We have been going to Animal Care Center since Dr, Burton was there. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Jan and her staff. They have always been professional and kind with all my animals through the years. Dr. Jan is so compassionate and cares so much about her patients. Thank you, Dr Jan and staff! Terry & Sheryl Davis

Dr. Yerk has been my animals vet for the last 15 years. Affordable and knowledgeable. Anytime I've had questions about an appointment has always answered them. When my 13 yr old lab/Shepard mix passed away, Dr. Yerk sent a heart felt card. I've never had a vet send or give a card at the passing of an animal before.

BEWARE! We took our beautiful sweet girl to be spayed and boarded by Dr. Jan Yerk while we were on vacation. We received a call a couple of days into our vacation with devastating news that our girl had chewed through her stitches and passed away. We were told by Dr. Yerk that our girl was not in a cone and not given anxiety medication because she seemed okay and had ate some food. We were told that they didn't have security cameras to watch boarders. My heart will forever be broken over this as I have to live with my decision of leaving my girl in what I thought was good hands, the very best thing for her. To quote Dr. Jan Yerk on the phone with me... "shoulda coulda woulda, I have to live with my decision".I will never EVER trust this establishment with any animal.Ask around. I shared my story, and so many others in the surrounding counties have similar stories to share about Dr. Yerk. Do your research.

I took my 3 year old cat here to get declawed. I made the appointment a week prior, when I dropped him off on the morning of his surgery they had not put the appointment in, weren’t expecting me, and weren’t sure they’d be able to do the procedure. They ultimately kept him to perform the procedure. During booking the appointment as well as trying to figure out why it wasn’t in the system, the receptionist was unfriendly and even had an attitude with the vet. She seemed frustrated and like she didn’t want to be there at all. When he was picked up the following day his paws were not wrapped and there was no instruction on keeping the area clean. His left paw was already very swollen and looked painful. Within 2 days I had to take him to Purdue Small Animal Hospital to be seen where they found the paw was very infected. They asked if his paws were wrapped at any point after the procedure and I told them no, it was never done or mentioned. As of right now I’m at about $800 in vet bills from having him treated at Purdue.

Dr. Yerk and her staff were so kind in helping us try to make our sick 14 year old Lab comfortable in his final months as his health failed. When it was time to say goodbye, they were so sweet to us all. Other family members have used Dr. Yerk for decades and wouldn't go anywhere else.

My experience was bad from the start and I wish I would have just stopped there. Unfortunately I went ahead and dropped my 11 week old puppy off at this location at 8:30 am on a Friday and picked him up the next morning at 9:00 am. My puppy was getting an ear crop surgery. I wasn't for the surgery but my boyfriend talked me into it. The day that I picked my puppy up I was given a peice of paper with very limited information. Nobody seems to talk to you when you are in there. I ended up calling just to ask questions about when to give his medication and if I needed to make an appointment to come back to get the stitches out. My puppy seemed very dirty, smelly, and shaken up. He was starving when he got home and had to poop a lot like he hadn't got to in days. Anyways, the paper said to take the tape off of the ears after five days. On the third day I felt very uncomfortable with the whole tapping situation. I began to smell the area that was tapped and thought it smelled a little bad. I had a gut feeling something was terribly wrong so I took him to the emergency clinic at Purdue University since it was New Year's Eve. As they took the tape off it was obvious the ears were very infected. The stitches were gaping and poorly done. And from there it gets worse...my puppy turned very pale and was having trouble breathing. They found his blood oxygen level was very low and they were questioning if he was going to make it. After his x-ray we found that he had aspiration pneumonia from the surgery. He was in an oxygen cage with an IV of antibiotics and an e-collar for three days. Thank god his health increased and we got to bring him home alive. His ears are still infected and he will continue to take antibiotics for months. He is still wearing the e-collar and has to have his ears cleaned twice a day. So far we have spent around $1,500 just to keep our puppy alive after leaving him at this vet. I called Dr. Yerk to tell her about my puppy and she didn't seem to care. She just said "good luck." I will never take any pet there ever again. I regret every minute of it and I think I should be refunded in some way even if it's not full payment. Save your money and your pet, don't choose this vet!!!!

The staff is absolutely Amazing!Dr. Yerk is kind and gentle.I've had to cancel 2x f oil r my dog and they were so understanding. I can't wait to take Alan in!!

Best Ragdoll kitten from Dr. Yerk in 2004. Absolutely the best. He never had a flea, skin problem, etc. Hubie was fun, fluffy and goofy. He died last year. We miss him every day. Thank you so much Dr. Yerk. Do you have any kittens? We want one. Thanks.

So I share my bad review and not only was the service bad but sharing my review the comment on it from the vet making up lies my dog did not growel once and your staff the two old ladies were just scared of his size and that is why they wanted a muzzle on him I have never had to muzzle my dog and you don't have proper muzzle s anyway everything you had was cheap made to small looked more like a toy you justify your awful service anyway you want serverl people have also shared there terrible service from. Your office i left there and went straight to another vet office with out an appointment and they cut his nails in under 15 minutes because they actually know how to care for animals of all sizes i can't believe you lied on here wow.how worst then I thought 😡
