It’s only a matter of time before the union medical group is indicted for insurance fraud! I’ve had two separate encounters with the bone and joint center and I’ve complained on each occasion with nothing ever done. I’ve had multiple procedures done in spite of my request for a steroid injection in my neck that the initial specialist recommend after physical therapy. After those three procedures to nerve blocks, burning the nerves down verb brace 456 and seven they chose to go ahead and give me that steroid injection, which got me back to work after three years. Nothing ever said no calls return I would strongly recommend against using anyone with the Union medical group, which is now a shame since they bought out regional I don’t know where to find service locally anymore !

Absolutely will never take my daughter (1 year old) here again. She had a fever of 104.5 and vomits when given medicine orally. This was her first time in a hospital and she was very scared, crying worse than I’ve ever seen. The nurses treating her insisted on giving her medicine as she was freaking out. They head nurse called in 2 other nurses to hold my daughters arms while the head nurse held her head back to administer medicine, all while my daughter was screaming. Not even a minute in and I had to push the head nurses hand off of my daughter and tell them to stop. My daughter then projectile vomited the medicine due to aspiration. It was then that they mentioned an acetaminophen suppository, which I didn’t even know was a thing at the time. The whole incident could have been avoided if they had lead with that after I told them she didn’t tolerate medicine orally very well. They left the room, came back shortly after and kept insisting I give her the medicine orally myself while a nurse watched. I felt pressured into doing so so I tried (while she was still freaking out). It again resulted in her vomiting even worse than the first time. THEN they had another staff come into the room and speak to me like a child, explaining my daughter needed to take the medicine and how it would help her (obviously. That’s why I was there). Her entire demeanor was indirect, awkward and quite frankly made me uncomfortable. Very unprofessional. It wasn’t until after the second time vomiting that it came to my attention there had been a mix up in communication because they mentioned I had refused to let them give her a suppository, which I never did and would have much preferred. They then proceeded with the suppository which helped almost immediately. Had they done that first we could have saved 2 hours. They are not experienced with infants/toddlersThey have poor communication skills within staffAnd they were most definitely not comforting and compassionate in a highly stressful situation

Union Hospital long story short I went in with sepsis pneumonia they sent me for kidney dialysis. Plus for the idiots that forgot me in dialysis and had to come and get me and saying wonder if this will be under workman's comp you are idiots. Sent me to Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis to die. They tried wouldn't give my medicine, ended up at Methodist Hospital where they had to incubate me things started to go great now. Union and Kindred Hospital also They double dip on some of my bills and will not return it yet. They owe me over $1,600 now they are trying to say insurance took money back and i owe over $16,000. I met my out of pocket 100% paid. The lady was very rude in billing. Transcare ambulance cost over $4,000 out of network on my insurance they didn't care. They didn't give me a choice on Ambulance Service if they did it would have cost me zero I have met my out-of-pocket.

In March 2024 I spent 8 days at union hospital in terre haute. I wish I could remember everyone's names but Brett,Heidi,Chelsie,Pam,jen, Dr buapti and so many others in the nursing, therapy and food service did such an incredible job of making me feel safe and very well treated during this scary and painful event. I gladly give them 5 stars would gladly do more if it was offered. 2 East a staff is amazing

I went with my daughter to the Union Hospital emergency room in Terre Haute. We waited for SIX HOURS and NEVER received proper health care. The receptionist was unprofessional and rude. I approached the counter with a question about what was taking so long after the FOURTH hour of waiting and the was met with a threat of having security called on me.

I've had screening and imaging procedures, and now an emergency procedure at Union, and the 2 stars is only because the service and medical staff were actually very good - but it all falls apart in the bureaucracy. The medical professionals (understandably specialized) either do not know how to connect you directly with the administration it takes to help you complete documentation for insurance and claims, or (especially in my case) the only point of contact doesn't respond at all 16 days after you attempt to contact them, and then goes out of the office for another 10 days, with no way to find who to contact in their place. Meanwhile, the patient's insurance or leave provider may begin denying claims, turning the process into an appeal and drawing out the agony of your medical care. This is not good service. This is also absurdly bad when you consider not assisting on the administrative side means it makes it more difficult for your patient to actually pay you for services. If Union could get their administrative side worked out, they'd be a 5 star provider.Edit: I did finally get a documentation follow up, from my surgeon's office, not the department that was supposedly responsible. It resolved my claim, but with an unnecessary and harmful delay. What really confounds me is that the Union Health Care system's clinics operate far better on the bureaucratic side.

Came in very sick and couldn’t breath fever for almost 7 days. Dr Patel before ordering any tests tells me it’s just viral and I’ll be fine .. he did blood work and a flu test.. then comes out as me sign discharge papers and no one even took me back for xray yet then says once you do that you can leave like this is very unprofessional. He didn’t even tell me my blood work results NOTHING.

This is from another women’s post. Just spreading awareness! On october 24th 2023 was the worst day of my life. & being so dealing with union hospital in Terre Haute Indiana in the worst day of my life made it even more traumatizing for me & my family. This day my son unexpectedly passed away. This might be a triggering post for some people. On October 24th I woke up around 5 am and my 2 month old baby boy Wesley was cold. I called 911 and started cpr on him. Praying to god I could somehow bring my baby boy back. When the fire department & ambulance arrived they took him away. To which they eventually asked me to meet them at the hospital ER. When we got there I was a mess, even so I was trying to be patient. The two women at the desk were purposely ignoring me even though me, my mother, & fiancé was in distress. I finally cried to them,” where is my baby? I need to get to my baby.” To which they ignored me and said to the other person how I RUDELY interrupted them. Finally a nurse came out. Her name was Kim Parrish. She then brought us to a room to give me the notification. She lacked any empathy to me & seem annoyed with the fact she had to deal with me at all. Like I was a burden & my child’s death was an inconvenience to her day. I cried to her & begged her to see my baby. Which she was rude and refused to allow me to until law enforcement made her. When I was in the room with my baby boy talking to him & crying she threatened to kick me out many times. I asked her “how did this happened, what happened to my baby?” She said to me “babies don’t just die.” She said this twice & just shrugged at me as in an accusingly fashion that I had done something to my baby boy. Anybody who knows me knows that Wesley was showered with love 24/7 he was my precious baby boy. Still is my precious sweet angel baby. He was cuddled and loved constantly. He passed away from sids & this nurse acting like this to me really made me blame myself for a long time. No mother in this situation deserves that when you are going through the worst possible thing to happen to somebody. I will never forget it for the rest of my life how this woman & hospital treated us that day when I lost my beautiful baby boy Wesley. Please avoid this hospital if at any way possible being they did nothing about this situation & obviously lack any empathy for other human beings for which is a huge part of working in that career field.

Woke up feeling very sick this morning so my primary physician sent me to Union. When I got there I was so dizzy and my breathing was off feeling like I was about to faint. When the guy came to get me for a room I’m telling him I’m bout to faint because I couldn’t get up nd get in the wheel chair he said “do u want me to get a nurse I said yea” he walked off took 20 plus mins to find a nurse are you kidding me 🙄 between that time I got super hot nd my vision was going out getting ready to faint nd trying to breath I felt as if I had to throw up.. when I got ready to try to make it to the restroom I vomited a whole bunch in the lobby in front of ppl. Still No help what so ever. No staff gave me a napkin to wipe my hands and face only the receptionist brung a trash can lol no wipes or anything it was very No care, No help at all like they didn’t care. I’m so disappointed in the care of that shift they all sucked! 👎👎👎👎👎👎 12-21-23 @11:30am

Ok so I was told I had tendonitis after the doctor had xrays done, but you can't see tendonitis on xrays. I do not recommend this hospital over 4 hours, mis diagnosed, and was a nightmare of an experience.

AAAAppallingAtrociousAbhorrentThey neglect patients then lie in medical records to cover their up the neglect! The patient advocate only lies too. The most evil place on earth! I feel very sorry for everyone in Terre Haute now that they own regional too. I thank God I was able to get my husband into I.U. health so now he actually has a chance. The rudest, most heartless and neglectful place EVER! My husband's call light had been going off over half an hour so I went to find someone. I found several watching Tik tock videos, on Facebook etc.... then they cop an attitude for asking them to do the job they are being paid to do. They took several shortcuts that put my husband's health at risk, threw his cell phone in the trash, respiratory came 3 times and just said " I'm going to punch in some numbers " which was ALL he did. Never bothered checking my husband on a ventilator. So much more but basically Hell with lying demons for employees. Finally got the medical records . I've already found several lies charted by lazy , Rude heartless nurses who were angry that I asked them to get off their butts and do the Job they are paid to do. If not for Jesus my husband never would have survived the abuse and neglect here. The patient advocate was rude as well. Avoid this place at all costs . They are EVIL!

they are about to take over the Regional Hospital in town. Regional is amazing and the people are friendly, and make sure you get the service you need. Union has too many nightmare stories to count and my own stories are too long to write down. They actually break the law on a regular basis though. Don't believe me? Go there yourself. It's scary to me that they are taking over a good hospital. Something is not right here.

I was treated badly !! I would rather take the drive 1 hour to Indianapolis than to go there for anything again !! They kept staring at me like I was on drugs and even when I let saying I was dizzy they still took me out saying they need the place for someone else then put me in a cold room !! lol 😂 !! Oh when they finally came to get me again I just was to tired to tell them my problems and how I was feeling as they were not listening !!! I told them I need to go !

just finished a call at 353 PM, 11-14-2023 with their billing. Once again the most horrible experience ever. The woman i spoke with was combative, argued and insulting. I told her i did not like Union Hospital billing and she made it clear that Union Hospital doesnt care!! The call just reasserted that its the WORST HOSPITAL EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! I by mistake had lab work done and thought it was Labcorp. My mistake!!! Ive drove to Fransiscan since February to avoid Union. This rep just made me more determined to KEEP DRIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Have in the past given a 5 star review for this hospital and it's staff. I'm sorry, but this time I can't due to a very incompetent nurse, who ruined my whole stay and made me very uncomfortable. My medicine was never on time and often I was ignored for an hour or more when using call button. When did they stop asking patients when being discharged about their experience? I would have liked to report her and tell about the wonderful one who made it all up to me when she came on.

Do you want to spend 6 hours in the waiting room in agonizing pain?Do you want to have to ask for everything and be met with attitude when you do?Do you want them to GET YOUR DIAGNOSIS WRONG?Then Union would be the hospital for you!

I was taken to the ER for severe pain. They took me back around the corner to Triage 1 where they asked me a few questions and diagnosed me with something that has NOTHING to do with the area of pain! And, they gave me papers on when to call 911, which I already am dealing with most of those symptoms, which they neglected to take care of! Careful! These people will kill your family members because they don't practice anything but getting people out the door, regardless of how sick you are! They almost killed me in 2020 when a had a cyst on my pancreas the size of a baseball! Went to the ER and to every doctor appointment for almost 3 months. When they FINALLY found out what was wrong, they had to transport me to Indianapolis by ambulance, I was hours away from dying of an infection that could have been found with a CT scan 6 weeks prior when I first visited the ER, because the doctors they have did not know how to treat the problem! These people are a danger to you and your health! Take your family ANYWHERE else! Save their life!

Care seemed to drop the longer we were there. They called for transfer to nursing home and didn't tell patent or family. Lucky to have been visiting at the time. No excuse for the lack of empathy and communications. My info was on the chart on the wall so no excuses. This kindathing happened last visit, I failed to inform the higher ups of the problem. I will try to address this with management on Monday.

I'm beyond mpressed with the level of care my father received at Union. The staff is caring, compassionate and willing to go the extra mile to ensure comfort to patients and their families. Highly recommend for joint replacement surgery and therapy. Thank you to all the amazing staff!

Sitting here in my room (4176) waiting for a real answer to the question "when will Rhonda be discharged?" My nurse is amazing. That fact is what makes this a tolerable day. I have talked to someone from several disciplines, the final a doctor who saw me for five minutes during my stay and then we wait. 3+ hours later I started asking questions. One particularly nerve bending statement "it's up to your nurse and doctor to get you discharged . Case managers have no say about discharges. We can't just wave our wand of magic fairy dust to make things happen. Said she could only help with post discharge issues. In the many years that I practiced Nursing, I never threw my fellow Nurses under the bus in such a cowardly and unprofessional manner. Medical professionals need to pull together and support each other and their patients. Last I heard I will be discharged today. Hope there is enough fairy dust to go around!

Beautifully renovated and filled with caring staff. Cafeteria is stocked with a big variety of healthy, reasonably priced items. Parking is a little sparse and I REALLY don't like the piped in advertising blaring from a TV in the waiting rooms (VERY TACKY TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE VISITING SICK RELATIVES, JUST TO PUSH YOUR AD DOLLARS)

This is by far the absolute worst facility I've ever been to in my life. My 20 year old daughter had to go to the er with gallbladder like symptoms. Severe abdominal pains, constant diarrhea, and vomiting. Couldn't even hold water down. The did an ultrasound, blood work, and urine tests. We sat in the waiting room for four and a half hours. Never even saw a room. Then basically told nothing is wrong with her. Instead they just wanted to push pain pills at her. She wasn't looking for a quick fix. She was looking for a cure. Incompetent people. Don't let your loved ones go here. You'll be sorry you did. I know I am.

The medical Staff deserves 5 stars. However the Administration is jeopardizing the lives of patients.Requests for services are delayed to just days before needed causing cancellations and rescheduling of up to 30 days. Cancer patients don't have the extra 30 days before treatment. A we're sorry doesn't cut it.

I went to Union ER on November 30th per advisement of my PCP at the time. After being checked and blood draw completed I was told I needed to provide a sample and was asked if I needed to use the restroom then. I stated I did. After holding it waiting for the sample cup that they were bring right away for close to three hours I went to the nurses station who provided the sample cup. After returning to my room which had no television bed was a gurney that did not adjust I waited five hours before noting I would be leaving. Five hours of no contact from anyone on staff. This was after being told I was severely dehydrated and my potassium and magnesium was dangerously low. There was no call button in the room. They stated they felt admitting was needed but then stated I would waiting 2-3 days or more for a bed to open up. I left noting on the AMA paperwork I didn’t feel waiting days for a bed to open up was reasonable. My levels continued to drop and I was again advised to go back. Again minimal care or treatment. Was again told I needed to be admitted but would have to wait days for treatment when one became available. They then documented in my medical chart that I was non compliant with treatment and only left because I didn’t want to be admitted. As a result Dr. Martis from Iliana medicine dropped me as a patient as she works under a union affiliated office. They falsified my medical records resulting in my losing my medical provider and appearing like someone who doesn’t follow medical orders virtually blackballing from getting a new primary care physician.

All I can say is this establishment does not know if they are pitching or catching!!! 🙄😒 you have to Dr yourself, make sure your appointments are correct and do your own insurance checking! They should be paying me!! Now they don't offer a discount if you pay your bill in full and on time. This hospital as a whole is pitiful. And by the way, watch out getting lab work done, Union has taken over LabCore so insurance may not cover, as ours does NOT, and no one tells you that, LabCore now has an independent building and charges much much less,,go figure!

I set myself on fire in a welding accident so I went to the ER. Though the hospital was not equipped for burn treatment my nurse Nini was very helpful and very sweet! She did a great job in taking care of me. Dr. AJ was very thorough and he did the best he could in helping manage my pain which was rather excruciating. They did a great job. Some people don’t give people in the medical field the respect they deserve. These guys were amazing and though I don’t recommend finding your way to the emergency room I do hope if it ever happens you find yourself in their care.

Dirty. ER room floors were filthy, sticky and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in days. Someone else's blood on bedside table.I've seen gas station restrooms cleaner than the restroom in the lobby. Unacceptable Union hospital. Unacceptable. On the positive side. The ER staff we kind and attentive for the most part.

Union hospital and any affiliated office are the ABSOLUTE SLOWEST facilities I have ever experienced. I'm currently being treated for cancer and see multiple Drs in Indy and I can literally drive to my appointment be seen and drive back in the same time frame it takes to be seen at a union health facility. I'm not even going to get into the countless mistakes that have been made knowingly and due to lack of knowledge. It is so OVERWHELMINGLY SCARY going on this journey with this quality of health care. I 100% believe administration /management are to blame for most issues. My experience with the actual staff providing the hands on care, doctors, nurses and technicians has been positive 90% of the time.
