Our first time experience with them was unfortunately very sad. We had to have our 14 year old amazing pit-bull euthanized. 😪 He was in pain badly from sore bones and several masses on his body, so it was time. We had to say our goodbyes as hard as it was for us. We knew we couldn't be selfish any longer. The staff was very kind, understanding, supportive, and very gentle. They explained how the process would work and allowed us to be with him during the entire procedure. It was very comforting knowing we were with him until the very end.One thing that I really am thankful for is that they offered paw prints. As pictured, it's a clay print of his foot, his was size large, and it costs $30, size small, maybe around $15-20. Sorry, i can't remember exactly. But it's something we will have to be able to foeever cherish of his.When our yorkie suddenly passed and we had her cremated in Lynn, her cremation total costs were around $200 & that wasnt even for euthanasia plus we only got her paw print on a piece of paper sadly, so i wish i knew about winchesters facility sooner so we could have had a clay print of hers as well. My pits total cost & cremation was around $150, they are one of the cheapest i found & i live in Richmond, I called several places to find the right fit. It was worth the drive, especially for the clay paw print 🐾 I highly recommend them. I saw a lot of customers come and go as we were there, and they treated everyone with kindness and open arms. 🤗Hope this review brings a little bit of closure to another family that will be going through a tough time soon, just like ours did, stay strong, your furbaby will always be in your heart. 💞

Great amazing vet! A few great girls! I'd never go to another vet and he's an asset to Winchester and I don't know what our family and all of my family in Winchester will do when, he retires.. I know lots and lots of families that are dreading that day! Farm animals large or small/household cats and dogs he is amazing!

Been coming to dr.howells for years. Today had appointment to get my puppy's 3rd round of shots. Dr. Wasn't there due to him having surgery himself.So the staff did it . She was very rough with puppy did NOT wait for assistance and tried to give it herself. Lost hold of the syringe and it was flopping back in forth as she tried to regain control of it. Another assistant. Told her to she was going to either stab her hand or hurt him. Have no ideal why she did this. She was very unprofessional and continued to be rough with him.Dr. Howell is out for next few weeks would recommend you do not take your pet in till he is back. That girl will never touch one of my pets again or even want her in same room.they said her name was Hailey. She needs so much better training than what she showed today. Let me say Dr. Howell is a great vet and I have nothing but respect for him. However not so much for this woman.Update,Went in to get my dad's dog his medicine he takes daily. Was told bysome girl on staff that the doctor no longer wants me as a client. She was very rude and well..hateful. I'm sure she didn't tell Dr. Howell how my 11 week old puppy was treated and the horrible names they called him because he was acting like a puppy. I'm sure he wasn't told how they let a needle be plunged in his back, lose grip and the needle just flopping back in forth In his back or calling him a brat and not very well trained. At11 weeks old . Nor that Hailey grabbed him by the neck and was holding him against her very tightly after telling him what a bad puppy he was and refusing to.let him go till he obeyed her. Till I took him away from her and said that's enough.Told another lady on staff there that was going ahead and filling the pills what had happened and what she had just said.She was very nice and told me she would straighten it out, since I had been going there for so many years.I have found a different vet for my 2 dogs and my dad's dog now.Would never tell anyone to come here again. Maybe the girls should clean and do their jobs instead of provoking the clients. Not all are bad adore a few of them. Sorry I sent them the 15 clients that I have in the past.Like I mentioned Dr. HOWELL IS TERRIFIC. Some of his staff not so much. Like the saying goes..when the cats away the mice act out.(play).Poor thing layed around sore like this for 2 days. All 4 1/2 pounds of him.From the needle being stuck in his back that way. Never again.

I cannot find the right words to express how amazing the Dr is and what a wonderful, down to earth & understanding person he is.A kitten I'm temporarily caring for was viciously and intentionally almost beat to death. After calling, texting, and emailing people & clinics from Indiana all the way to Illinois with no help given and even thinking she wasn't going to survive at one point... The Dr treated our Princess with hope in his heart and prayers on his tongue. Because of him, because he came back into work that night and took a chance on a kitten that should have been dead, our princess is alive and amazing!!! ❤️

This is actually his wife Ronda rating different places. Somehow all my stuff is controlled by him.Really like Dr. Howell. He explains everything very well, and is very willing to make farm calls for a very reasonable price. Same with office visits for small animals.

yeah, called to try and set up an appointment for my SICK cat and not even 30 seconds into the phone call the receptionist got extremely rude with me and i felt as if she was shaming me for being a “bad” pet owner. i was about to explain the issues my cat is having and she cuts me off and starts telling me that ALL long haired cats need laxatives EVERYDAY, saying it in a tone as if “you should have known this..” 1) i’ve never in my life heard that 2) last time i checked, you’re a receptionist, not a veterinarian, so maybe save your unsolicited advice for the professionals. 3) you would know that not giving my cat a laxative isn’t the problem if you would have been quiet for a minute as i ran through everything she’s experiencing with you. but whatever. very glad i got to hold onto my money and spend it with a vet who has better mannerisms with clients.

I went to this vet for a 2nd opinion. My previous vet had given me a price of $500 for a dental cleaning and more for extracting aany teeth. I took him to Winchester. The Dr. stated, "if this were my gog, I would do it today." I said, "fine w me." I was to call in 3 hrs. He was coming out of anesthesia and doing well. Picked him up at 430p. They pulled 20 teeth (have 40). Got 10 days antibiotics, 4 days pain med. Total bill $264.00 AND THEY YRIMMED HIS NAILS!!Dr. Howell and his staff were awesome!! From the moment we walked in we were greeted. Hope he never retires!! Will be coming here from now on... AWESOME PLACE

I am leaving a 2 star review for a couple of reasons. I believe the doctor was very kind and I am sure knows what he is doing. That being said, our appointment wasn’t quite as I had expected. You pull in to a POORLY maintained gravel lot that will get your dog’s paws absolutely filthy, and unfortunates you walk into the poorly maintained building to a generally messy floor (especially considering I was the first appointment of the day). I get there a few minutes early and am welcomed by some extremely casually dressed employees who inform me that I will have to go back to my car and wait until the doctor shows up. That was about ten minutes past my “scheduled” appointment time. Once I go back, I expected a decent checkup but as soon as we got back there he was given a shot before the doctor even took the time to ask his or my name. We were there to get his puppy shots as well as check to make sure he did not need dewormed, and I don’t think the deworming was ever checked. Anyways he did a small checkup on him after the shots and promptly sent us on our way out. Prices are pretty low though, I guess you just get what you pay for. I just know I won’t be back👍

We met Dr. Howell under an urgent situation with our senior dog. He showed more caring and compassion for our girl than her own vet, who we have used for 22 years. He has definitely won our business for all of our animals! He is so informative and so caring. 1000x reccomend him!

Dr. Howell and his staff are WONDERFUL!!! They are kind and compassionate and Dr. Howell is very intelligent and skillful. We recently switched to his practice and we are so glad!!! He has really helped us manage our dog's chronic ear problems when we had given up any hope of relief with our previous vet. His prices are very reasonable and they nearly always run on time. Excellent vet care!!

I first took my dog after she had been seriously injured by another dog. I thought I had made an online appointment, but when I got there, I learned they do not do those.They were kind enough to get her in anyway and treated her quickly and professionally.I took my other dog there for regular care. Their treatment was just as professional and, given that I'm on a fixed income, relatively inexpensive compared to my former veterinarian.I referred friends there, and they say the care for their pet is excellent, too.

Called this place because my puppy had parvo and was dying.....the veternarian was all about helping me save my puppy but when i called their receptionist they told me they didn't have room and to go elsewhere even though I talked to Dr. Hal on the phone he said they would take the puppy but their receptionist had others plans apparently. If you want a good veternarian place I suggest taking your furry loved ones to the Lynn veternarian hospital.

We lost our dog after 16 1/2 years. Dr. Howell and his staff offered a very affordable cremation service and were very kind. Even sent a sympathy card. You couldn't ask for a better veterinarian clinic.

Had good luck with them until our friend we had given one of our cats too took her to get fixed and they killed her without explanation and then brought her out in a trash bag and proceeded to be extremely rude about the fact we were upset. Horrible services all the people that work the front are extremely rude and cold the actual vet is the only one that’s seems to be any bit of a decent human being. 0/10 I don’t recommend. Spend the extra money and go somewhere that cares about your animals as much as you do.
