My family and I had a fantastic buying experience!!!To those posting reviews without experiences with the store or never going to the store, you know you can be sued for defamation and loss of business, right? It’s totally winnable and Google can also be sued too for allowing it.In my family’s experience, the girls that work there are super nice. They have rules for the dog’s protection, which is a good thing if you are the next buyer in the door. The girls keep the store very clean and are good at attending to the dogs and providing customer assistance. The dogs are taken out 2 or 3 at a time and allowed to play with each other. Perspective buyers can also play with the dog privately. The owner Riley bent over backwards for my family to help us find the dog we were looking for. She went a step further after the purchase when we had questions. The dog we bought is an English Bulldog. We took him to the vet and he is completely healthy. We went back a couple weeks later to see our dog’s sister. Again, the girls were super nice and made us feel welcome. We enjoyed all of the employees and they are really good with the puppies. I highly recommend!!!

First off, those that have bashed this business have admittedly never been in the establishment and if they knew what they were talking about, would know that the local shelters are overrun with second hand pit bulls, no thanks.Secondly, they had exactly what I was looking for. The facility was clean with the puppies out of their crates all playing and well taken care of. Courtney and Rylee answered any and all questions that I had about every pup that I asked about. The girls truly love the pups as I have brought mine in a few times during our walks and they remember her name and always welcome her in to visit with open arms.

Was driving through and saw this store while passing. I googled it and went back with my daughter (3 years old) to see if she can see some puppies. The place was super super clean, and the staff was really friendly. My daughter didn’t hold any puppies just because she’s small so I didn’t ask, but she had just as much fun petting them and watching them play! While there i saw the staff being super attentive to the puppies and immediately attentive to any messes. Normally I wouldn’t leave a review for such a short simple visit, but after seeing all the negative reviews to a place I personally thought was overall nice, I wanted to share my experience. We will definitely be buying from this location in the near future!

This place makes feel despessed due to the employeesd are vibe killers. I just lost my 18 year old. We are in market for a new dog.The labs had poop on them.Other that the prices are fair dogs are cute financing available.I under annoying people wanting to pet them not buy but that's just part of business.

I’m glad we decided to stop in here and talk to the employees/ owner. Was hesitant at first because of it being a “pet store”, but boy was it a fresh of breath air. This place is so great! The dogs were all playing when we came in, clearly in good health. And shortly after they all started snuggling together in a big dog pile… so adorable. I spoke to the owner and did the due-diligence that most people online are neglecting to do. We talked about the process of where they get their dogs, and how the owner personally visits these dogs homes, vets the breeders, and verifies the mothers are in good health and NOT overbred. There are so many mean people on here that want to group this store in with all of those chain pet stores. But this one is DIFFERENT. It’s a woman born and raised in Valpo that has found a way to bring beautiful purebred desirable dogs to Valparaiso for families and people to visit and adopt the dog of their dreams. I think what The Puppy Emporium is doing is so awesome and a really cool business to have in our town. Shame on everyone who is sharing negative things without actually talking/ visiting the store to have a conversation!

I dropped off my high school daughter and friend to look for a puppy on my way for a date with my wife @6p. The 2 employees were rude and turned them away because they didn't have an I.D. to prove they were 16...This isn't the first time I had a bad experience. I went in a couple months prior with my 11yr old to see if any of these puppies would be right for our home. They rudely told us that we couldn't interact or touch any of the puppies unless we signed something that we were serious about buying one. Puppies need love even if you don't decide to buy one. Absolutely terrible place to go!!

First to address the immature reviews. The dogs are not kept in cages. They have them out all day long playing with one another. Not sure why you guys are here reviewing a business with negative reviews for no reason when you don’t have the slightest clue how amazing this company is. I bought my female Frenchie from here Willlow and she has been the most amazing thing in my life. Thank you to the owners. It was such a pleasure. If you don’t like this business keep moving along.

What an incredible experience! The dogs socialize with each other all day and our sweet little Kona is amazing around others. The staff is so knowledgeable, feeds high quality food, and loves on these pets!! Kona may be getting a sibling from here one day..

this place is an absolute puppy mill. they preach about being ethical but 90% of their dogs are doodles and merle frenchies(or just very obviously poorly bred) not to mention no ethical breeder is going sell their puppies, to a store like this. never met the ladies inside, sure they are great. but a business like this should never become a thing. this is all for money regardless of how they word things. never one to want to bash on a women owned business like this, but places like this cause more harm than good.

Got a new puppy from this wonderful business!! We went in to see what they were about and ended up finding the cutest puppy! Let me just tell you these puppies are very happy. They are out running all day long, playing, or cuddling with the employees. You can tell they love each and every one of these puppies. I strongly suggest you go check them out before you jump to conclusions.

For those who believe that The Puppy Emporium is just another puppy mill, you are mistaken. I spoke with the owner and she was more than happy to discuss what breeders she chose and the research she did prior to. I stayed for two hours playing with puppies as the majority of them were out of their crates and happily running around the store. If anyone who has doubts about this store would take the time to go inside and see the quality of care those dogs get, the thought that goes into each and every one of them, and speak to the owner about their concerns they would see that she just wants to help the puppies find a loving home.

I stopped by a few weeks ago and the staff was very nice, and it was no pressure, they have us ample time with a couple puppies. Timing wasn't right for us, but we'll keep this place in mind when the time is right.

I have been looking for a puppy for awhile now, but just didnt trust any of the places i was looking into. Until i went here, the owner was absolutely wonderful to my family and I. I knew right away i was at the best place to find our new puppy. The place is beautiful, and clean, and all the puppys are so healthy and beautiful. I left there with the most gorgeous and loving frenchie i could ever ask for. Thank you so much Riley for the care and attention you showed to me and my family. We are so grateful for your business.

Went to this place a few days ago and puppy emporium has some of the cleanest and most diverse breeds to choose from. I never had a dog but The employees were nice and they were able to handle the dozens of questions that I asked. I really recommend this place for anyone who wants a dog.

What don't you people understand about where these dogs come from? They come from puppy mills. And you are willing to fork over thousands of dollars or even finance (if you don't have all cash) the purchase. Reputable, respected dog breeders do not use a retail middlemen to sell their dogs.

Rylee is awesome, she spent over an hour with us one on one to make sure we had every base covered with our new Yorkie. She even called the next day to check in on how he was doing which I really appreciated. If your looking for a puppy I highly recommend this place.

My sons and I love coming in here and playing with all the puppies. The owner and staff are so sweet and knowledgeable on all the puppies. Every time we come in the dogs are always out and playing with one another.

Reputable breeders would NEVER sell to a puppy store. Shame on Valpo for letting this store come into town and shame on the owners for contributing to the spread of cancers, genetic mutations and diseases in dog lines. REAL breeders have YEARS of history of a dogs line. And it’s to PROPERLY preserve healthy dog breeds. They also spend thousands to test their breeds genetic lines for diseases/ cancers/ hip dysplasia and others prone to that breed. And they would never in a million years sell to puppy stores. Ever. These dogs are coming from puppy mills or backyard breeders which are both incredibly and morally wrong.

It’s pathetic that the positive reviews I am reading are literally from friends of family and family. Their social medias say it all! It’s 2022!! Dogs don’t belong in crates or a place that has no access to the outdoors. I asked the owner what happens to the pups when they get too old or big if no one adopts them? She said “I’ll contact the breeder to see if they’d take them back” does that make any sense? This place is a JOKE

LOL YOU HAD TO BUY 5 STAR REVIEWS?!!! WOW BUYER BEWARE - So horrible, these people should be ashamed! I can't believe Valpo allowed this company to open & operate here. For the people leaving 5 Stars and asking "did you visit the store, talk to the owner, ask where the puppies come from, how much/often the puppies are let out of their cages, the size of the cages, etc.." No, we don't have to talk to them to know those answers. And if the answers were any different than a PUPPY MILL they would advertise it with proof. That building is so small with zero outdoor space.. it wouldn't matter how often they are 'let out of their cages' because they are just let out into another boxed in tiny room! It's so unethical. Please go adopt from a shelter or use a trusted breeder.

These store fronts are just disguised as puppy mills and are for profit. If they say they are ethically sourced and have passed USDA inspections that is not saying much. Google usda requirements for breeding dogs and it is still terrible conditions.

Congrats on opening the worst & the most unethical business in Valpo. If you want to buy a puppy mill puppy that will have a greater risk of genetic mutations/ diseases/ cancer/ hip dysplasia and others issues prone to the breeds then this is the store for you.The owner & her family leaving 5 Star reviews should be ashamed. This business needs to be shut down. Please do the research and buy your pet elsewhere.

Rescue a dog and don’t buy one that could be from a puppy mill! Valparaiso has several wonderful shelters. Don’t support this store and lobby for Valparaiso and Chesterton to pass laws prohibiting the sale of animals in stores.
