I took my 8 year old Rottweiler in, swollen face from a cat attacking back, finding its way into my fenced in yard.. Davis said he was 99% sure that the swollen face and infection was due to one of my other dogs.. a Pit Bull/Bully mix that was outside at the same time.. he said that, and I thought to myself "is this your professional opinion"? I was right there when the cat was clawing/biting for its life..Davis didn't even look around his neck, to look for anything.. Davis knew that he wasn't eating, but sent me home chewable antibiotics that I was unable to get down my poor boy's throat.. he wouldn't let me do payments on a $300 antibiotic shot that probably would've saved his life.. I watched my poor boy lie on my kitchen floor suffering, and then die, breaking my heart.. he was such a good boy.. knowing Tank wasn't eating, what did Davis think? I am disgusted, angry, and would not recommend anyone take their fur babies here..

I have been using Doc Davis for almost 30 yrs when he was basically a mobile vet working out of his truck for our horses. We love him! Our pets love him too! He & his staff treats us with a very courteous, relaxing atmosphere! Shows professionalism & compassion depending on the situation. He says it like it is. No sugar coating a diagnosis! Serious or otherwise! Shows compassion having to put many of my past pets down. Took care of my injured horses while my family was with my first husband had a serious horseback riding accident, he unfortunately succumbed to those injuries. Doc was great with our horse's care that week. I have trusted him to care for our pets during all these years! I've had the pleasur to deal with the staff at both locations & they have always treated us with the utmost care! Thank you btw! We will miss him the day he finally retires!

During visit w mother noticed her dog scratching much, so called Davis. They took us in quickly, gave shot & pills to pooch—who then slept peacefully for next 3 days straight :-)

The staff and service at Davis. They are always so accommodating and understanding. Our littlest dog has a tendency to nip when scared and they are always so sweet and careful being more mindful of his comfort than their own.

The staff is kind courteous and very helpful with all matters pertaining to our Missy Moo and other pets. Dr. Davis and his staff are top notch in the care and love they give to our furbabies and We are very appreciative of that. Thank you again for taking care of our furbabies. The only reason they get 1 star is because they were nice and the place was clean. Overall the price wasn't horrible. But this vet has now sent 2 of my fur babies home to die! 1st time it happen I thought, because he was diabetic and his little body just gave up. But now seeing within a year and half losing two of my fur babies? Come to find out she had fpv. He barely looked at her gave her steroids and pain reliever and said that's should do it. She died 4 hours later.... im so beyond disgusted with him. He should maybe care a little more and don't see our fur babies as a number in line to push out the door.

My dog got scratched in the eye by my cat. They got me in that day and was very kind. I also got to update my dog on his shots while there and a nail trimming. I was very pleased with the service.

I gave them a prior high rating but my most recent experience was heartbreaking. After seeing my dog, Daisy for what Dr Davis said was a respiratory infection I couldn't get her to keep her meds down, then she wouldn't even swallow them. I called them because she was in distress with her breathing. Dr Davis said they would only be able to do blood test next. I questioned how she would get better if she couldn't keep her meds down. Was there a way to help her get her antibiotics ? And they knew she had to have her seizure meds too. I've went there 10 years with her. They said they couldn't give her any injectable antibiotics. We took her to vet ER in Westville and they found she had a mass in her nasal cavity above her palate and she had to be euthanized. 😭 They found this from knowing how she was acting, her not swallowing and throwing up constantly and by a hands on examination. I was very impressed with the vet at the ER. She was very smart to diagnose our poor Daisy. I can never recommend Dr Davis after this lack of concern ad help.

The staff there are incredibly friendly. They clearly love what they do, which makes it easy for me to trust them with the fur kiddos. The biggest positive for me is not only how knowledgeable everyone there is, but how they take the time to explain exactly what’s going in a way that anyone could understand. I've been bringing my dog here since he was 2 months old. Everyone is really nice, and they always take good care of him. He's always happy to see them. My son has been using Dr Davis for his dogs for over 20 years. He won't go anywhere else. He says they treat him like family.

My experience with all the staff at Davis Veyerinary clinic has been exceptional. I have a 12 yr old puppy dog that needs his nail clipped and the staff is awesome with him. The front desk girl is always nice and the vet tech in the back i wish i new names with the long dark hair is a happy animal lover. I might add the veterinarians listen to you intently and answer all my questions.

I took my cat Miss Ophelia to Davis Veterinary Service, PC for an initial appointment. I had very little history on her as she had been a barn cat and they were able to give me information about her and administer her vaccines as well. Everyone was most professional and so very friendly as well. I would certainly recommend them to my friends.

While in this area for my husbands job, we were in need of getting our husky spayed. We aren't in one location very long, so I was looking for an opening for a spay sooner than later. They had the available opening (thankfully) and got us right in. I actually set up my appointment at the other Clinic in Rensselaer but drove to this one (not from here). They were gracious enough to go ahead and fit my Khaleesi in. The staff was very sweet, professional, prompt and genuine. When picking my girl up later, they gave me detailed instructions on her care and sent home the discharge papers. Not only were they awesome to me, they even loved on my girl and treated her as their own. Recommend 100% to anyone in this area.

We had our first vet visit with Davis Veterinary yesterday for new puppy shots and I had a concern regarding my older dog. My experience was very good. They were all very nice and caring.However, as a 55 year old single woman on a fixed income, I need to try to cut corners where I can. I understand that a lot of a vets compensation comes from the sale of medicines - especially monthly medications like flea/tick/heartworm medication (which has an EXTREMELY high markup). I was previously using another vet which I had no issues with but just had moved and Davis was literally right down the street (walking distance) so I wanted to love them.The cost of the new puppy exam (with his second set of shots) and the minor issue with my older girl (who was prescribed what should have been a cheap antibiotic), came to $165. I was floored. I asked if they could provide me with the prescription for my dogs medications because they can be purchased so much cheaper online and I was told that in order for him to write me a prescription, there would be a $19.50 fee. I asked is that total - so that each time I can get a prescription (which I would have paid), or per prescription. I was told it was $19.50 FOR EVERY PRESCRIPTION.I had to go home and shuffle my bills around to afford this visit. When I compared prices to the other clinic in the area, this is what I found.Flea/tick/heartworm monthly pill:$47 - Davis$23.85 - other clinic$17 - online pharmacy (Chewy)Rabies vaccine:$21.60 - Davis$11.99 - other clinicDA2PP:$25.25 - Davis$14.99 - other clinicRilexine 300mg$24.86 - Davis$7.00 - Walmart Pets$8.58 - ChewyIllness Exam (for my older dog)$56.25 - Davis$44.00 - other clinicOffice fee for vaccinations only:$37.50 - Davis-0- (no fee) - other clinicSo you can see the price disparity between the two clinics, which are not far from each other. And the fact that I have two dogs to provide medical care for, I simply cannot overlook this difference in pricing. Both vets were very knowledgeable and very nice and the staff of both clinics were very nice, so they were on an even playing field.I debated about writing this review but in the end, I wish I had known how high the pricing was here vs. the other clinic. I want to emphasize that thecare that my pets received was just fine - no complaints, but if you are on a fixed income and need to watch every penny, this makes a huge difference in the decision making process.The final takeaway from this visit is that although I liked the clinic and staff and received good care, I also received good care at the other clinic as well. Just because this clinic is in walking distance from me was a HUGE bonus, but I cannot overlook the pricing. And the fact that they would charge $19.50 per each prescription because you wanted to fill it elsewhere should really be against the law. You should be allowed to get the medications filled anywhere you like.

The entire staff at Davis Vet is amazing! Everyone is always friendly and helpful when I come in. I really appreciate everyone’s patience and assistance with my spoiled jerk of a dog during all of his appointments. I recommend Davis Vet to everyone I can and am thankful for the team there that helps me make sure my dog is the healthiest he can be.

Davis Veterinary Service is an excellent place to take your pet for care. I have been very pleased with their clean facility, the friendly staff and the wonderful care our dog Max gets when I take him there.Recently Max got sick. He refused to eat, was lethargic and was having accidents in the house, something he never did. He was seen at Davis Veterinary Service, prescribed medicine and within two days was back to being his old self again.Due to such good care, our pets will continue to be seen at Davis Veterinary Service.

I can't say enough nice things about the staff and services they supply. Having an indoor outdoor cat he has gotten into some pretty heavy scrapes. Whatever the issue they examine him, explain exactly what is going on, ask if we have any questions, and treat him quickly. While no animal loves going to the vet they really do try and make the pets welcome. Such good people.

Wait time for Appt was very reasonable, especially during this covid-19 lockdown. Great care was taken with our, and their safety.Dr was very considerate about the most cost effective route on treatment of issue.Would recommend to anyone looking for a great place for their furbabies care.

They treat animals very kindly but they are just so much more expensive than most other vets in the area. Everything else is so expensive...it doesn't help for pet services to pile on the expenses as well.
