Check your price at finalizing purchase here they tag it one thing but scan differently when you get to the cash register and they like to talk smack about you snickering like a bunch of children side eyeing you for calling them out on their b.s. will not go back here the manager is a child and there cashier's are incapable of reading.. not just a disgruntled customer 4 items they tried to charge me almost 5 dollars more than what the tags had said

This goodwill is very neatly arranged. Very clean. Seems like there’s always staff cleaning. Cashiers aren’t bad. This place has some really good hidden treasure. Never a bad experience whenever I go. I’m a huge thrifter!!

Everything here is so ridiculously overpriced. It's the only goodwill nearby and it's nearly impossible to find a good deal. I thought you were supposed to be able to get used clothes for cheap at thrift stores but I can buy brand new stuff at Walmart for cheaper! What a waste!

Most of the cashier ladies are very nice I'm honestly here to complain about six table chairs that they had and I wanted to buy two and they wouldn't let me do it they said all six had to be sold, even though there was no table to be found!!! It's probably not the biggest problem with the store but super frustrating

Nice people, clean place and well organized. They are constantly restocking items literally every day a couple times a day. Any time I go in there looking for something in particular for clothing they usually have several different things to choose from. The clothes are always clean I never see any dirty garments or clothes in the inventory. The staff is very helpful and polite and if you purchase something large they will actually load it in your car or truck for you. The cashiers are always very polite even though I've seen people in line being very rude. The cashiers and Associates stay professional, polite and do their very best to get the rude people in and out as fast as possible. I do highly recommend this Goodwill store because of its organization and cleanliness of the items offered. They have cut hours, I think they are short staffed. I noticed prices have gone up dramatically. Still a fun place to visit for stuffed animals for our dog.

First of all i love this store I shop here all the time my problem though is the management. Always yelling at their employees and setting unnecessary policies. I saw so much employees walking out crying it's sad. Hopefully it gets new management.

It’s a nice store, but there’s not always the most popular styles. It’s definitely one of the more old school Goodwill’s, but they’ll have a few hidden gems.

Nice store. Plenty of selection of books and clothes. Changing rooms were clean.

I usually bring all my donations to this Goodwill. I will no longer donate here though. First, they don’t even help you unload your donations anymore. They just stood there as I unloaded a heavy glass end table by myself. I also donated a very pretty chandelier that they told me to put in a bin. They took that bin away and brought it back as I was unloading the glass table and told me that they don’t accept chandeliers. I took it put of the bin to put it back in my car and it was now broken. In addition, I checked the store out last week and saw that most of their items are insanely overpriced. Why would I buy an old picture that has clearly been used, for the same price as one that I could get at HomeGoods? Some very poor decisions are being made at this store and sadly it will affect the people that are supposed to benefit. You can do better!

Hello , I shop at the Valpo goodwill a lot and spend quite a bit of money there ! I returned something recently and they gave me a store credit no one ever told me you had to use that in 30 days… it was for 48.15. This was about a month ago ! so today I went in to Goodwill spent over $100 went to use my store credit and she told me that there is nothing on it and if it’s older than 30 days than it is voided. Then she threw the card on the garbage. I wanted it back and she refused to give it back to me. I honestly don’t know if it was past 30 days either way the situation was handled very poorly and I am out of $48. I find that very ridiculous and frustrating.

Paid $120 for a dresser, it fell apart as the staff was taking it out of the building. Had to argue with the raccoon looking manager to get my money back, had to have her boss do the return. Then a customer tried handing them a computer printer and said, “I don’t want it to brake so I’ll just hand it to you.” That same manager said, “oh that’s fine, just throw it into the bin.” 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Stay Away! Their Sunday & Monday Tag Sale is the biggest scam in NWI. Below is a photo of the manager working a cart of this week's green tags. What they do is as soon as they open on Sunday, they start to pull all the current week's items off the shelf. They then pull the hangers and push the carts into the back, so you can't get them on sale. Even worse, I was able to get an item before they pulled it. However, the cashier manually enter the price so the discount didn't come off resulting in a 75% overcharge. Like I said, the biggest scam in NWI.

Do NOT Donate Here! This location will not help you unload boxes. They have rolling bins to place your items in while staff stands there to watch. They also break glassware on purpose. I heard breaking glass, so I warned the employees that the boxes I was donating were mostly antique glassware and crystal. I opened the container to show the guy and he said, stuff like that we will keep, precious moments we will sell. As I got back into my car I saw other employees standing around a large bin tossing glassware in to shatter, I saw one hold up a crystal dish I donated and toss it in the same bin in order to break it. Had I known that they would break antique crystal I would have donated to a shelter or church or posted on Facebook for free….

You can buy a new t shirt or tank brand new for $7 and that’s how much they price them here. A t shirt should be 1-3 $ pricing here is terrible

Always good stuff at this good will however employees tend to be rude. They block aisles and walkways stocking won't move and don't say excuse me when they plow past. Customers r not treated considerately. Time for basic manners 101....adding to my comments , went to 50% off this Saturday. Looks like the staff tucked away all the good stuff in the back someplace and left out yucky picked over junk nobody wants. Very disappointingWon't be back any time soon.

Consistently great items because of the college kids, however very overpriced (Goodwill's in Illinois are actually half the price and Plymouths is about the same with more stock), and the short, older cashier lady is the worst part of this Goodwill. She's incredibly slow at what she does; I've seen people at my work the same age who just had knee surgery preformed move faster. People literally take their clothes off the hangers before they get to the register because she takes such a long time to even put the HANGERS away. Sometimes she misses tags on clothes and makes up her own price, which I've caught her doing twice now (I ended up paying about 5 bucks more but that isn't the point). She also isn't attentive. When asked if I wanted to use my points I said "no" and she clicked yes then went "oops. Sorry bout that". I'm not sure if people are too polite to say something about her work morale or if they don't mind waiting 30 minutes first in line to be checked out with 2 sweaters and a pair of pants.

This specific goodwill is hilariously overpriced. $15 for any pair of Nikes, whether they’re wearable or not. $7 dollar T-shirts. $5 books. Save yourself the time and don’t visit this one, go to LaPorte in Michigan City.

Seems like a little bit smaller Goodwill location. A lot of books. Shoes were seemed like they were all mixed up between mens/women's and sizes were completely random. Overall was fine. It was rather busy at 3pm on a Tuesday.

Some clothing items are over priced. I don’t think a shirt that looks worn with snags should be the same as a brand new shirt. Lots of their donations are in terrible shape and should be tossed out. I tried on clothes with my 2 young daughters, only to have an employee pound on the door and demand we not take a cart in there with us. Why? We weren’t hurting anything. It’s hard enough for 3 people to try things on, we brought the cart to carry clothes. Not very accommodating to patrons, and that was embarrassing for no reason. Bad vibes from that place.

Tried donating several bags of fairly new children's clothing. They said they were too short staffed to take it. Very Unfriendly. We will be donating elsewhere from now on.

The supervisor there is a nasty person. She heads up the donation side where I have been giving many nice articles of clothing and electronic items. We brought a brand new in box bed frame to donate. It was rather large and filled our back seat. She refused to take it - even after her workers took it out of our car.I reviewed the list of things they don’t accept and new bed frames are not on that list. She didn’t care - just rudely told me to leave.Yeah - I’ll be back there to give them things. The Goodwill in Michigan City said they would gladly accept the bed frame.

Great staff! . But if you're going to donate somewhere, please do some checking on the organization. Nearly 1/3rd of the money you give goes for upper management salaries, with the head people making $300,000 plus a year. And they pay their workers small, small amounts. I did a story on them back when I reported, and I'm sorry to say the organization does help the poor, but almost half of the donations and money leave our community and go to their headquarters. Please donate to BETHESDA THRIFT SHOP or the MEN'S SHELTER. All of this money stays here and does amazing things for us locally. And as I said THE STAFF AND MANAGERS AT GOODWILL ARE AMAZING. They can't fix a broken organization. Please help Valparaiso by keeping out money in Northwest Indiana. Thanks.

In the all the years we have been going here, I have been able to find some decent items, but the prices are absolutely ridiculous for a thrift store. I can't imagine paying $3.99 or more a baby onesie....you can get brand new for that on sale at department stores or online. Jeans are $9.99,$12.99 or more. They will sell items from the dollar tree for $3. Just mind blowing that their merchandise was all given to them for free and then they turn around and sell it for stupid amounts. Local ran and owned thrift stores are the way to go, probably won't be coming back.

We had horrible customer service today. The cashier was offended after we brought it to her attention that our items were ringing up wrong. The young blonde manager just walked away when we questioned the situation. The cashier never shut her mouth. We were trying to help her and buy our items at the correct price. The rudest cashier we have ever met anywhere.

One of the nicer Goodwill stores that I've visited. The store is clean and tidy, and the staff is usually pretty friendly despite the vast amount of people stopping by looking for bargains. This location usually has a good variety of items available that constantly changes. There are several monthly events that allow you to save even more (Students - Save 10% off every day with your Student ID!). There is also a convenient drop-off for donations as well at this location.

I went here once about 6 wks ago and said I would go back, but I gave it another shot and for sure won't be giving it a 3rd. Try because their prices went up again!!! They are getting too greedy. They had a bag of Crayola crayons with probably 20 crayons for 2.99, jeans went up AGAIN, they are 8.99-12.99 and higher yet if they are brand name. Was told by an employee that they only pay their help 8.00 an hour and the big wig from South Bend is driving a luxury vehicle wearing a fancy mink coat, should show you were the money is going.

The store was very clean and the employees were so nice! The only problem I had was, there was one poor lonely cashier and about 5 people in line. I felt so bad for her. Maybe it was just the time of day, but there wasn't enough help.
