Director was Rude and Not helpful. She suggested I look elsewhere. The Humane Society Building stunk so bad of cat feces, it made my eyes water. I have adopted shelter dogs all my life and highly recommend shelter pets, just not from this one.

We adopted our sweet boy Moose in January from Jackson County Humane Society. The process was smooth and easy and we would adopt again from Jackson County! Where some animal shelters are hard to get ahold of, Jackson County always responded quickly and timely. We are so lucky to have Moose in our lives.

We just adopted our new kitten. The process has been so smooth and they have been so kind to us! I would adopt from them anytime in the future!!!

Found our adorable, sweet puppy here. The process was super easy and we had our new baby in a few days. (we slept on the idea until we were sure). Julie was super sweet and you can see how much she loves the babies and makes sure they're going to a proper home. Highly recommend!

Awful and stressful experience trying to adopt a kitten from this place. If you’re going to adopt an animal, make sure you know every single right answer for your application, because if you put “unsure” on any question, you’ll probably get denied. Even if we had been approved, we were considering not adopting at this facility merely based on the stress of trying to get ahold of someone. The lady seemed very nice when I talked to her, but she WILL NOT work with you if you are a new adoptive parent. Just keep that in mind before adopting at this place.

The lady was super nice. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. Clean shelter. She cares about all of her animals. Please, donate to her shelter, if you can. I would adopt a dog or cat from her again!🐈🐕

I have sent an email expressing my interest in adopting a dog, i have called countless times & went down there, good luck getting someone.When you do get someone they are not very helpful when you have looked for week's on end .I figured i would try in my hometown but they where unwilling to help someone to give a dog a home.

Zero stars. This woman is unprofessional. Instead of telling you that you cannot have a dog you want, she will lie and say the dog has to go back where it came from or some other excuse. Anyone can see the website and see the lies.

Don't waste your time here, they will discriminate! I spent a week trying to adopt a dog only to be turned away. I highly recommend new albany floyd county animal shelter!!

Any time i ever try to go even look at their animals they are never there and and when i did finally get to see the dogs they had for adoption their facilities are horrific for those of you in jackson county who have not been to the jackson county humane society its is under staffed and the building itself is tiny and is not at all well kept jackson county should be ashamed of their humane society......

All the negative reviews for this place are accurate. I have also experienced the stress, lies and discrimination. Don't even bother dealing with the woman that runs this place.
