Very helpful, and most of the associates are very friendly and professional. SOooo much better than the big box stores! They actually know what you need here, even when you might not! I speak from experience, lol!Very good pricing also! This store has been one of our favorite parts of moving to Salem, IN!! 😉😊

Super friendly staff and very helpful too. I believe the gentleman's name in the plumbing department who helped me is Jeff. I called and he went and looked for the parts I needed before I drove there. Once I arrived he helped me find all of the parts I would need. Because of him, I will definitely return and highly recommend this store over the big box stores like Home Depot and Lowe's. Also the cashier, and she was super friendly and caring.

The only place in town to have keys made!! They are always friendly and go above and beyond to help. They also cut glass!

Used to have quite the selection of whatever hardware supplies or service you need and while they still may have the supplies their service has gone down the drain. My father and I went in looking t I get both of us a pair of work boots and after asking for assistance we waited and waited and Noone came to help us so we left and bought our boots at tractor supply for half the price of what they were charging at Ace. They need to get it together over there and act like they want to run a business instead of a social club the workers we seen to ask for help were just standing in a huddle chit chatting with one another never said a thing even as we passed by them on our way out the door. Oh well.

I needed help bringing the chainsaws in for servicing because of my lift restriction from a surgery and a young man in there jumped right up and helped me and didn't make me feel like it was putting him out. He was so polite and helpful. This was Friday Feb 17, 2023. I dont remember his name but it was in the service dept area. Amazing employee!

Order 40 tools I needed was told multiple times would be delivered to store on a certain date I paid in advance so needed them on exact date I had to call the store to find out none of my stuff came in and was gonna be in 4 days later it cost me time and a lot of money really thought I could depend on a small local business but guess it’s all Amazon from here out they offered no resolution highly disappointed

Huge selection of tools, parts, hardware, and equipment. However, I wasn't impressed with the customer service. I was looking for a pool pump and filter, which I located online. I went back to the plumbing area and asked the gentlemen, which were deep in a discussion about the recent Johnny Depp-Amber Heard trial, about the pool pump and filter. They looked at me like I was silly for interrupting their conversation and stated that they didn't sell that kind of stuff. I tried to tell them that the website showed that it was in stock. Of course, they didn't even entertain that idea. I said my thanks and decided to look for myself. I finally found the exact pump and filter I had tried to show the gentlemen. I did end up buying it, but I recommend the folks in the plumbing area work on their customer service skills.

Update 4/2023......came in for Duco cement. Only place I've been able to find it around here!! The lines are ridiculous sometimes. Only one check out, customers talking and talking to the checkout person. Very rude when the transaction is long over. People have things to do and some of us can't stand for 20 minutes while you talk about everything under the sun. Also, why are dogs that aren't service dogs allowed in the store? Some people are allergic to them or traumatized by them. I may not be back due to these issues.

This is my favorite store i salem...the employees that get my mixed fuel are top notch professionals who always have the right answers to any questions i have. I bought my STIHL weedeater from here and was impressed by the knowledge of the brand and the particular tri.mer i was buying making my decision to buy so much easier.

One of the top Ace Hardware stores in the region! Quality products, superb customer service, and friendly staff. I purchase for my business and home on a regular basis. There is the option to order from the website...pickup at store if that suits. Also they will order at the store for you and will notify you when your item arrives.

Overall a pretty good store and about the only place around to get decent hardware and materials. The older lady at the front checkout though they need to send her to charm school so she doesn't act like a dumpy old person with no smile and looks like she's always ticked off at the world.

Prices are a little higher than at a big box store, but buying locally in Salem saves you time and gas that would be spent going to Louisville -- plus there are lots of staff actively looking to help shoppers. Nice place, nice folks.

Very big store with lots to choose from but not a single employee asked if I needed help as I wandered through the store for a good 10-15 minutes while waiting on my husband. They just stood around talking.

I went to this store at 7:30am (opening time) to rent a tool. We asked about renting it right away. They got it out as we walked around and looked at the different things available in the store. The store associates were friendly and helpful while we were there. We rang out with the rental at around 8:30am. We were told that we would get our deposit back and some of the rental money if it was back in 4 hours or just the deposit at 24 hours. We had it back by 11:30ish. They tried to tell my daughter (who returned it for me) that we would only receive the deposit because we had it for 5 minutes more than 4 hours. I called the rental department manager and let him know the situation that we technically only had it for 3 hours 8:30ish to 11:30ish and he apologized with an excuse about a glitch in the computer and agreed that he owed us some money for the early return. I thanked him for his help and he hung up on me. I WILL NOT rent another tool from this store because of bad customer service in the tool rental department.
