Had a recommendation for VonTobelfrom someone for our gas Fireplace in Michigan City.. Tom was sent out and did an AMAZING job! Explained the system, checked it out completely and fixed the issue..when I couldn’t relate it after he left (hours later)he came back to explain one of the steps I had forgotten-and s great craftsman on ALL fireplace related issues. TOTALLY recommend this Pro as well as VonTobel…hard to find specialists like this!

Edited: Came back to order. Waited 50 minutes and there is NO ONE in the whole store that can order for me. Talked to three people, manager is "in a meeting". I was told to make an appointment and come back tomorrow. REALLY?Great experience at Von Tobel in Valparaiso. I had been planning a bathroom remodel for months and was completely overwhelmed by all the options. What should have been a fun project was becoming something I dreaded. Then a friend told me about Von Tobel and their designer, Danielle. I stopped in and Danielle was able to guide me through, make decisions, and I left with excitement. She made it fun again and now I can't wait to see my beautiful bathroom!

Jenny made shopping for carpet a very pleasant experience. We really enjoyed working with her. Also, Mark did an awesome job installing the carpet. He's a hard worker and takes pride in his work. Overall, we were very happy with Von Tobel"s and will use them again for future projects. :)

Working with Jim at Von Tobel was absolutely wonderful!!! He help us turn our ugly bathroom into a beautiful masterpiece!! It looks like it belongs in some one else’s home!!! Jim was so easy to work with and has a warm heart, is patient, funny, kind and sure keeps you on your toes with wit!!! Can’t wait to work with him again when we redo the kitchen!!

This place is the best. Von Tobel is top notch in my opinion. I have worked with Jenny several times. From picking back splash, to choosing flooring, Jenny provides feedback and help on the hard decisions and makes purchasing and installing a breeze. They are my go to design team/company for my personal home and the new builds I manage.

Had a very positive experience with the personnel and work of Von Tobels. Jenny was an excellent project supervisor: competent, responsive to communicating with us, flexible, and has great sense of humor. Mike was an excellent hard wood/vinyl tile installer and also easy to work with. He is a perfectionist, so we got along great. He even caulked the baseboards, which was a plus!My only reason for not giving a five-star rating is that there were many marks on the walls and baseboards that needed to be fixed, and nail holes were not filled in.

We were promised our delivery would be delivered on May 23, 2021 and we hand not heard anything back from them... my husband , who took the day off work to wait for this delivery..... called and said said what time they’d arrive....only to find out they failed to get I aches scheduled for delivery. I blame Adam Trinks. You know... being in customer service myself... I’d say at least a follow up call. Common courtesy call was in due. Only to receive our materials days and days later only because of our complaints.... I’m sorry. I usually love Von Tobel, may your prices be higher ... but this experience was the worst. Please.... work on your follow up and customer service skills. As this could help your business growth and leave a poor review like ours.... again, a courtesy call a day before saying the items won’t be delivered on the scheduled date should not be hard for ANY of your employees... coming from a sales background.. follow up with customers and customers is key IF you want to keep the customer happy... good luck and I hope you learned something

I don't think I have ever been disappointed by any work Von Tobel has done for us over the years. Yesterday was a great example of the staff always being well-informed and ready to help. I went in with a question about an 8 year old bathroom fixture, that seemed to be deteriorating, not expecting much of anything in the way of information or replacement, but hoping for a suggestion for a quick fix. Jim Bolka, in Plumbing, took a quick look at my phone pictures, knew immediately what was wrong, gave me the contact info for the company, told me about their lifetime warranty (what?); and told me how to prevent the problem once my new fixtures arrive and are installed! It just isn't that often that one gets full tilt service and a great ending to a bad story! Yay, Jim Bolka!

I have been to Von Tobel many times and while their prices may be a bit higher than the big box stores, you always get great service and better quality. I built two houses years ago using Von Tobel and both experiences were excellent. Highly recommend

Our Girl Scout troop has been working with Jim, and thanks to him and Von Tobel we are on our way to building a Gaga Ball Pit for one of our local elementary schools. Working with Jim in the fireplace department and couldn't ask for a better guy. He has been on top of everything 100%. He has contacted me a few times to see if everything is working out and working properly.. Even stated he would come and help insert our gas fireplace.. At the youthful age of 63 this is the first time I’m building a new home from scratch! It’s been a non-stop exhilarating pick and choose and / or edit - months long process. It’s coming to an end and I’m here to tell anyone who reads this that Danielle, at the Valparaiso, Indiana Von Tobel’s was excellent and deserves this 5 star rating. Danielle’s a Floor Specialist in title but she’s every bit an astute decorator! I got lucky! She helped me to coordinate pretty much the entire interior look of the home! I’ll throw in that the rest of the staff are friendly, professional and not pushy. I appreciate Danielle and my builder who connected us. Choose smart and right from the start. I've bought thousands of $$'s worth of products from Von Tobel's- flipped 3 houses and build a brand new one. Ordered flooring that when we went to install it, didn't fit together properly. I told them there was a problem and after a rep came out for less than 10 mins was told there's nothing wrong was given a link to an installation video. Tried to hire their installers and was initially told no. Then after wading through excuses hired their installers who said the exact same thing- something is wrong with the product. Now, no one will return a call, an email, nothing. I'm disgusted by their service and recommend everyone to go someplace else. Even IF this gets resolved, the hassle and the unprofessionalism will prevent me from doing business here again. That's not even bringing up other orders that were messed up and delayed for weeks because of incompetence. If I wanted to deal with people that messed up orders and didn't have any customer service I'd go to a big box, now I will anyway. Edit to my original post- no one has talked to me over the phone in weeks. I've called and left voicemails and all I get is an email 4-5 days later. This has taken months. It's obviously flawed/damaged, it doesn't take that much to at least say a new product has been ordered and we'll replaced it for you. Weeks and weeks go by and still no resolution. Another edit- 2 more weeks, still no news. Was told in 48-72 hrs I would hear something, 2 weeks later still nothing. I email, leave voicemails, nothing- no one responds. I've yet to hear anything about the flawed product being replace, reordered, anything. What a joke, I've told everyone I know- don't shop here. Don't believe their response, Connie never reached out.

Excellent service, fantastic response! I contacted Von Tobels after exhausting all the names that were given to me by a contractor who did the electrical work on my house. I needed a part for an electrical transformer for under cabinet lights and lights in a display cabinet. I was told by an electrical supplier in Crown point that they would get back to me by Tuesday. They never called me back! I called Jim Bolka at Von Tobel‘s and he told me that he would call his supplier on a Saturday and would call me back with an answer. Jim called me Saturday and told me he needed pictures of the transformer and numbers off of it. I sent him all that and by Monday he told me he could get me the part. Jim made multiple calls to me to keep me updated as to when the part would be delivered to the store. I was lucky enough to get to meet Jim when I picked up the part today. Because of the excellent service I received from Jim and Von Tobel’s, I am a committed customer!

The worst customer service I have ever received. I ordered a window but the customer service guy (Adam) forgot to put the order in. Instead of owning up to the mistake and try to salvage the order, he claims there was some sort of mysterious glitch. Then gives tells me the order will be 12 weeks out. When I called the window manufacturer, they said 8 weeks max. So another lie. When I went in to get a refund the cashier was about as snotty and rude as could be. She blamed me for the problem. I will never do any business with these people again.

I have driven past this place for the last 3 years and always wanted to go in. decided to go today and what a waste of my time.First off, none of the employees were wearing masks period. they had a sign at the door that all entering have to ware a mask but why dont the employee need to abide by the state rules?secondly, the google search said that they were open until 5. We walked in at 3:55pm and were asked what we were looking for and my answer was " just wanting to look around" and the employee response was " well you have 5 min so figure it out"i work in the interior design industry and I will never recommend people to go there!!!
