Although the store has gotten some negative reviews lately (and some of them are justified), I appreciate having a small grocery store in town to get cheese, frozen items, and other goods. The prices aren't as high as you would expect; I've price checked a number of food items to what I pay at Walmart, and they're nearly identical.Their hours are quite good, and the staff is very friendly. My one gripe is that the store could be cleaner.

The Sheridan, Indiana Dollar General Store is in disarray and has been prior to the start of COVID-19.Store shelves in the grocery area are poorly stocked. It's hard to walk in the store for all the inventory carts sitting everywhere waiting employees to restock the shelves.When you can find items you want to buy often the price that rings up at checkout is higher than what is posted on the shelves.

Somebody needs to get a hold of this place and close it for a week to clean and organize it. I don't know if they don't have enough employees or what ? My son says its nothing to come by and all but one employee is out back smoking. Rarely is there more than one cashier. Several times I have been in line with the manager behind the counter too busy to help so there is a long line. What they need is to have one or more people working overnight to straighten it out. There is candy up on the top shelf that could be filled in but nobody does it, then tells the customer we don't have it.What is the hourly rate there?

The shelves are never stocked. The roller racks make it hard for even a child to walk through let alone a handicapable person. 90% of the product is mispriced and they catch an attitude if you realize it and question it. Tbh this new store was a great upgrade to our little town an now it's more convenient to drive the 20 min in town just to get eggs and milk. Even reviews from over a year ago state the same thing which is even more ridiculous!

Very nice that they have freezer and refrigerator food, produce. Poorly stocked, tons of stock on carts in isles blocking products. Male cashier put rubbing alcohol in the same bag as food products. Love that they're open late.

On the plus size I was surprised by the grocery area. Very large and nice. Stir is bigger then must dollar generals. On the minus side the store is a mess. I suggest they spend a couple nights when they are closed getting this place cleaned up. No experience use for this.

Havent been here for several months as the store was a disaster zone. Stock is now, at least, on the shelves. Item, i always purchase for $5 was on sale for $3.95. No only did they not charge me the sale price but $5.75!! Geez. Not a drop of milk in the store either. Wont go in there in Sheridan again.

Usually shabby. Aisles usually obstructed with carts of products waiting to be stocked, although they are almost always very poorly stocked... go figure. Dirty. Lax on mask and distancing rules. Last resort store if I need something. Too bad, could be a decent place if it was run properly. On a good note - most of the checkers are very pleasant and competent.

Most things are out of stock and almost always has a ridiculously long line with only one cashier working. I saw 4 people drop their items and walk out in the 20 minutes I spent in line before walking out myself, that's a lot of money walking out the door while they think they're saving a dollar by understaffing.

The go to grocery store in Elwood. Getting out of Town, and visiting other cities, and states you realize after talking with different people from other Cities/States that Dollar general having "Dollar Market" store is kind of Rare. Or atleast from my personal opinion & talking with other people. Even with NEEDLERS here in the old Marsh store, I still prefer Dollar Market. You can get pretty much 90/95% of everything you'll need for a family household.

I just don't understand stand why this store always has all these carts in the iles and hardy anything on the shelves??? I have been is other Dollar General store and they are all stocked up. Never can find half of what I'm looking for. It is very sad when this is all Sheridan has to shop for anything. It is very annoying to have to fight the carts in the aisles all the time and then not find what you need.

Worst dollar general. They do not keep in stock the most basic necessities. Most of their shelves are half empty and the place is disgusting. There is filth and clutter everywhere. The staff has no idea what they have, where it’s at or if they even carry it. Most of the time they won’t even show you where it is supposed to be.

My son wanted gummys and it was $2 and he didn't know it was $2 and he paid 1 and he asked but it was $2 so my son said ok I cant pay and he said sorry and the man groaned at him and he offered to put it back and the man said yes pls so thats why it's one star review!

New store that was opened is very nice clean and has a much larger selection. Convenient too for small grocery items, since we no longer have a grocery store in town.

Great customer service from the friendly employees here. Sheridan’s “mini Walmart”. And although I wish they sold organic produce, I’m grateful that they sell any.

There are always racks of merchandise up and down many, many aisles, so much that you can't see what is on the shelf behind them! The old store in Sheridan, IN had the same exact problem. So everyone was hoping that the new store would eliminate that problem. But it certainly did not!

Best dollar General i have ever visited and i loved the fresh fruit and vegetables section, the women were all busy working and willing to help because i looked so lost, nope just amazed at what u get away from home

Love the variety of the items but they have boxes stacked up throughout the whole place and you can't even get to half of the items.

I needed a nice top for an outing and found one! I've found everything I've needed and it's a lot cheaper than if I would have gone anywhere else! This place is awesome!

Out of everything every aisle had boxes and carts full of merchandise trash all over the floor. Bathrooms were dirty. Not my favorite experience

All Dollar Generals are nice, but the DG Market in Elwood is pretty much a small Walmart.

This place is always dirty and you can barely get through the disorganized isles. Management needs to come out of the office and fix it. Be an example for your employees and take a little pride in your store.
