We've been looking for a smaller sized dog for over a year. We were so happy to find not one, but two! They came in as a pair and obviously were attached to each other so we decided to re-home both. We were thankful for the staff who assisted us. Even though they were short staffed, they were patient, answered all our questions and even stayed after closing hours to get our adoption completed. Their love for their jobs and for the animals at their shelter was evident. I would highly recommend this shelter!!

....I adopted a wonderful dog at the animal shelter in Wabash, Indiana. His name is "Luthor", he is a treeing hound, very entertaining and playful....Great people who work and volunteer at this shelter, so please always adopt at a shelter, never buy a pet from a breeder, or pet store. Nice people but we have a cat problem. The Animal Shelter never has openings for cats. I had to call Police regarding a dead racoon on my sidewalk, Animal Shelter referred me to DNR or police station. Officers took care of it. Poor thing died

Please adopt don't buy. Also please spay and neuter your pets to help from overpopulating.. Every pet you adopt from WCAS will be spayed/neutered & microchipped & up to date on shots.

My grandmother died on july 26th at 2:30pm. She left behind her dog who was getting old and would try to nip at her grandchildren. I took him to the shelter and they wouldn't take him bc he was our pet. Basically if i would of lied and said we found him they would of taken him. The man was very mean and cold hearted and had absolutely no compassion for my family. He said they were full, so I asked if i went to look at all there dog kennels they wouldn't have any empty ones and he said the empty ones were for emergency only....aparently a death in the family is not an emergency.

Never bring a stray here or any other dog for that matter. Half the people who work here passively abuse their animals, yank the dogs around by the throat barking orders at them and try to call it " training them." I've adopted many animals FROM here, but i will never ever take one to this kind of environment again.I also called a week ago about a hurt stray wondering down the street and the man who answered the phone laughed at me and asked how long ago i had seen the dog. I said " 5 minutes" and he said " psh. That dog could be 10 miles away by now!!!!!!"I went out and found the dog one street away. All by myself, on foot. DO YOUR JOBS. PEOPLE CALL YOU FOR A REASON.

When I went there to get a dog and was told after the application that it would be 7 days before the dog was gave away but 4 days later the dog was gave away. Wish I could give 0 stars
