Very sweet people. I had a stray momma cat and her four babies I took in due to the cold weather but couldn’t keep them as I have two pets of my own with a baby on the way and I was fostering them until they got opening for them and they just got picked up today. It was a very bittersweet moment but I am very glad they’ll be given the chance at a new life with a bunch of love and care

The people who work here are so kind. I found a litter of young puppies that had been abandoned recently and they took such good care of them: getting all of the siblings into a rescue immediately, so they would not have to be in the shelter. The puppies had been through so much before we were able to catch them, and they really needed the TLC that they received there.

Open 3 hours only on weekdays and closed on weekends, the only hours they’re open for are the hours that most of us work ourselves. If they want to get rid of dogs and find homes then maybe give them more of a chance to be seen. Open from 12:30-3:30 is ridiculous and lazy

Animal control is always awesome and understanding helping people get the word out about their lost and found fur babies. Don't think we would have found our cat without them! Thankful for such a responsive and caring facility

Haven't been here but I appreciate all they do to take care of the animals and find homes for them.

I was very happy with the treatment of the kittens I had to surrender this summer. I was very grateful for all their help.

We took a dog there because she was eating our chickens and we didn’t know she was pregnant and they decided that they were going to kill the puppies in the womb

Very great place. They take extremely good care of all animals they are responsible for. And they are very responsive to any calls they get about stray animals and bites. My father is the chief animal control officer and I can tell you he is always out and about on calls, so if you are feeling impatient, just try to remember that he is a very busy man and he is doing his best.

I think they were awesome. They came to my house picked up my Labs. Took them to the hardinsburg clinic and had them both fixed and brought them back to me cause I had no way to get them there. They were very professional and polite.

Went several times over the course of a week to attempt to adopt a puppy. After finally being able to fill out the application, one of the staff took a VERY snobby attitude. This being my first pup adoption, I had not seen a vet for said dog yet. Was informed that due to my unfixed cat that is kept separate from the other animals somehow being able to reproduce with a dog, and not having a vet recommendation beforehand that I'd likely just be denied outright. They were talking about euthanasia for the other dogs present and how much they need to get these dogs out.On a side note, the room that held the adoptables was recently cleaned with a HEAVY amount of bleach.

The care and cleanliness has gotten better over the last 9 months or so, but it is a small shelter that needs food and litter donations as well as volunteers. They do the best they can with what they have and are trying to expand to better care for the animals but monetary donations are needed. Nice people.

Had a great time walking the dogs as a volunteer. All the dogs are very loving and definitely have their own personality. You can tell this by spending time with them. They definitely need more volunteers walking the dogs and help cleaning the kennels. Larry the manager is very friendly and welcoming. The reason I rated them a 3 is that their facility is old and needs a makeover. Contributions are definitely welcome and very much in need. I am definitely going to try to make a commitment to volunteer more often between work. Christy and Cathern

They killed a friend's dog who was microchipped through AKC without scanning him. When she called and asked about him after she had been told by a friend he was there they said he had been dropped off and almost immediately killed without being scanned. They even told her it took 3 people to hold him down.. What a lovely thing to say to someone whose pure-bread dog you just murdered.

This shelter failed to scan for a microchip on a lost 3 year old German Shepherd. They killed him after only 2 days. It’s called Karma. Your Director sent her a message that they were moving on.....did nothing wrong. There’s no excuse. You’re all over Facebook for your cruelty.

Terrible service. Told me that I could just ask if I needed any help, then when I did ask, the manager got snobby and shady. He told me he'd be right out to help me look at a dog... Then I watched him proceed to sit down and have a 45 minute conversation with another co-worker laughing and having a good time while we stood there waiting. Then he sent the coworker to help us instead of doing it himself

I found the staff very polite the animals well cared for... Unfortunately this is a kill shelter & a small place in need of dog food & clumping litter... Also desperately in need of foster to save the animals lots of small dogs & puppies....

How can you even consider your organization a responsible advocate for animals if you can’t even scan a lost pet for a chip and destroy it within 2 days I will share every negative post I can find regarding your unresponsible actions
