... wanting to leave.. I get that However, people were still shopping... had they made an announcement that the store was closing people would have been better aware... there was no reason for the employee sweeping the floornto tell the elderly gentleman to move his cart so she could sweep. She could have easily went around him and a came back after he moved. And the girls at the front counter could have been friendlier and been more helpful and carried out my groceries instead of not even bothering to ask.. a nice lesson or 5 in customer service should do them some good.

Many items are less costly than non-surplus stores. But...not always. And it pays to watch expiration dates as well as quality. Great prices on bread and many frozen items. On a later date.........went shopping and found some great deals, however, I usually head count my cost and this time it was over $40 more than I thought it would be. Old registers make it more difficult to check prices as you unpack. I did find, though, that 2 items with Hugh signs saying $1.49 as package were charged at $7.99 a package. Some frozen snack like things were priced on signs as $.49 each but was charged $4.95 each, and I got several for grandkids. There were a couple other items which were overpriced on the receipt. When I went back a few days later and asked the little Amish girl in front of I could speak to someone about the price difference, she looked at me as though I was stupid, said NO and said "just read the sign", as she pointed down at the spot where a paper was taped down saying "prices corrected at register"......or something along that line. That just wasn't a deal for my poor self, so I just won't return. Just saying ...pay close attention when being checked out.

Love this store. Great prices on outdated and damaged box items. I have never bought anything here that was actually spoiled. My favorite thing to purchase here is the out of date meat and frozen products. They also have many things that are not damaged or out of date. Only negative I can think of is that at register there is not a way for customer to see the price as it goes through the register. I am one of those people that likes to know for sure I am paying what the shelf says for things. Other than that no complaints. Staff is friendly and very quick checking you out. They even take groceries out for you.

My husband and I hadn't been to Raber's in awhile. We live in Corunna, so it is hit and miss when we shop there. Today, when we stopped by, we were pleasantly surprised by the changes we saw. The first thing we noticed was all new LED lighting, making the store really bright and welcoming. The entire store has been completely reset, and it appeared to be better stocked than we had ever seen! Groceries, HBA, and household goods were all very well stocked with a huge variety. But the best change we noticed was the major price reductions on many items! We asked the girls at checkout what was going on, and they told us Raber's is under new ownership. We hope the new owner can continue to provide a well stocked store with reasonable prices! Thank you.

Outstanding shop to find unique grilling and marinade spices. Jellies and jams add sparkle to a whole Ilse with a good variety of flavors. Many freezers full of frozen meats and ice-cream. Nice fresh bread selections too. Store is clean and employees very helpful. I visit this store quite a few times during the year and I am over 40 miles away! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 they accept credit cards as well.

Amazing deals i love this place, especially with crazy grocery prices these days! I can fill a huge cart for $80-$100. They've gotten better and better at filling the shelves and carrying a bigger variety, especially in their freezer section. I can almost exclusively do all my grocery shopping here if they just added some produce. I even have friends from chicago visit and want to shop here and take home deals!
