Absolutely the best customer service I have ever experienced, they went way above and beyond to accommodate us on our way from PA to AZ, Glen is the nicest person I have ever met and I would recommend this hotel to absolutely everyone. Clean rooms, super friendly staff and Pet friendly. I'd come here again in a heartbeat, every employee here deserves a raise and a dinner on the company for being so awesome. Keep up the good work.

Had the best experience. The extended stay room was huge with a kitchenette, full-sized table, a comfortable king bed and a tv watching area with recliner. The downtown hotel is located close to the famous Crossroads of America--7th Street and Wabash Ave--and is a clean and well restored historic building. The staff is fantastic, so friendly and helpful. I left a bag behind, and they worked to make sure it got mailed back to me. Highly recommend.

Stayed one night traveling my pet. Great to find places that accept pets as this is really important for those of us that travel with our pets. Place was clean and fresh. Parking could be better as it is around back and the only place I could find was the home for hundreds of birds that crapped all over my car. It was covered with poop on the hood, grill, lights, bumper, windshield and quite a bit on the roof. Need to do something about that.

We had something like 10 rooms at this hotel for a family wedding in July. The rooms were large, clean and quiet, parking was easy, and we could walk to a lot of options for meals. The "lending library" had so many good things for guests to borrow, even a copy of "Bridesmaids" for the bridesmaids to watch! The staff was extremely nice and helpful. I want to give a special shout-out to Jasmine, who was very patient with all our calls and questions and went way out of her way to return some lost items to me. We planned this wedding from a distance, and I am grateful that our wedding planner suggested this hotel to us.

That was an amazing hotel.the staff was available and very polite. When we first got there it took a little time because the room was under my aunt's name but a phone call fixed everything. When I wanted to purchase snacks and laundry detergent there was always someone there ready. And the. Rooms were so clean and fresh. It was so cool that each room had a special sign for specific demands like my dad's wheelchair accessible to enter inside and the bathroom.I can't wait to go again.Walkability: There was plenty of room for my dad's wheelchair inside and in the bathroom shower.

What a lovely experience!! We had a great time staying at this beautiful hotel. It is located to many points of interest in the downtown era. Our room was very spacious and comfortable for our visit. We will totally be back. We adored this hotel.Nearby activities: There are two museums and several groovy restaurants nearby within walking distance.

Nice quiet little hotel. And every room is a small furnished studio apartment, with kitchen. Much better than the other hotels/motels in the area, and for not much more cost. The staff is very helpful. The laundry room is free. And it's located downtown, with an assortment of bars and restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend it.

When my husband and I travel we usually take our little dog with us, who is not a service dog. When we were told at another hotel that they only accept service dogs, I panicked. They referred us to this hotel. I called; there was no hastle in reserving a room for the night of July 9. My husband nor I have ever stayed at this hotel before. When we walked into our room we were very surprised at how large it was. The room looked more like a suite than a standard king. What surprised me so much was the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash that were attached to the shower wall. It was like what you see on a cruise ship. The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows were nice and big. The only drawback was that, for the price they charge, they don't offer a hot breakfast. Other than that, our stay was very pleasant.

I was working at the Swopes Museum just across the street so this was perfect. Love the features that have been preserved from the old Terre Haute Tribune. Rooms were very nice and everyone I interacted with was very friendly and courteous. I was here for 7 days so I really had a chance to test things out. Free laundry came in very handy. Lots of nice places to eat within walking distance, really had a pleasant experience.

We loved our stay here last year. Very friendly, clean, free laundry big plus, a commissary with a large selection, and so much more! You definitely pay less than what those amenities are worth. You're also right at 7th and Wabash (the original crossroads) and also every possible type of restaurant you can imagine. Right off the ISU campus. Rooms are like a studio apartment and very clean!Give it a try and see the old charm of the former newspaper building perfectly preserved.Nearby activities: Terre Haute children's museum is next door, art museums, restaurants, shopping, ISUSafety: Very safeWalkability: You don't need a car for any downtown stuff all close togetherFood & drinks: Wide variety and choiceNoteworthy details: Inside old newspaper building and it's beautiful

We had a lovely weekend stay at the Candlewood Suites in Terre Haute. We were assigned to a handicapped accessible room, which was absolutely gigantic. There was a separate kitchen, living room, and bedroom. The bed was soft and comfortable. The room and the entire property were among the cleanest I've ever stayed in. Staff were always friendly. Zero complaints! If ever we find ourselves staying the night in Terre Haute again, we will 100% return.

Clean and quiet !! Pet friendly too. For the price they should have complimentary breakfast !Rooms: Large ,clean and mini kitchens in every room. If your staying several days or with kids it is well wirth it.Nearby activities: Children's museum for families, Larry Bird museum for basketball fans, winery 🍷to sit back and enjoy the view !! Something for everyone !Safety: The hotel had security for the eclipse walking around the parking lot . I don't know if this is normal or if for the event. The back door was activated with a key card only.Walkability: You can walk to attractions, restaurants with out side dining and right across the street from thr convention center.Food & drinks: Sorry, we brought our own food and snacks and we where also visiting friends at there house.

Business is Business.Specific rooms are not available on a first come first serve basis it's more of a social class/social status basis and they will let you know which class you're in.Terre Haute locals are not known for their "white collar" business professional demographic that the candlewood clearly targets. Maybe this was my mistake of disclosing being a Terre Haute local that needed a place to stay as my home was damaged by a heavy storm.For the majority of my stay I had a great experience. Rooms are nice and the staff was friendly. My only complaint was my room had any sort of view blocked by a concrete building which unfortunately made it seem more like a prison cell (clearly exaggerating but you get the point).I made my complaints very early on in my stay and was told they can't do anything about it at the moment but would make a note and get back with me. Okay.A few days went by and I decided to follow-up with the front desk to see if there were any updates. To my surprise the room I requested was finally available and unassigned. She even started the process of creating the key cards until what appeared to be an assistant manager stepped in and put the whole thing on pause.Went through the whole process of explaining how I would really like a room with a view ect... told him my situation ect... he didn't give me any answers and the front desk associate and the assistant manager went to speak with the general manager in the back room. Oh how I would have loved to hear this conversation.First round of coming back from the backroom the assistant manager claimed how it's going to be very expensive due to... I cut him off and said that's fine. He appeared shocked and immediately turned around and went back into the room which they were all in for a solid 10-15 minutes again just to come back, apologize for the wait and tell me the room isn't available.Lots of things to unpack here. Why bring up price in the first place if they clearly, already made up their mind. This was disgusting.Why did they assume I can't afford it? Was it because I'm from Terre Haute? Was it the way I was dressed/my appearance? Race? Religion? Sex? Orgin? Age?Bringing up price in the first place destroys their claim that the room was not available. How did they see that playing out? Certainly wasn't by accident if they all got in a private room to discuss it.I believe most people will enjoy their stay here however, because of this incident I did not. Again, associates great job. Management do better. Thanks.

My expectations have been exceeded! Not because there were no problems but because of the response to an issue that occurred.We all make mistakes. What we do next is what has the real potential to build trust.AJ was so earnest and genuine in their desire to correct a problem. Rarely have I ever seen their level of humility. Typically the buck is passed.Very impressive and refreshing!!!Aside from a communication issue on the rate which was more than fairly corrected later I was super impressed with the attn to detail of the room. When traveling for business or being away from home often we will spend a little more to have stocked kitchenette only to find it doesn’t have much that’s useable. There were several little touches I have never seen elsewhere like a pitcher for beverages, plastic containers for heating up food, larger garbage receptacle, ice maker (came in handy for a swelling issue during my stay), steak knife and a laundry basket in the closet!Surprisingly, you’ll pay extra only to find there isn’t even a basic item like salt and pepper (they had plenty).Great housekeeping, A/C blows nicely so that I didn’t miss my fan I usually sleep with. Lastly and probably most importantly, the bed was more comfortable than most. Beautifully restored old building without losing its charm.My dad actually worked in this building when he worked for the paper which initially made me want to check it out and now we will be returning every time we are in town over night!Check them out!

This is our second time staying at Candlewood in Terra Haute. We've been traveling for the last week and our 6th, and last hotel was Candlewood. The service and accommodations are exceptional. While there is no pool or continental breakfast (which we typically look for when traveling with our toddlers), the rooms and staff definitely make up for it! They have a pantry with food and drink items, as well as a children's museum next door. We will choose them every time we're in town! The rooms are clean and well stocked. They have a "borrow" cabinet with kitchen appliances and movies and FREE LAUNDRY! Thank you for being amazing!

As an Operations Manager, I think I am more picky then most. That said, I could find nothing that was not done well. Decorated modern with clean lines. Impeccable housekeeping, this is a huge win for this location! 👏 Evening desk clerk was polite, well versed and made us feel welcome. Morning desk clerk needed her coffee and a smile, but we will let that slide as it was very early and everything else with our stay was 5 star! Great Job Guys. I highly recommend this location!!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The large rooms give an inviting feel right upon entering. Inside was all the appliances I would need and everything worked well. The A/C was the MVP always keeping the room comfortable and the wireless internet was consistently reliable. I would recommend an ethernet cable for reassurance or for higher throughput needs. I was able to complete a workout in the fitness center and though the dumbbells are limited, one can enjoy a good workout regardless of fitness level. Again, I really enjoyed my stay. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the facility really puts its guests first. Will definitely be coming back!
