When Gilman came to town, I was excited hoping for a more local place that hopefully would not be as overpriced as the existing lumber/hardware store in town. Boy was I WRONG!! $11.00 for a tube of silicone!!!!! I should’ve continued a half mile down the road to the farm store and purchased the EXACT same product for 2 bucks less…..I know it’s only two bucks, but that is one example for one product. Fool me once, shame on you….I WILL NOT be fooled again.

They are clean, tighty, and helpful, friendly staff. Has a good selection of what I need. They have become a great addition as a hardware, various tool rental, and lumber store to our town. It has kept me from having to make an extra trip to the big box. Lowes, Home Depot, and Menards.

First time there today. Workers were lazy rude uneducated. A nice guy Jimmy at the lumber desk was trying to assist me but other employees were IMO making fun of him or not listening to anything he says. So no I will not go back there. I don’t go to builders lumber in town because I feel overpriced but the people are at least a lot nicer. I will stick to going out of town for my needs.

Not impressed with prices or employees. As for me I'll keep shopping for my needs at Builders Lumber, they are very helpful, polite & service with a smile. But hey, they are a local owned business that knows how to treat/service their customers!

Just what Shelbyville needed since ACE and Carter are both gone. Super nice people, good selection. Pricing is okay but considering the cost of gas to get to a larger hardware store the trade of is worth it.

Would give zero stars, if possible. Unfortunate, as its close to home. Staff uneducated, and extremely rude. While shopping roofing materials this evening, staff at rental desk continually threw around f bombs. When challenged that this was extremely unprofessional (with kids likely in earshot), and asked to speak with manager, they all looked at me like I was from another planet, and were quick to dismiss my concerns. This combined with no staff expertise in anything, and being way overpriced, will ensure that I don’t go back. For excellent customer service, Builder’s definitely a better bet.

The new store is beautiful and extremely clean and nicely laid out. Very large lumber yard. The 2 associates that helped us were extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

New hardware/ home improvement center in Shelbyville. Seems they have most items available for purchase that you typically find at hardware stores. Prices a touch hi, however don't have to leave the local area to purchase from the bigger home improvement stores located in the larger metropolitan areas.

Has power chair available but it was to big for turns from aisle to aisle OR they are cramming to much in such a small space...service/ assistance was great
