They also sent us home with everything we needed for him, and all the information and resources we could use. Found my new fur baby here. I love that they’re a no kill shelter. Animal shelters actually make me kind of sad because I want to adopt all the animals but I’m glad this shelter is here because you can tell they really care about the animals. Will be returning to help out however I can.

Shelter is staffed with rude people who seemingly enjoy talking down to those that call or go in looking for help.Staff doesn't seem to be aware of the actual ordinances pertaining to animals here and tell people if they pick an animal up to try to have it scanned for a chip that it's theirs now, and their responsibility.And let's not forget the time they euthanized dogs then lied to the community about it.Plenty of other shelters and rescues in this town that will treat the members of the community respectfully.

Richmonds Help the Animals Rescue shelter is something else. I get my cat fixed so he can go inside and out, we leave for trick or treat 10/31 &&him being one cat of probably a dozen or more in the same area gets "picked up" and then they give me hassle to get him back when I have proof of ownership. Then after holding him hostage in their office making me go grab my cat carrier didn't even ask for my ID they charged me $40.00 to "reclaim" him.Someone in their staff was pinning to take him home. And I could tell by the exchange and attitudes while I was there that was the caseSo in my BOOKThey aren't about rescue they're on another level of SOMETHING ELSE 🤢

Get place. You can tell they care about there animals. The place is clean and dose not smell of pee or poop. My dad and i got a puppy to add to the family. She is a wonderful addition to the family.

Very nice place and the employees were great.I was grieving the loss of my 12 yr old pitbull yesterday. From tumors and going through a tough divorce. What better way to heal a heartbreak. Adopt a new fur friend.Meet Shady 3yrs old.

I went in to put a application to adopt a dog Thursday last week and the people there are really rude and come off as judgmental. The only person there that wasn’t rude was a man taking one of the dogs out for a walk. The application process wasn’t very smooth, as they didn’t offer help at all and gave very short answers with the questions we did ask. The women “helping” was really rude and had a tone when asking if we rented or owned. Which the application process is still new to me, and it would’ve been nice if the experience was better. If you’re a first time adopter it can be confusing and these people were not helpful. I called earlier today to check up on the application status as I really wanted this dog I was then told that it was nullified because the deed of the house was not in my name but my step-fathers. There was no way to put on the application that the house is owned by a parent. If they would’ve been more helpful and kind, Tucker would’ve had a home. They weren’t going to let me know about this update to my application either. Overall, not an enjoyable experience and really frustrating. I would recommend not going here and instead go to the shelter on Chester as I recently adopted a cat from there and the staff were way nicer and the overall process for adopting was smooth. Plus they actually answer your questions with detail.

Needed desperate help and was told I wasn't in there jurisdiction, after being told they would help me. I have a huge cat problem where I live and need desperate help so I can move from my very unsafe house. I don't want to abandon the cats my neighbors have laid on me. I was told they were gonna help me and it had been about a week. I asked them what was going on and they told me suddenly they weren't gonna help me. They have helped me many times in the past but now won't. I still desperately need the help and no one will, so me and these cats get to live in a house that should be condemned thanks to this supposed " rescue. "

Wonderful staff And all animals were obviously were well taken care of. Also, very affordable especially given our kitten was already spayed (& we were sent home with her antibiotics so she wouldn't get any infections ) micro chipped & had her vaccines! She was also sent home with her special blanket that is her favorite 🤗 her own kitty carrier & healthy food to give her all the nutrients she needs to grow! I would without a doubt recommend anyone to adopt an animal from this shelter❤

We adopted a sweet dog, they called Joe in January 2016. He was our buddy, beautiful blue eyes. He crossed over to the other side yesterday and I’m so deeply grateful the shelter let us adopt him. He had a wonderful life being loved and spoiled.

Not the shelter it used to be! I absolutely loved HELP, I have adopted, donated and have referred many people there. Never again! The rudeness we experienced was unwarranted and uncalled for. I've no doubt that its the same woman all of the low star reviews from the last year are talking about. She's horrible and not doing you any favors.

My mom worked there for two years or so. Lovely people who love the animals like their own children. I would definitely recommend coming here. They have so many animals that it would be hard to find one that isn't the right fit.

I adopted Gene a couple of months ago, now Onyx, and he is the sweetest and most loving kitten. He’s very social and enjoys the company of people and other animals too.The staff was very nice and helpful with the adoption process and I can tell that they really care for their animals! I highly recommend adopting from this shelter!

They take such good care of their kitties! They have beds, hammocks, things for them to climb, and space. Just bring a cup of coffee and you can go pet the cats and relax and enjoy each other! They have 83 cats there, my little cousin counted..ha!) They all would love to go home and be your forever friend, so get the word out, as there are a lot to choose from! We also had meet and greet with our dog. We went outside and we went into the good- sized area for the dogs to get to know each other. This was not a good idea, however, because we were not able to get to know the dog. The dogs were running around, so we never had interaction with her at all. It could have been because of the time constraint because we got there close to closing time. That would be the only downfall that I see at this shelter. Everyone was very friendly! They are in need of clay cat litter, towels and cleaning supplies (you can call to get the specifics on what they need). Everything helps to save these animals!

Amazing place. My cat Ravinia found me. She is a very happy kitty. She is very energetic and playful. The best thing about her is that she purrs before I pet her. Thank you for letting me adopt Ravinia.

I went to get dog food here today (6/9/2022) and the second my husband and I walked in the door, these ladies were so judgemental. I just wanted help to get my animals some food and they rejected me with a quickness. They didn't care to listen to a word I had to say. Worse place to go and get any help for your furbabies. Highly do NOT recommend!!!

Awesome staff!!!Got there at 4:59 pm after driving 10 hrs and they stayed late to let us meet Alaska and adopt her after doing the paperwork when they could have asked us to come back tomorrow.That was greatly appreciated and we continued on our trip home the same night with Alaska.She has been a wonderful addition to our family and settled right in.

I went in today to get help with cat food cuz it's the end of the month and bills and the gas prices and food prices you know money is tight. this lady in here has this attitude and condesending and judgmental and then decided that she didn't have any cat food there to give us to help out with my cats. my cats are well taking care of. like my kids they're like super spoiled. i didnt appreciate it one bit.

They are very judgemental me an my fience was looking to adopt a dog an they said over the phone just fill out the application an we will get u the dog we filled it out an we were so excited to get Kelly but the they judge us over our background keep in mind we live 1 hour an 30 min away an is a misdemeanor for battery just because something happened 2 years ago to another person does not mean we are mean to dogs I have 2 dogs of my own so I 100%do not recommend going up there

Worse service ever in all my times of coming there to see animals and the people need in the cages for belittling the people asking for help with dog food, lady stated to a guy, if you are buying a bowl, $0.25, you don't need a donation for animal food, so the guy, put his head down, put the bowl or bowls back on the shelf, and took the half bag of donated food for his animals and left.. I hope ppl understand that, the food is donated and the bowls are used bowls for a quarter! Guy probably doesn't have a bowl to feed and water... doesn't hold very well on the ground.. smh.. I would say he'll never step foot in this place due to one lady, and that guy would be me! You embarrassing me only to forget, your suppose to be the public figure and now whose embarrased..

Would give no stars if possible. Delt with very rude people that apparently have lost touch with humanity being around the dogs and cats so much. (All but one lady) I will give credit where credit is due, they seem to take good care of the animals. I have 7 years experience working with and grooming dogs. Have a great family with two little boys, and a nice house, we went in and met the perfect puppy he was great with my kids. I was asked to fill out the application. Then I hung around for an hour as they did whatever they did. (Not aloud to take the puppy out and play) I was then told they had a lot of applications and they would call me the next day. I called them at 430 to touch base and tell them how hopeful I was to bring him home. They said it would take some time to go through the applications and would know better tom. I called them at 1230 the next day half hour after they opened and Jane informed me they gave him to another family. That my application was denied due to it saying the dog was going to be outside part of the day (10x10x6 kennel for 5 hours). The other family came in before they opened and they let them adopt the puppy. If I would have been informed of this issue with the application I would have had no problem with the puppy staying inside, instead of communicating their concerns they preferred to just jerk me around.

We adopted 2 fantastic dogs from here. Wonderful experience. They even held our 2 dog till we got paid 3 days later. The shelter was as clean as you would expect a nice shelter to be. The people were very welcoming, understanding and showed great love to our dogs and us. We had just lost our furbaby (my little foever love) to sudden severe kidney failure. The Chihuahua was very standoffish with us at the shelter. But I saw the love Britta had for the shelter workers and I knew she would be a great family dog. That actually really impressed me. It showed you guys do more than feed the animals, you love on them. I would adopt from there again. We actually are debating right now to add a 3rd dog and if we do Help the animals is our choice to go get a dog. Whether you adopt from here or not, please donate!
