Our cats have gone to Gilmer since they were adopted 12 yrs ago. One of the cats was lethargic and sick yesterday; we called Gilmer but were told there were no appointments and they could not be seen. Told us to go to urgent care at another facility. So they’re great for shots and exams but when a pet is in distress, you best have an appointment. Ridiculous !!

I'm so glad to have Gilmore Park Animal Clinic near me. They are one of the few qualified places in the area that can take care of birds. They have two very good avian vets and their prices are reasonable.

My Chihuahua was abused and is non trustworthy of people and is aggressive with strangers. All my dogs have been rescued from abused homes and aggressive. But Dr. Elise has a way with Roscoe and LOVES his big round ears. I worked with her at another clinic...would NEVER take elsewhere.

I cannot describe how much I love this clinic. Recently had to call in my cat last minute and they fit him into their day and called me with updates. The drs and nurses were also very kind when it turned out he was actually very sick. When the time came to say goodbye the staff was incredible. They were very sympathetic and allowed us as much time to say goodbye as we needed. I will never forget them and will continue to take my pets there for the wonderful level of care and compassion we have received there.

Very kind staff an knowledgeable. I adopted a kitten there who was brought in. She is the coolest cat ever. And the way they handle both of my cats is appreciated because they are very different. Got several tips on what to do to make sure both are happy. I feel a bit more pricey then other clinics I've used but it isn't money thrown away. They are very well taken care of with the vets and assistants. Not to mention the service up front..its wonderful.

We had tried a couple of different local veterinarians, but we either got the feeling that they were always recommending only the most expensive test/treatment options, or weren’t invested enough to put in the time to consider/recommend/research alternative options.After we started taking our dogs to see Dr. Herget at Gilmer Park, we knew that we found the perfect vet for our fur babies. She truly cares about your pet’s well-being, while also being sensitive to how their humans might be feeling, and is sure to go over all available options, the pros and cons of each, and gives her recommendation without making you feel judged at all if you decide to move forward with another option. She goes above and beyond to explain things, and even suggests ways to save money if a particular medication or supplement is available over the counter at a store or human pharmacy instead. We’ll never take our pups anywhere else.

I love that the vet called and spoke to me personally of what was going on with my birds. The staff there was absolutely incredible. Not just in handling my pets but as I watch them come out and get the other pets you could tell that they truly love their job. And you know when somebody loves their job they're going to take care of the things you love the most, like your pets. Overall my experience was absolutely fantastic. Now if only they could take care of kids lol

I have been taking my pets to GPAC for over 17 years even before I had my cats. They were very knowledgeable and caring when I had my pet rabbits. I have 3 vet clinics in the town I live in but I always go to GPAC...The service and caring are worth the drive!

They are unable to handle a dog that is timid or has anxiety going to the vet!!! They sedated my dog when we agreed it was not in the best interest since she had to have IV fluids trying to pass a foreign object…plus they put a leather muzzle on her so it wasn’t necessary! I had to take her for emergency surgery because they don’t have the staff! It was when I arrived at the EVCC in Westville I noticed she was almost falling over and when she ended falling asleep she peed herself and didn’t even realize it! Never having a problem at either of the Emergency Veterinary Care Centers with being able to handle my dog! Time to find another that can…

I absolutely loved this vet! This was our first visit for my guinea pig and the staff were so helpful and friendly. They were so gentle with Barry, who absolutely hates to be picked up, and were quick to address any concerns or questions I had. I'll for sure be coming back here in the future.

Nothing but great things to say about this vet clinic. They were our vet choice through the majority of the lives of 2 of our dogs. Even though we've moved out of state, they've continued to provide as much intermediate care and assistance as they can for an ongoing issue for our dog while we wait establish our new vet up here in Alaska. We were sad to leave them and hope the next pet owners that are getting our spot have the same great experiences as we've had.

We love Gilmer Park! They always do what's best for our fur babies and give the best care I've ever seen. The doctors are at the top of their game and really see the pets for who they are, not just another client. They love them as much as we do! I cannot recommend them enough! I've taken all my animals (hedgehogs, cats, and soon my dog) and have never had anything less than amazing service.

Bird vets are hard to find in our area. Gilmer Park is one. They took great care with my Quaker Parrot. Gave her short spurts of rest to reduce her stress during her exam. Had her in periodically after the initial exam for beak trims. I also brought my Border Collie to them. The staff and Vets are very compassionate and caring with the pets and their owners. I would highly recommend Gilmer Park.

Love the Veterinarians here as well as all the staff. They have cared for our pets for years now. The -only- reason I gave them 4 stars rather than 5 is because each time we try to board our animals here, they are full! Other than that, they would definately get a 5 star rating for the care that they give our pets!

My family and I have been using Gilmer Park Animal Clinic for over 15 years. This Clinic is Simply Amazing. The staff will go above and beyond to meet your needs. If your dogs are afraid to come through the front entrance, they'll take them through the back. They do everything in their power to help keep your pets healthy. I can't praise them enough, each and every staff member from the doctors to the nurses. It's also extremely inexpensive for vet's office. They've helped us through the sad times and the happy times. Also they aren't just doctors and nurses, they're animal lovers. So they treat your pet as if it is their own. It's a wonderful place to go, and I trust them 100%!

I took my two ferrets here for their regular check up. One is a year old and the other is a few months, both from petco, both needing thorough new patient exams. Baby ferrets, especially from pet stores which both of ours are, need vaccinations and fecal exams on their first visit and full exams every year after. This vet did not seem to know that. We had mentioned multiple situations that should inclined them to look into them further. They didn’t clean their teeth, or their ears though they did mention the importance we do it. They also weren’t going to cut their nails until we had reminded them on our way out. We had previously taken one to the ER vet and needed follow up care with a primary doctor. So we set up an appointment here but they didn’t look into it after we brought it up. I can’t judge how they do with standard pets as they were incredibly kind the whole time I know ferrets are exotic animals that not every vet specializes in. However, they have exotic pet speciality listed so I was a bit surprised. We took them to a different vet after and they gave us care they had been needing from both other vets we’d seen before. Not to say they aren’t otherwise good, but I will no longer be taking my ferrets here.
