I took my dog there in 2022 and the first time it as okay the second time she gouged him in the side and never even told me she did it. My dog let out a god awful howl when my husband took him outside. Never been back I go to the Dog Spaw in Sellersburg Katie is amazing with my guy.

Since it was taken down the first time: I write this after having 2 days to calm down and collect myself. My dog, Graham, is a rescue. He is just now comfortable enough to begin enjoying his life. He is 11. I take him everywhere with me, because of his separation anxiety. Two days prior to his appointment, I gave Graham a bath, as most people do before taking their dog to the groomer for a professional cut. I bought a new detangler, and it worked beautifully on his curls, except one knot under his chin he was uncomfortable with (Graham’s new love for life comes with a fixation on rolling in the grass and dirt). It was not knotted to the skin, I could fit my fingers between his chin and this knot, meaning at least a half inch of hair between his skin and this tangle. I brushed the rest of him out, but he only gave me a small opportunity to brush around his abdomen before he got uncomfortable. He was back to his full beautiful curly self, and two days later we were off to the groomer. Upon arrival, I said I wanted him cut with a normal bichon cut, and a rounded face. I notified the woman who was processing us of the knot under his chin, as well of the fact that he is a rescue, so he can be finicky. I told her she can just cut the knot out if he’s not comfortable with her messing with him. At this point, all was said and done, and I was off to work. You can imagine my surprise when I get a call from my mom (she picked him up since I had to work) saying my dog was SHAVED and the woman told her I SAID IT WAS OKAY TO SHAVE HIM. We never even got a phone call before this woman took it upon herself to shave my dog. My only thought on the matter was that maybe he had a mat on his stomach/underside that was close to the skin that he didn’t let me touch. Maybe she had to shave him close on his underside? Even so, though, a PROFESSIONAL groomer would have either (1) Shaved the part of Graham that was matted and faded it into the haircut OR (2) Called us to inform us she did not believe she could complete the agreed upon cut, and ask if we were okay with him being shaved. I have raised dogs since I was in diapers. Had I known that this woman was going to shave my dog, I would have taken him home and put the time into cutting his hair myself (which I will be doing from now on, believe me). I will not be returning or recommending this service to anyone, this was unnecessary and uncalled for. I now have to dress him in a sweater when we go out, because it has been rainy and his hair is thinning with his age, so if he is not dressed he shakes from the cold the entire time. Designer Dogs, Thank you for wasting my time and money. I hope they have the decency to call the next person before they shave their dog.Side note: Also, Graham came home and had to be taken to the vet to treat an ear infection. I am not accusing them of being responsible, but I had not seen any signs to be concerned about his ears before this trip to the groomer.Pic 1: Graham before his haircut. Pic 2: the cut we agreed on. Called to make an appointment. Was told "you no-showed me once so we're not taking you as a client anymore". IF I missed an appointment, it was simply an over sight. I would not have done it deliberately. Maybe, it was due to the MANY times you called and rescheduled us the week of my appointment (even though it was booked months in advance). It's OK Designer Dogs, I'm happy to spend my money elsewhere.

Wow! I was in a pinch. My dog's nails got too long because I've been slacking on making an appointment anywhere. We're kind of new to the area. I came home early from work today (which never happens). I noticed my dog wasn't wanting to put her full weight on her foot. Upon further investigation, it appeared it had to do with her claws being too long. They weren't growing into her pad but they were obviously causing her discomfort. I called our vet. They couldn't get her in for a nail appointment for 1 week. I called our old vet. They could do an emergency appointment with the vet the following day.....aka big money....and I would need to take the day off of work. In a total panic, I called this place. They got us in immediately. The lady did a quick and thorough job of trimming my dog's nails. She was super nice, talkative and personal the entire time. Which calmed me a ton because I was really worried about my dog. My dog is almost 14 years old. Her entire life she has been great for other people trimming her nails but uncooperative when I trim them. This place just won my dog grooming business for the rest of my dog's life. I am so impressed with how friendly she was and the fact that they were able to squeeze me in even though I was in somewhat of a panic state when I called them. Everything was 5 star quality service from the phone call until the end of the transaction. I highly recommend this place.

The girls here are great! They know my dog when I bring him in and he knows them and the routine. We have a large shepherd and not all groomers know how to handle them. That's never been an issue here. Pricing is reasonable and fair. Will continue to take my boy there for as long as they'll have us!

I have been taking my dog here for awhile now, I believe Chelsea is the girls name who last groomed my little guy. She was very attentive on the phone when I was asking questions, and was very careful in taking him from me because he gets very anxious. He always comes back happy and beautifully groomed!

I'm picky about my dog groomers and that's why I LOVE Designer Dogs. Leigh and staff did an absolutely wonderful job on a very latchkey lapdog who's typically good around NO strangers. they made her look fantastic, trimmed her nails wonderfully, got all the hairs out of her ears. Even the bottom of her little paws look great. Thank you!

Very disappointed with the lack of space and the fact that they CONSTANTLY tell you that they have no room or no place to take your pet to use the bathroom! I’ve been taking my dog Bear there because of the convenience of the location. Sometimes his grooming was good sometimes not so good. Two times they shaved his private areas so close my dog came home crying. But after talking to Chelsea she assured me that it wouldn’t happen again. Their lack of empathy for their clients and their pets is horrible. So will NOT be returning again EVER!

Very unhappy with the grooming of my dog received yesterday. Megan and Lee both sounded like they knew what they were doing....we paid $50.00 my husband even gave a nice tip, for a terrible chop job done on our pet. When he brought her home I was shocked. So sorry the previous owner had to leave...we WILL NOT be returning to Designer Dogs.

I took my fury baby peairr he's a poodle mix to get groomed Heather was the groomer i believe..She was very friendly and very attentive to my exact details on how i wanted peairr cut..She did a great job peairr was happy and so was I.!! The pricing is very reasonable and we will be returning in six weeks! I recommend Designer Dogs to anyone who wants quality grooming for a reasonable price! Tks☺

What a patient groomer! Leigh did a fantastic job on an extremely hyper Westie puppy! It was my dogs firstHaircut and it turned out so great. The puppy even had a good time! I will alwYs use this groomer!

I have never written a google review before but this place is beyond unreliable. Not only did they cancel on me last weekend (which was fine) last minute. They reached out to me and rescheduled this weekend, I showers up and no one was there, no one will pick up the phone or call back to tell us what is going on. Totally unreliable- do not recommend at all.

I've been calling all week to try to schedule an appt and have left messages but no one has returned my calls. I understand with COVID hours may be different or they may even be closed, but I would think their answering service would indicate such. If I ever hear from someone and actually get an appt, I will then base my review on the entire experience. Until then, I would give zero stars if I could.

Ms. Benele was found negligent in a court of law for the care she provided at her home to her pet.
