This animal shelter was so clean and nice!! The adoption process was so easy and everyone there was so helpful and kind. The animals were all very healthy and you could tell they are well taken care of. I adopted a kitten from here today and I couldn’t be happier! This shelter is so great and so are the people—I would recommend it to anyone. (attached is a pic of my new little friend) :)

They was unable to help me with my situation. I am sure it's a nice place . Never been on the property. I have it pictured in my mind a cold dark lonely place. Not that way at all. What I have been told.

This is easily the best shelter or humane society within 50 miles—and it's not even close.The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and very down-to-earth. The facility is gorgeous, clean, and kept both dogs & cats well fed & cared for.This is the first facility we've been to in which everything was in order. We adopted a sweetheart, and a young man provided us with a surprise gift bag as a "welcome gift".We encourage you to choose Rushville if you're looking for a new pet!

Always have had a great experience with rushville unlike other shelters. Friendly staff and that are very clearly looking out for the best interest of each animal. We have adopted 3 fur babies from them and they have all blended with our family so well. We appreciate all the work you ladies put in caring for them all while they were with you. ❤️

Rushville Animal Shelter is an amazing place. Although it was almost two hours away, it was well worth the drive. The staff were super accommodating and genuinely cared about the animals.

Individuals here are wonderful! They are more than happy to great you at the door and to help you with any questions or concerns that you might have unlike other Animal Shelters in the area that even if they have 5 workers sitting at the front desk playing on their phones won't hardly even give you the time of day. Love the Rushville Location. Oh and it seemed to be well taken care of also.

The new Rushville Animal Shelter is a big improvement over the old one. The shelter is so bright and welcoming and clean. The employees are knowledgeable and very helpful. The cost for the animal you choose includes all shots, spaying or neutering. Your animal will also be micro chipped. Prices are very reasonable. My husband and I picked out the most precious little kitten, love at first sight 💕 Recommend highly

This is absolutely the worst shelter you could possibly work with. We went in to see a dog days before he was posted online. The staff there said to keep checking everyday for him since we couldn't adopt him before being processed. After checking everyday and driving a hour and a half to see him, they posted him a hour before the shelter even opened and someone just "happened" to call that exact moment. The staff there are holding dogs for friends and family and it isn't fair to the rest of the community. The dog we were trying to adopt was a friends dog who had to take it to the shelter and no amount of pleading with them would make them let us take him. They are nasty and rude at every chance and have no business caring for animals. If they are as rude as they are to people, I can only imagine how they treat animals.

The girls was amazing and very helpful. Also very willing to help us with any questions or concerns that my husband and I had, The facility was very clean as well as the kennels. And there was also information sheets in the front for people about vet care, snip clinic, etc. there wasn't a lot of animals to choose from, however I felt that was because they where doing there job. 🤗😉...Thanks to a wonderful facility.

We brought donations of dog and cat food, and the shelter manager wasn't that appreciative or pleasant to deal with. We donated several times over the past 3 years, but we will be more selective for donating in the future.

Got my baby shaggs here (cyrus) he's so loving. So playful. And they gave me a little care pack for him:) but we gave him back to get neutered and he came back and his neuter was awful. It was rugged black and blue. But its healed over now and all is good. Ig

We adopted a little cat and he has surgery on Thursday to sterilize and first injections . Great service from all of staff , very clean, friendly staff and modern shelter.

I would of given them 5 stars but I recently realized that they completely lied about the dog we adopted. They tried to say she had no manners, was dog "agressive", didn't know any kind of commands at all. After having her for one day she already knew basic commands.

weird hours. What kind of shelter isn't open on weekends and holidays? stoppedby an hour and a half before closing, nobody there. Did some serious cat-bonding through the windows. called the number. No answer. left three messages-5 days later, still no return call.

Trying to report an injured animal on the side of the road and they will not pick up their phones. Rushville police could not get ahold of them either after multiple calls from other people. Definitely do not seem too concerned about the animals.

They stink !!!! Not picking up a Stray Dog just because it’s the Week End is really not good !!!! The Shelter would most likely kill the Dog anyway , I saved them from having a chance to do that !!!! A better system needs to be implemented !!!

Just horrible. The people that worked there would not let us get to know the dogs to see if there was a connection and they were rude to us like we were inconveniencing them by trying to adopt. Yeah what animal shelters are for.
