In general, it's a good store, but I was looking for reloading supplies and they didn't have any powder and primers were only in packs of 100. I know other Academy stores have a better stock of these items, but the gentleman behind the counter said they haven't had any in ages.

Academy's website is terrible. You can never find the same thing twice. Put something in your cart, and go to your cart and click on it, and it takes you to a different item. Then you buy something, and can no longer find it on their site the very next day. Do the exact same search and it brings up different results.I bought a set of batting gloves online for my son for in store pickup. The size info on the site was non-existant. So I grabbed the bigger gloves thinking they coild just exchange them for the smaller ones if too big. His mother stopped to pick them up on their way back home to Evansville. The gloves were too big. They won't allow you to exchange the item for 45 minutes after you pick the item up. How ridiculously STUPID is that? So they had to just leave.This has been one of the stupidest shopping experiences I have ever experienced. I'll never be shopping here again. What a joke.

Went to Academy to find new tennis shoes for my teenage son and also found a lot of good sale items at 75% off! The shoe department staff was really helpful and pleasant. 😀

First visit to this store. I found deep discounts on Columbia and North Face but I went there for hunting camo. Walked out with more than I intended to buy only because of the discounts on quality items.

Great store. My first experience at the store was great. The staff was very friendly and promptly helped me my find the right bike and all the accessories I needed for my budget. I highly recommend this place for all you sports and outdoor needs.

My dad took my son to get a new kayak there at the beginning of the summer.Just went again today for shoes. They have a rather decent selection for athletic wear and shoes...Also they have what the outdoorsman could need and want. Love this store!

I primarily stopped by looking for salmon fishing gear at a store where there isn't salmon in the vicinity. While they didn't have what I wanted for salmon, their supply of bass fishing tackle was excellent.

I purchased a bench press from Academy Sports in Terre Haute today. I went home to assemble everything in the box and it was missing pieces so I called the store and asked what steps we should take and the only suggestion numb nuts on the phone had was “bring it back for a refund” and he also said “it will probably be hard to order you a new one” wth does that even mean? How can you not order me a new one? I explained how I live an hour away so I’m sure you can see how I’m not really eager to invest 4hrs of my life into this. Which you could argue that’s not their problem I live so far away. Although I could have went to my local Dick’s Sporting Goods but instead I drove the distance because I like(d) Academy. Anyways I was offered 0 compensation from a store selling me a junk item. Not impressed at all with how this was handled and I will be spending my money at another sporting goods store 👎🏻.Oh but the kid with the longer hair working in the Firearms department- super cool and helpful.

Update...no changes. Great store! Clean with friendly service, full shelves and great prices. One of my favorite places.Great location, plenty of parking a ND friendly staff. The store is well stocked and had everything I was looking for.

I've been here a couple of times when visiting my parents. I think that both times were on Black Friday. I bought a pistol and some ammo on the first trip and a couple of pairs of shoes on the second trip. They had a reasonably good selection of all of those things when I was there and the prices weren't bad. The store was packed on both occasions, so it is hard to comment on the service, except to say there weren't any issues.

I've been, now, to two Academy Sports stores, in Lafayette and Terre Haute, Indiana. If these are "typical" of Academy Sport's, I'm glad to have one in Lafayette! Quality merchandise, and a military discount! The different areas in the store , the variety of activities represented is wonderful! We needed a store like this!!

This place is awesome and so is the staff! I live three hours away and I bought an Old Country Brazos offset smoker. I wanted to make sure it wasn't damaged and there wouldn't be any issues considering the distance I was traveling to get it. I called the day before I was picking it up and talked to Rob. He said my order was ready and offered to text me pictures without me asking. I showed up and five or six workers helped lift it into my truck. I wanted to tip them, but the manager said they couldn't accept. I'm truly grateful for this place and for these amazing workers. Thanks and much respect to Rob and the rest of the crew! 💯 A+

Store is clean and has a good variety. Found an outdoor playground that we were interested in buying, but we didn’t have our trailer with us and couldn’t come back until Sunday ( was there on a Friday). They would not be able to hold item for more than 24 hours even if purchased.

Large store with a wide range of sporting goods. Went for charcoal. Large selection at very good price. Couldn't leave without picking up some .22 ammunition also at a good price.

I'm giving academy 2 stars only. The prices are way high compared to many other online sporting goods stores. If the prices would come down to compare to other stores alike 5 stars I would rate them due to them having a lot of items. One other issue is when buying firearms they do not give an option to have it sent to any local FFL dealer. You must go to them to make the purchase. Which puts me out from buying any firearms from them. (Edit) I am now giving academy sports 1 star instead of 2 due to me giving them a chance and placing an order only too wait an extremely long time to even get a tracking number on my order still today my items have not been shipped
