Was passing through town, as I walked in a gentleman in the parking lot flipped me off and tried to hit me with his white jeep, whatever - it’s BFE so stuff happens. Staff were not friendly with the exception of two of them. Store was confusing and I didn’t see any firearms displayed. Got in and got out as soon as I could.

I had decent experiences at first. A few years ago, when inquiring about gear for archery, however, it has kept me from going back. A chest and wrist guard are literally used in the Olympics, but when trying to purchase a chest guard, i was treated like a fool. First employees acted as if they had never heard of such a thing. 2nd was that if i was using the bow properly, I'd have no need for it. The guard isn't just some padding for the inexperienced. I should have purchased one online, and i may have avoided some injuries/mishaps.

Had an amazing experience at J&L Sporting Goods. The staff was extremely helpful, patient and friendly. We had our nieces with us and they kindly let them pet different pelts and animals & even put a TV show on for them. We will definitely be returning! 👍

If you're into guns, hunting, fishing, pretty much anything related to that type activities (new and used handguns and long guns, shotguns, bows, ammo, scopes, gun lights, concealed carry purses, reloading supplies, reloading, gun building, repair, every type of fishing supply, I'm trying to think of anything else but I'm sure I'm forgetting a million things then go to J&L Sporting Goods in North Vernon. They have an awesome selection of merchandise for every budget and the staff is amazing! The owner, Joel sat down with my son for at least 30 minutes and talked fishing and got contact information for a fishing team among other things. I cannot say enough good things. No, this is not a paid endorsement, just super impressed because it's hard to find those qualities in this world anymore. J&L also carries some of the most top of the line firearms and calibers that you don't see anywhere else in the area. If you're looking for something I'm particular, chances are they have it, or can get it. Joel is also honest and fair on trade for used guns. Joel is about as direct and honest as they come. Nothing but awesome feedback!

The staff are always friendly and helpful. I have never felt pressured about anything while I've been there and have felt comfortable asking them any questions I might have. I enjoy using their Techno Hunt when I have time to stop in with my bow.

For a local place it's fine, especially if you like hunting and fishing. I enjoyed that I wasn't continuously bothered while shopping, so I could peruse around. As far as selection, it definitely needs more tactical gear and accessories. Some stuff wasn't even labeled, so I had to guess alot. Ammo wise, all I found was .38 Super and the like. Common calibers were few and far between. 300 Win Mag was plentiful.

Sign on the door as you come in says we won't ask you to wear a mask and we will assume if you don't have one on that you have a medical condition. Okay, whatever. Me and my family came in there wearing masks and they were making fun of us for it. Jokes on them because they're the idiots. Nobody working there were wearing them so they don't care about you at all. These people probably get their medical advice from Jimmy Joe Bob on Facebook.
