I've been there every day waiting for the Pepsi truck to come so that I can get the six packs of bottles, and when I call no one ever answers the phone. All I want is to be able to take advantage of a sale they're running and the items are not in stock! How do you run a business and not answer the phone!

By far the worst Dollar General in this area!! The “manager” Shay B. and the cashier Angelica T. were extremely disrespectful to my face. They were yelling and screaming at me and as a customer trying to return an item that I no longer needed, I shouldn’t be disrespected like that. This location makes up their own rules and doesn’t follow corporate rules! If you have any experiences like I have today, I suggest you get the employees name and call corporate! Get this trash out of our town!!!

I love the Dollar General in Whiting IN. I love the new remodeling. I love their products. They pretty much have most of what I need. I loved the previous employees and managers, especially Mary. Always service with a smile. Recently, there's obviously been a change in ownership or management. Whoever is managing this Whiting store, has no idea what they are doing. The hours used to be from 8am until 10pm. Now it's a crapshoot. The store closings are now 7pm or earlier. There are many customers that rely on this store all day and especially after 5pm after work. If the new management thinks they are saving money by closing early, they need to find another line of business. No common sense. There's maybe 3 employees that work. Approximately 12 bucks an hour. They close 3-4 hours early they are only saving about $200 bucks to disservice their customers. On top of it, they leave all the lights on while they are closed. I would like to know the real reason why the "new management" and employees close the place early? It's certainly not to save money, that's absurd. I think the new management and employees are either lazy or they do not have any common sense. I heard one employee say to another "oh, we'll just tell them no business so we closing early". Really??? I've witnessed this twice. Once they told me, we closing at 4 because there is no business and then I heard them telling an elderly woman the same thing. Mind you, the elderly woman was walking on the side walk down Indianapolis with her little cart to shop at Dollar General. She went up to the door and was told, we are closing early no business. There's many customers that love that store and you're going to lose them real quick. The place was great until about a month ago. Who runs this place now? And what are you thinking? Please share. I do not see Mary anymore either, which is disappointing, unless I'm just going there when she's not. I would appreciate your reasoning behind your thought process. Thank you.

The store had been rearranged from my last visit. I don't think it's better though. It seemed more disorganized. They no longer carry mattress covers, why? The $ shelves were less sticked.

The place could use a lot of help with the stuff on the shelves so it'll look more decent I know it's very difficult because people go in the stores and they just put everything where they want to put it instead of putting it back where they got it from my name is Ralph Quirozand I've been trying to get a job with Dollar general for a very long time but never getting no respond I would love to work for a good corporation like Dollar general and stock the shelves the way they're supposed to be and have a nice and clean environment so when people come in they feel comfortable just my opinion thank you

This store was ok now they have some rude workers in there. Don't speak when you come in. You get up to the register they just look you in the face without speaking. The store is empty most of the time with stuff all over the place. Worst dollar general ever. I use to love shopping at dollar general not anymore. Family dollar is way better now

This store has by far the most GHETTO staff I've ever seen in my life!When you walk in all you see is weave patting, gum popping, & eye rolling!!! They dont even acknowledge you let along speak or say Hi.The women here are totally unprofessional, I live 3 minutes from this location & i still go to Hammond!!!The attitude on some of the women who works here is truly disgusting.

The store always seems to be stocked well stocked and has a great selection from food, cleaning products, beauty products, OTC meds, clothing, paper products, baby stuff, and more! There are a lot of name brand products with decent prices and even the DG brand products are quite comparable to other big name products! Great place to save $ on all the smalls you need! Just remember it’s a lot easier to spend more money than you intended to while shopping here! Lol And staff is usually always friendly!

I really like this Dollar General. They are always open late, fully stocked (unless it's a huge sale or clearance) and the workers are friendly. They only digital and manufacturers coupons here too.

The manager Dorothy likes to wait until late to unpack the Lysol because that’s when her family members or friends get there . That’s unacceptable. She should put it out when she gets it . Not tell her employees to wait to unpack it. She’s very unprofessional. She shouldn’t be the manager of the store if she’s acting very unprofessional and childish. It should be first come and first serve. Thank you.

This place has terrible service. Some of the workers are so rude. Me, my sister and her friend got accused of stealing. We didnt take anything so they let us go but still it was so rude and humiliating. Theres a family dollar or walgreens nearby which is better.

Please visit this store for last minute items and baking supplies. Friendly manager and good customer service. Check your receipt to make sure digital coupons are attaching. Otherwise great place to shop.

Horrible customer service!!!! Staff is very rude with horrible attitudes that do not help customers and make you wait in line while other customers go and get money to pay for their purchase from their vehicle. When i interruptted the two employees talking to question them about the ONLY line being held up for 15 mins by a customer that went to their car, they then get an attitude and kick you out for questioning how they are doing their job. Instead of trying to help cash me out with ONE item they both start ganging up on me together. I would of been cashed out and gone before she got back if their conversation wasn't more important. I will never go back there again and make sure everyone I know doesn't! I was there for 35 mins and was still not given any type of apology just rude outburst.

The cashier's aren't friendly and don't welcome non-caucasion customers. They dont greet you as they do the caucasion customers. They also follow you around the store as if you're a criminal, simply because of the color of your skin. I NEVER had such an experience at any other Dollar General. Two thumbs down!

The lady was awesome she gave me a cell price on a pair of pants that wasn't on sale but the exact. I was in a different color was on so so she actually gave me the sale price which is awesome

Very reasonable prices. But when you try to check out the ebt machine won't take cash but will take food stamps. Need to get this fixed or lose business cause of this 😞

Decent if you need some items and you have little time. Downside is customers want to buy carts full of whatever, when you have 2 items.
